    Very good explanation of the WOW method. You are a good ambassador for Tesla, even though things are not going as fast as we want according to the Semi for the time being. But you bet, all of a sudden everything will move at Tesla speed. No one knows what timeplan Elon has in the back of his head.

    Well, Z,
    its like this. Out there in the internet world are 2 kinds of content providers. Some, like yourself provide acurate, current info for your viewers while the others are putting out
    any kind of old or made up misinformation to get views to click even if it requires generating the outrage of the day. As viewers it is our job to tell which is which.

      I have a "speculative" question.
      .
      If a Tesla car can charge on a 7kW unit (or less) Is there any reason a Tesla Semi couldn't "trickle charge" overnight on a V4, or even V3 unit overnight?
      .
      IF the majority of large car charging locations are empty between 9 pm and 7 am, it seems like a wasted resource?
      .
      (That would remove a lot of the "OMG! there are no Semi Chargers!!!" FUD...)

    • @ZaneglerTeslaSemiStalker-vt3or
      @ZaneglerTeslaSemiStalker-vt3or  Před měsícem

      @@rogerstarkey5390 I looked into this and they can only be charged at a megacharger. Odd since the slower charge seems appropriate for many use-cases.

    I believe I called this one a couple weeks ago. This is not a factory, but simply a parking lot - without even the pavement that I predicted. I wonder how many Tesla semis pulled the 1000+ trailers to their parking spots? I guess it beats tents. But if you are a solar panel company, why are so few solar panels on the roofs of your factories? Honest question. Every Tesla drawing renders the factory roofs covered in solar panels. But in reality, there are very few. Vegas has nearly none. Texas has only a stenciled 'TESLA' atop the plant. Germany has none. And Buffalo has none.
    Yet, we are to believe the panels should be installed on our roofs. Please explain.

      @ZaneglerTeslaSemiStalker-vt3or  Před měsícem

      Whatever the deay is, it isn't permitting delay from the county. Storey County approves most plans in 30-days and usually much less.

    The biggest problem the Semi trucks have is how are they going to be charged now that the Supercharger team is gone ? All that IP gone. Hardly any Truck chargers that are out there in the first place.

    • @rogerstarkey5390

      Does anyone have a V3 chargers at their home?
      .
      Think it through...
      As in "OTA truck parked with driver resting between 8pm and 6-7 am...."
      Where might they find a unit which could charge the truck in 8 hours?
      .
      Maybe a V3 at a 100+ charger location? Which can output 250kW compared to 1.5 MW?
      So 6(?) hours instead of 1?
      9 hours instead of 1.5?
      (That would be 8pm to 5 am?)
      10-20 Semi trucks instead of 100 cars?

    Built on the backs of children working in the cobalt mines of the Congo. (Book - COBALT RED ) (Jim)

    • @jeffcarlton3590
      @jeffcarlton3590 Před měsícem

      Tesla is not sourcing any cobalt from the Congo. The Amazon description for this book, COBALT RED claims that "Cobalt is an essential component to every lithium-ion rechargeable battery made today, the batteries that power our smartphones, tablets, laptops, and electric vehicles." This is a patently false statement since LFP chemistry, used for most Chinese built EV's and many Tesla's, and now their stationary storage Powerwalls and Megapacks contain no cobalt.
      This video spoke of CATL battery production lines being shipped to Giga Nevada. These will almost assuredly be for LFP chemistry batteries as that Chinese company is a leader in that technology, and is even working on sodium based batteries that will not need lithium mining.
      The head of the promising battery recycling start-up Redwood Materials, J.B. Straubel, is saying that cobalt is nearing a closed loop resource acquisition process where recycled cobalt can cover any of our new manufacturing cobalt needs. This is primarily due to modern NMC chemistry batteries using so much less cobalt than earlier NMC battery configurations. By the way, cobalt is also used in petroleum refining, but as this is a mature technology, those cobalt needs have long been closed loop.
      None of what I have said excuses any human rights abuses detailed in COBALT RED, which I have not had a chance to read having just found out about it through your recommendation. All I am saying is that there may be good reasons not to vilify all lithium-ion batteries and EV's in general with a wide brush solely based on the contents of its pages. As with all media it falls on us its consumers to work at maintaining an open mind and a critical eye when reading its findings
      Tesla also has no plans to source any lithium from Thacker Pass. They are actively pursuing other sources and extraction and refining methods. An argument can be made of course that if that Lithium mine goes through, all lithium users that source lithium from anywhere else still help to create the resource demand vacuum that enables Thacker Pass to operate and become an economically profitable sacrifice(?) zone. That's kinda the way our capitalist system works, and is why smart oversight and regulation should always be a robust part of our mine permitting and inspection process. Mining is a messy, but unavoidable part of our modern lives. Anything that can't be grown must be mined whenever recycling can't cover these resource needs. Still, there are better and best practices whenever mines must be operated.
      But we do need to keep a clear eyed look at the larger picture of how we are to best survive the changing climate and toxic load challenges we have foisted on ourselves as we try and navigate our path to a cleaner, greener, healthier and more sustainable future.

      I am sure the Chinese, who are in charge of the vast majority of the Cobalt in the Congo,care a great deal about the people of the Congo. Just like King Leopold 11 of Belgium did. History has not changed, just the methods used to hide information. (Jim)
