2020 Fiordland Wapiti Hunting New Zealand - Mount Tanilba Wapiti Block Period 1

In this video we explore into the Mount Tanilba Wapiti ballot block hunting the ellusive Wapiti Bull. The trip takes place over the first period (20/03/20 - 29/03/20), you might recognize those dates as being the start of the Corona Virus lockdown in New Zealand. Watch along as we battle against tough weather conditions, steep country, thick bush and impending time restraints as our country entered a level 4 lockdown! Covid has a lot to answer for. I did manage here in the a week in the red rut but as I dint eat the meat of rutting stags and there is little chance of selling the meat due to covid I just sat watched and listened. even after nearly fifty years of stalking the sound of a stag roaring still sends little tingles down my spine. Great video and photography keep it up.

Yeah it was a bit of a shame but bloody lucky to of had the chance for a trip before the lockdown! Can't complain about a shortened hunt when compared to everything else going on. Cheers for the comments
