      some yes, some no... the one in the beginning, in my opinion would have been better if she was framed within the white of the torn paper, as well as the cropping of the guy holding his back... its meh. the old guy walking is the best one followed by the guy coming out of the dumpster. Some would be good with straightening , others are so close just missing something

    Hi Octavian I’m pretty sure based on my modest experience that the best focal length for layering street pictures is 35mm. 28 is too wide, 50 too narrow. Enjoy and btw merry Christmas 🎄

    Great to see part2 Octavian. Some bangers in there, especially 11 and 39 (clever use of the musicians bag to carry on the ‘skyscrapers’). I like to mix it ip with layering like this and also the architecture captures. You should try Dublin sometime, it’s great for layering old and new ☘️👍

    Great one Octavian! You should really try shooting in Shoreditch if you want to do more layering, Camden Town also great for candid. Hakney Wick, Bethanel Green if you want something a bit more multicultural and gentrified... Those were the places that got me started in street photography while i was living in London a few years back. Oh, also Barbican Centre is like a breath of fresh air in the centre of London. Would really like to see your perspective regarding those places maybe in a next video. Te salut, tot respectul! ✌

    Another great video Octavian. It is brave move on your part to change the style of your photos, rather than take the safe road of doing more of the same. Next time in London, consider trying the luxury streets like Jermyn St, Saville Row and Bond St. I think you will find some charismatic subjects in those locations. Keep up the great work. You've made the most of your 2 days in my home country. There were many great shots in there. I'd like to ask a couple of questions. (1) as we can often see your camera, I notice the aperture changes during your shoot - how to you decide how to set this? And (2) your photos look as if you've boosted saturation and contrast in post. Can you give us some idea of what you do in processing?

    • @OctavianCarare
      @OctavianCarare  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you Paul :) If need more depth in my pictures I go for f11 or f16, if not I close it, depends on the scene and on the elements. I do use lightroom and some custom made presets to edit my pictures. For the pictures taken in harsh light I do underexpose and than play with shadows and blacks :)

    Solid post w/good mix of images, video effects (slow/fast) and the new “stalking meter”, Octavian. Attention-holding pacing and clean audio. You should have no problem exceeding your subscriber goal.👍 Commentary helpful but voice over not needed for every shot if that’s what you had in mind at the vid outro - POV tells the story and viewers should easily tell what shots you were preparing; that’s what makes your POVs special, IMO.
    Favs include proximity shot 5 (better than 4), 9 pants/legs, 14 red/black, 19 motion blur, 26 two of a kind, 28 and 38 layering.
    Suggestion: rather than show both of two images that are alike (e.g., 4 and 5 proximity), only show what you think is better photo. Cull the “almost”.
    Lucky find with the cat - kitty even cooperated with vocalization. Nice. Are you a “cat person” Octavian?
    Keep basic format, but don’t hesitate to improvise and mix things up. Let improvements evolve organically, if that makes sense. Cheers!

    • @OctavianCarare
      @OctavianCarare  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Paul :) I will not do a proper voice over but more of a commentary live, when I am taking the pictures. Most probably I will complain a lot :). I will see how it works but for viewers starting street photography may be helpful. Regarding the two pictures, sometimes it's really hard to choose the best one and I want to show some alternatives as well. I will give it a thought. I love cats and dogs as well :) I love animals. but would love to have a cat and a dog sometime :). Thanks for the feedback and yes, I will try to keep it basic and evolve organically :). Cheers :)
