Man, these live recordings sound so much better than the record.

Best songwriter/singer right now. Stays true to self and won’t bend to the Nashville crowd. 400 Unit is great. Excited about seeing/hearing them for 6th time, in a couple weeks.

The whole interview is great but this version of King Of Oklahoma at 26:00, oh my - true electric vibes from R.E.M, Neil Young and the storytelling of Jason is gold, shivers all over

I am confused by that song. If you read Killers of the Flower Moon, Hale was known as the King of Oklahoma. Molly doesn’t have the sort of relationship implied in the song. Maybe certain phrases are played in the movie as spoken by different characters.
Molly is married to one of two nephews of Hale, iirc.

@@Caperhere i read the book last year and your thoughts are spot on, totally agreed - he certainly drew the inspiration from that and then maybe shifted to a whole other story, or just like you said, different voices of different characters

Ain't nobody can touch him...He's the best songwriter/singer/performer to come along in decades. He's like a Dylan or a Kristofferson...his songs will be sung for many years to come.

Wow, what an absolutely fantastic interview! I've been a Musician for a long, long time, almost 26 years now, and I absolutely love Jason Isbell.
I also just celebrated my 15th year in recovery of continuous sobriety from alcoholism and drug addiction, and so I feel particularly akin to where he's coming from, and you did a great, great job asking insightful and poignant questions.
I think that this was honestly the best interview that I've heard in many many years, and I really enjoyed listening to it.
    Thank you! 🙏♥️✋

I was just about to subscribe to this channel when I heard them censor Jason. ... Decent interview but I hate censorship. Jason is the best!

Am late to get the album but feel a bit worried that he didn't stay with Cobb for production....might be rockier than he usually is, may be too much for me. Hard to tell without hearing the whole album, but "King" is really loud to my ears....can barely hear what he's singing...wish we could have heard "Save the World"....."Cast Iron Skillet" is brutal

i don't mean to be rude, but my husband says the same thing. He's 81 & won't wear his hearing aides. That's not Jason's fault. But my husband thinks it is. HAHAHA
