- The first clothespin patented was in 1853 by a Vermont inventor named David Smith. I am forever in his debt. :-)
Right at the top of my favorite things list with buttons and mason jars are clothespins. I use them all throughout my house but these are my most obvious uses for them in my craftroom.

What wonderful ideas! You know what I love about the whole junk journal community is all the people with the same passions like clothespins, buttons, paper, lace, and all the other little bits. Tfs
Who knew there were so many uses for clothespins? And that's just in the craft room! Thanks for sharing!
Tim is a necessary man with his crafting brain
I remember when this type of clothespin became available...was sooo much better than the older one piece pins/pegs. I loved putting the wash on the line for Mom - as soon as I was tall enough to reach out the window. Smiles, Carol
Mrs. Cog - you are the only person in my universe that can make a video about clothes pins interesting - thank you for all your tips & ideas. You are the bestest!
A tip: watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Beau Jude Yup, I have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :D
I take the plain stubby clothespins, put my piano students first name (2 or 3 clothesline per student) and use them to "mark" materials I buy for them, or the students enjoy using them to hold open their pages of what they are playing, preventing the pages from closing while playing. Thanks for your good ideas. My favourite ideas are adding stamped designs or washi tape.
I love decorating clothes pins and using them around the house. Tfs❤
thank you great ideas love the last one fabric covered .....
I love my clothes pins too. I use them all the time in all sorts of ways and even the old way on a clothes line. I love to paint and decorate them too.
Oh Liz! I’m having washi envy! 😁
Who would ever think a clothes peg video would be good, but here it is 😁 Thank you for showing how pretty they can be. I used the tiny ones to hold flaps in place when making miniature boxes, so handy.
You are full of good ideas.. Thank you for sharing so many of them with me...
Wow thank you for sharing. I now have a new fascination with clothes pins!!!!
Could you imagine being the person who makes those mini mini clothespins?
🤪🙃
Tfs 🌺
Wonderful, fun, and useful ideas for using & decorating clothespins. The stamped ones are way cool. ... I wish I could find the nice ones like they used to sell. Those were constructed with nice strong metal pieces and hard wood. I have a few left from the early 80’s and they are so much better (and a bit bigger) than the modern ones.
Great ideas!!!! I purchased some of the stiff ribbon at a yard sale and had no clue what to do with it, now I know! Thank you!
Hehehe, you have so many cool ideas! TFS sweet Liz xxx
Great range of ideas and interesting tips, thanks! LOVE the BIG paperclip! Also, very glad to see no plastic!
Very fun!! I am going to use some of these ideas!! I LOVE the big huge clothespin!! I also love the sari silk idea that looks pretty and keeps it from getting tangled. You have the best ideas and these tutorials are the best!!
Thank you Amelia. I have it on good authority you might have a few foofy clothespins lying about lol. Hugs!! :-)
Love me some clothespins, too! My favorite is an oversized pin intended to be hung on the wall. It stands upside down in my kitchen and I use it to hold recipe cards. Perfect height to work with my bifocals!
GREAT TIPS ON USING CLOTHESPINS IN OUR CRAFT ROOMS AND GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT STORING NEAR WINDOW BACAUSE MY DESK IS IN FRONT OF A WINDOW. TFS MRS. COG
Great video! I love clothespins, too! I use them often, too, as did my Mom. 😃
Very cute idea's for clothes pins! TFS!!

Thanks for sharing the great tips and ideas.
It never amazes me how men think that exaggerating a habit , will some how make you stop! Love his sense of humor though.......got to give him the props😂💕💕💐
Really great ideas for clothes pins. I didn’t think about Distress Ink and Stamping them. Thank you for sharing. I am loving your videos with the 10 or 7 ways to do something, they are very interesting.
Thank you Dawn. I'm a compulsive list maker lol. :-)
Great ideas! TFS the inspiration, Liz!
Love clothes pins. I use the dolly pegs to wrap my thin laces around and keep them in a basket my mum decorated. 🥰
Great video full of interesting ideas and tips and tricks. Terrific as always! Thank you!
Plenty of ways to use pegs there Mrs.C ! I like the idea of decorating some of them too. Thankyou for sharing.
👚🧷👑 You are the Clothespin Queen! Who knew all the great ways to use them. I use them for chips and that’s about it. I did buy some mini ones last week but I really like you wide mini ones. Love the washi tape decoration and yard stick idea. Also, the fabric covered one. You come up with the neatest things. 🌷🦜🧵
Thanks for all the cool ideas!!
I love that yardstick idea!!! That would work well with fabric measurements & paper/cardboard cutouts.
I am really enjoying these tutorials of how you use supplies, the bead one was great, and this one is too! i don't know what i would do without clothespins! i have to get some of the ribbon you used at the end for decorating-it looks amazing! i use to paint them with acrylic paints, then i "got wise" and started using Sharpies. I might color the entire c. pin with one color then add stripes, polka dots etc. works great. I also like your idea using the yardstick-lots of possibilities using that. Great tips and ideas as always Mrs Cog, thanks so much for sharing. OH! i saw the journal cards in your shop!! I LOVE those and will be ordering soon!
Wonderful video! Very inspirational!
Lamp on 😆 stamping! Could be words also, like your mini tags 🏷👏🏼
Thank you I always learn so many neat things. You are so talented.
Very nice tips. Thanks for sharing.
I learn so much from you 💜Thank You
Handy little critters. i use painted clothes pegs to hold the prices in place on the baskets holding my products when I do a market. I get lots of comments!
Good idea with the washi tapes and sari silks, I shall copy your ideas with those for definite. tfs
Thank you ever so much I love these ideas, and use most of the these kinds of ideas. Stamping and washing are two are my favorite kinds of embellishments. That and spray paint.
Another great video giving tips that make crafting easier thank you for sharing! I still corral my papers with clothespins! It makes staying organized so much easier - paper is almost the messiest component in my Nook - lace can get out of hand too but clothespins keep it all together and neat. :) Laura

I love to use fabric on them too.
Thank you Mrs. Cog
I get them at dollar tree. I find that store to be the cheapest.
You are awesome. Thank you for sharing...
Great ideas
I don’t think there was any I have not incorporated including the hanging up of the mittens and beanies, coming in for the snow. AI often spray paint mine then stamp and put a clear spray cover. They even hang Christmas cards and ornaments there is not much the dapper little close pin cant do!! Awesome and fun post, I loved it!
Great ideas and inspiration TFS JuliAnn :)
Adirondack has some NEW Distress inks that are Adirondack, permanent ink. I have mostly switched to using the Adirondack inks for my distressing, love the Sepia and acoffee
Such great ideas! And thanks for the heads-up about buying them at Walmart for cheap.
Love that idea Hugs Bonnie
So Fun !!!
Years ago I did some chip bag one and after distressing I took my small letter stamps and stamped the word chip on them. Still use them.
Awesome video, fun, and practical. I love clothespins!! Can anyone tell me where you can get the short-stubby-wide ones. I can’t seen to locate any that look that sturdy! 💜💜
If only we’d invented that vintage photo distress ink! We’d be rich!
lolol... if only...
wow that is one big clothpin LOL
I have a collection of antique woods pegs going back to early early 1900's 💜💜 people just dont understand 😋
TFS
So many great ideas. Where do you buy your yardsticks? TFS. 💕
I buy my yardsticks at Lowe's Home Improvement, they usually have them near desk where they mix custom colors of paint. Last year they were 99 cents each. :-)
Where can you find the fatter, wide ones? I've been looking everywhere- maybe Amazon? Thanks! 👍
Hi Jess, I find them at Walmart... not on the laundry supply aisle, but in the craft aisles. They're a bit more expensive than the regular size. :-)
Mrs Cog I finally found them, Liz! Can't thank you enough! Stamped um and they are fab now!✂️✨💕
Do you have a journal on farm animals?
Great and very informative video ..TY
