- I can't be objective about this game. I hate Ultra Despair Girls, and it's not just for the Obvious reasons. So let me tell you why.
(Also I really don't care if you love this game. Love what you love, let me hate what I hate.)
I produced this video in 10 days for a school assignment, hence why it's a bit briefer than some of my other work and its style is different. However, it was a fun little project and it was cathartic to make.

You mentioned in the vid that you wanted to see a sign of the remnants of despair, right? Someone made fan designs and cut scene screenshots as if you could find them and speak to them in UDG! I think they should’ve done this in game.
I hate udg. I like stories that focus terrible topics well, and not romatitize it. There is a couple of shows and movies that do this.
Honestly the game is more 6 then two mostly cause i do like komaru and toko's relationship, the music is great (and i like the warriors' theme) and the boss fights are fun and well made. But yes the story is not written well and drags, chapters 2-3 are the worst in terms of game length and story wise, the gameplay is a worst version re4, and by the time dr3 anime came out the game lost it's purpose. Honestly if they did do a sequal (maybe a non canon one) where the remeants do become bosses, more character growth with the cast and for me at least, rewards for beating the game and competing it, then i could work. But as is i doubt it will. This is for more die hard fans of dr and even then just wait on sale for it. Also haji and monica are both the worst characters in dr history, we kokichi pales in comparison.
I really think that this Kotoko's underwear thing was used on player to make them reconsider their own actions... I mean, if it is possible for you to see even a smallest possibility of something more behind little girl pantsu images, than that fact alone already makes you somewhat of a pedophile yourself..?
Well, I mean, anybody can say that there is a possibility that some other player can "enjoy" this kind of content, and that's so gross to even think about this kind of people, right? And, obviously, showing us the underwear of a little girl who was harassed so many times and doesn't deserved any of that... That is a bit ruff
But, on the other hand, that was you, also the player, who mentioned the EXISTING of that possibility of Kotoko's sexualisation, while Kotoko should be considered in a non-sexual way, despite her being showed the way we see her in the game.
Kotoko herself is a character who just happened to struggle through this kind of situations all her life long. She's a lot like Kazuichi Soda - it's, like, his fate is to get into false gay situations permanently, he just can't prevent them from happening, even the main character of Danganronpa 2 has an option to ask him "are we on a date" or sort of, while we clearly can see that he likes Sonya and girls in general so he kinda forced to live through such kind of situations. Despite his struggle to fight through that, many Ronpa fans consider him being gay or, at least, bi, but he's clearly straight, he's just a little clumsy in his own way, that's all.
So does Kotoko - she always involved into weird things, like lack of clothes with or without a reason, or accidentally showing her underwear to the world, or even trying to avenge herself by that weird minigame... Komaru's horny thoughts may be Kotoko's opinion on Komaru or Komaru's opinion on player, but in both cases the player should say "NO THAT'S WRONG, I'M NOT LIKE THAT SO DOES KOMARU, YOU ARE WRONG, KOTOKO AND ADULTS ARE NOT DEMONS".
The point is, that Kotoko is trying to live and fight through her own sexualisation. She's that kind of person (character, but people with such fates with one repeating struggle can be non-fiction people) kind of person that gets into sexualised situations and she will get into another one, and another one yet again, but that should not make her, A CHILD, "sexy" in the eyes of a player or other characters, even if it's hard to unsee "sexy" in her or smth
Idk, I really do see Kotoko that way - she's somebody who is falsely sexualised by others. We just need to ignore her sexual past part and see her as a normal child with all her unintentional strips and clumsy falls, that's all. We need to bring her new clothes and we need to help her get up when she falls so she understood the concept of gentle attitude without using her. And that Player's realisation is also a great job of the game plot... Welp, at least for those who got it right... I think. Yeah.
I think you handled talking about the sexual abuse with tact. Passing off pedophilia as a joke and sexualizing a minor (especially someone that young) is horrific and needs to be called out.
Fr… like I was shocked watching kids die and stuff and then after chapter 4 I took a break and never finished it rlly… haven’t played in like a year. But part of me thinks it’s a parody to media that actually does that to the full extent and says “oh she’s 500 years old.” Like maybe it was making fun of media that does that? Maybe it’s supposed to shock the player to represent how bad and dumb the “500 year old” that has the physical form of a not adult trope is? Or maybe I’m being too optimistic, and chapter 4 simply has bad intentions…

No piece of media requires panty shots of a fucking ELEVEN year old character to convey a message that acceptance of/marketing toward pedophiles within the anime/manga community serves to normalize and whitewash child abuse.
And holy shit, there's no way you can make a serious point about a serious problem if you're injecting comedy relief into things every 2 seconds, ESPECIALLY when you're joking about the serious problem itself.
Let's also not forget the fight between Toko and Komaru, in which the 16 or 17 year old protagonist is also stripped down to underwear and a bra, in a scene completely separate from all the Kotoko stuff and with no reason to believe its anything besides fan service.
If there's a way to satirize child sexual abuse in a manner which both respects the severity of the subject and delivers a meaningful message against it, I'm certainly not aware how to make it. But UDG scarcely could have gone about it worse.

I will say that the "Motivation" scene made me feel uncomfortable in a way that I never expected to feel in a video game. I think there was one smart writer/designer on the team who wanted to paint an accurate ugly picture of child abuse but as development went onwards, everyone else voted to make upskirt jokes 'n' such which totally devalued the message. Levity can help when discussing topics but there needs to be gravity as well.
Persona 5 had a similar problem with Ana in how her character arc was about overcoming abuse and then there are later parts of the game where she is forced to strip because plot and it spits in the face of S-abuse she faced.
Another thing with the sexual abuse that I see rarely mentioned is that Monica assaulted Nagisa. When he tried to stand up to her after discovering her betrayal, she cornered him, kissing him without his consent. When he tries to get away, she berates him, implying that HE'S the pervert despite the fact he is the victim. She continues to mentally wear him down before kissing him AGAIN.
Yeah, the point is for it to be uncomfortable and wrong. Monaca’s pure evil here. We’re not supposed to think she’s right with what she does to Nagisa
Counter Argument: Monaca is the main villainess, so it just adds to how evil she is to do that.

Real talk, this was the first playthrough I watched of the Danganronpa series (Jazzyguns, for anyone curious. 😊) I honestly really liked it. But I totally understand the many, *MANY* problems this game has. It's....a mixed bag to say the least. 😅

The kids' theme makes me feel the same way that one specific song in V3 does. I know it's meant to be grating, but my hatred makes a full circle into finding appreciation for and eventually loving them. These songs do what they're made to do: make the listener contemplate murder
"It's a Kid's World" is just traumatizing to me.
Even though I didn't enjoy UDG as much as the other Danganronpa titles, it was always a nice refresher from the usual "killing game" aspect. It's kinda unfortunate on how bad most of the kids sucked because I thought it was an interesting story elsewise. Also maybe its just me, but I wish we got a different character besides Nagito since we already know so much about him (editors note I'm writing this before watching the video to say my thoughts beforehand). Also no hate to anyone of course!
I don't mind having him on UDG, as we see how his UD version was, however he should have stayed dead on DR2, change my mind

I would agree with you that it's a nice refresher if the way the game controlled wasn't abysmal. If Ace Attorney took a break from murder mystery style gameplay but the game was awful I wouldn't really call it a good thing, it's the same for Danganronpa.
No hate to anyone who likes it but it's not a good first person shooter, which is an issue. Most people who really like it seem to have just watched let's plays which is really indicative of its poor gameplay quality.
@@etam8099 Don't make an understatement like that the anime brought back all the DR2 characters for literally no reason onesoever. Literally ruined the ending for me.
I wonder why they didn't mention any of the remnants of despair, even though they were one of the causes regarding the downfall of civilization. Personally I think that it would've been cool to see the relationships they would have with Monaca and the other Warriors of Hope.

It's literally translating to "I don't know what" and is basically the same as "this little something" when talking about a detail that gives a strong opinion on one thing/that makes something what it is without knowing clearly what that detail is!

9:43 This is a random small thing but it's a pretty big oversight on the localization team's part to not think of how "I didn't even confess my feelings to Taka" would come across after they arbitrarily gave a character in the first game that exact same nickname. The One-Steve Limit and all that.

Ultra despair girls: came for the girl protags and the potential THH/SDR2 callbacks, left with an empty feeling inside
I might sound harsh for saying this but I didn't care the warriors of hope mostly. I did feel bad for all the trauma they had to go through but the moment I saw that jataro scene with those adults I lost all will to forgive any of them. Especially because we're constantly showed horrific slaughter after slaughter of the adults and it kinda got me depressed whilst playing through it. I still really think it was awful though what they had to go through and I don't want to dismiss it completely but it's just hard for me to side with them after seeing how brutal they were with all the deaths that occurred
same I really didn't care about them that much. they were mostly a pain in the ass XD
Can’t WAITTTTT for the rewrite!!! V3 is my favorite game and I loved to twist (not at first but now I adore it) but I would love to see someone’s take on. Rewrite!!
The Ultimate Despair's are elsewhere, Towa City was protected for the bulk of the tragedy because Monaca was biding her time and was in league with Junko. Nagito was annoying even as a despair so he got pawned off to them as a servant, and Izuru is here to pick up the two pieces of Alter Ego Junko to prepare for SDR2
Really, it's more that even as a Despair Nagito was fighting against despair. Though I guess an Ultimate Despair would consider that annoying XD
As weird as it sounds, I'm glad you disliked the game so much. I feel like most people I've seen have fairly positive opinions, which as you said, is totally valid. There are /some/ aspects of it enjoy. But I always felt rather alone for how I felt about it, which is... well, not positive. This runs so counter to how I usually engage with media and criticism, but I'm happy someone else thinks it's as bad as I do.
Love how you started putting in portal gameplay. Love that game.
I have a love-hate relationship with this game. On one hand, it singlehandedly saved Toko for me and gave us a female protag who got more than 30 minutes of screen time.. but on the other hand it handled Kotoko and Heiji so wrong. I was especially uncomfortable with Kotoko's story, but she still ended up being my favorite of the children after that chapter.
I liked the music, I didn't mind the controls (I didn't think they were awful?), I liked some of the characters, I liked a decent amount of the story. 4/10.
Wouldn't say it's good by any standard but I enjoy *some* of the game, but I pretty much agree with everything you said. It's kind of weird.
To be devils advocate for the game the reason (theultimate despairs) aren’t in the story more is because Towa city is one of the few cities untouched by the apocalypse because Monica Towa was working together with Junko. The story is pretty clear that they might come here though if the future foundation becomes involved…. That all being said chapter 3 of the game is just….really poor. NezumiVA also reviewed this game and even though she liked some of game themes said that chapter 3 handling of kotoko’s trauma and haji were bad and I agree.
If you think playing the game was boring, try watching it, like I do whenever I get into a new game. The only parts that are even remotely interesting are the cutscenes and the boss fights.
Fortunately, skipping the combat is always an option.
It’s more bearable when playing it in a Discord call, with other people & their commentary.
Even turning the voices off so we get to voice the characters.

i have to say, i really love this game, i love the characters, i think haiji is a cool vilain bu the little girls thing is a no no, i tought fukawa character was great, it was nice but still snarky wich i love.
the gameplay its interesting, could be better, i would like to see more of the other survivors and yuta, poor guy, he is still alive in my mind, and i would love to see the remnatns of despair and battle them, but maybe in my dreams
The only thing i hate about ultra despair girls, is how underused was later in other danganronpa tittles, yes maybe it wasnt great or that loved, but holy gee it was a realy important title for the franchise. in danganronpa v3 is called a crappy sequel, in danganronpa 3 the animation was so underused, monaca just gave up just... because, fukawa and yasuhiros development were totally abscent, the warriors of hope just appeared twice, AND ONE WAS AN IMAGINATION SCENE, haiji doesnt appear, kumarus parents were never seen, WICH WAS HER FUCKING REASON TO STILL GET GOING FOWARDS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, My god... kodaka if you hate ultra despair girls or are just too lazy to inlcude it you just can say it, its wasnt necessery to shit on the franchise this hard.
the last part its a joke by the way, but its pretty sad how they just didnt care about putting things about this game being a really important title of the franchise

Edit: ok, one nitpick critique that really bugs me, I'm not a fan of using the same snippet of the song for every title card, it usually plays a lot better to have a different meme audio for each sub title. Schaffrillas has a million movie ranking videos and his structuring of meme audio for each rank is perfection. I would study his master craft for reference. Also the music is super loud and blew out my ears so thanks, time for life with no ears
I remember when the game first came out I hated the kid song, I wanted blood when I heard it start up. After all these years, I'm now so numb I feel nothing. I almost kind of like it.

Ik it’s not part of the main thing. But it makes me happy that we are allowed to talk about things that we come across in classes. Like for example, critiquing something for an assignment or Rhetorical analysis on your favorite song. I think that’s a way in how it makes it learning more fun
And I realized editing the message somehow removed the like/heart that was given by the channel. Which… seems really stupid on CZcams’s part.
It kind of makes sense why they don’t address the characters from 2 besides Nagito, as the game supposedly leads into DGR 2. It would also be kind of hard to address how certain characters could fit and have a place in the story of UDG, save for Fuyuhiko/Peko or possibly Kazuichi. Monaca giving up despair because Nagito wouldn’t shut was hilarious. Doesn’t mean that-Nagito aside-the Ultimate Muscle Girls comic should involve the 77th class more with an extra Akane cameo than the entire canon game.
Besides that, the non story aspects feel kind of boring tbh? Not really tense at all outside of events, no actual survival or make it work with what you have feel despite the apparent apocalypse gripping the city.
Also on the note of Jataro and Masaru, I kind of feel like they got the Leon effect, where we spent so little time with them we didn’t grow to like them and feel affected by their death at all.
Strangely enough I feel a lot more for Masaru than Jataro though? I think it was because his breakdown during his battle was such a sharp contrast compared to how he normally was that it stuck out to me. Jataro's whole involvement is honestly a blur lol.
@@thetiniestleaf I mean, in that aspect, Masaru had much more shock factor in his breakdown with the breaking of his hand, whereas Jataro was just like, “Wait he’s actually beautiful? wat?”
Granted, I was far happier to see maskless Jataro in that ending shot than Masaru. Probably because where Masaru’s backstory came from that one lore bit thing you find somewhere, Jataro kind of had a The Stranger style rethinking moment when his reveal came in of “Wait, then why was he so hard on himself…wait.” This kinda thing was done better in other games, while seesaw man is unfortunately an example, the bbeg of SDR :A is another example done so much better than most from canon. (Keeping it vague for spoilers, highly suggest you play to get that DRA fix)
Don’t get me wrong, both of the kids are really fucked up, but the way they implemented them could have been better than “Buff dude breaks hand for twitch” and “Wait he got drip?” Obviously not something on the level of Kotoko’s “No, no, no, No, No, No!” moment but still.
Honestly, UDG was probably my favorite game. Don't get me wrong, I still hate a lot of things about it from Chapter 3 to Haiji, but I think part of what helped me enjoy it more is that Toko and Sho are literally my two favorite characters in the entire series. In fact, I pretty much went out of my way to watch this game as soon as I could just for Toko and Sho. That probably affected my overall enjoyment, because while you couldn't imagine a worse punishment than being shackled to Toko, I couldn't imagine a greater gift.
All opinions, of course, and I know you have other issues, but I do see where you're coming from with regards to Toko's constant presence. She's a very hit-or-miss character in terms of likeability.
ok, so I never actually PLAYED this game, but I watched a LOT of play throughs of it. I’m just not good at first or third person shooters, and don’t care for them much. So I didn’t get it. There are also a lot of… um… mature themes that took me aback when seeing it. It’s a whole other level from the other games on that side of it. I don’t think it’s a bad game… I just think it’s a bad game. If you know what I mean.
This is the game equivalent of movies that become the movies they try to do commentary on and the only message they have is [insert bad thing] is bad.
Like you’re telling me that you’re trying to have a message of “child abuse is bad” but have underage groping and pedophilia played as comedy…Danganronpa has always had an awful way of dealing with SA and fan service. It’s just blatantly irresponsible in this game…
Thank you for clearing the fog in front of my eyes regarding udg, i honestly repressed all of the terrible, TERRIBLE, things this game had included just to remember the things i did like, i.e. komaru and toko's friendship. I still do feel like i enjoy this game, other than all the things dicussed, but i do now feel it sits atop a pedestal WAY below what i previously thought, thank you tinyleaf, keep making these great analysises (analysies? Idk tbh :p)! Unless they're not well to your mental health. I hope i can continue to support you 💖💖
To be honest I really only liked the interactions between Komaru and Toko.

I’m honestly surprised a team that came up with something as amazing and well written as each of the main Danganronpa games came out with this… even Summer Camp looks a bit better. People don’t like it and I don’t plan on buying it but it’s nice seeing scenes of my favourite characters back and talking to each other.
Edit: the Kotoko scene was so disturbing I hate it.

Since this game didn't come with the Danganronpa Decadence bundle for the Switch (despite Komaru and Genocide Jack being on the cover art), I felt like I was missing out on a part of the franchise I could enjoy, but after watching this video, I now feel like I dodged a *huge* bullet since..oh good lord that game sounds like a disaster and that one should ever suffer through playing it ever again.
I remember reading somewhere that it was left out intentionally given the sexual content. And yeah, if you really want to experience it at all, it's better done through those game cutscenes people stitch together. Although I'd still skip the third chapter :/

Honestly, I liked it a lot but I feel like there could be some changes. For example, the motivation scene and the sexual jokes. It made me really uncomfortable and if you took it out of the game it wouldn’t make much of a difference otherwise. I also feel like they could’ve made Haji not a pedo if you know what I mean 😒. But other than that, I enjoyed Toko’s dynamic with Komaru a lot and I also liked Toko’s and Komaru’s character development towards the end too!
I liked the Toko/Komaru friendship, Toko/Genocide Jack moments in general, and I liked Monaca and Kotoko. But I feel like the dark topics could've been handled better lol
I enjoyed the game. Though I do agree with the faults you brought up. I don't remember how much I spent on the game I think I got it for $30 on Vita and I wanna get it on PS4 (most likely when it's on sale.) It is my least favorite of the franchise I think (I haven't spent much time with S though), but I think Komaru is my 2nd favorite protagonist behind Hajime and the game made Toko one of my favorite characters from Trigger Happy Havoc.

Haven't played it myself, only watched a playthrough. It made me feel so uncomfortable, and the Warriors of Hope (and Nagito) are so annoying, that I don't even considered playing it myself. The mechanics didn't look like well implemented, too. They could've made a great game, or at least a story that tackles difficult themes, and they failed miserably.
Tiny, I'm begging you make a portal 2 review, if not for profit than only for your mental health

Unfortunately I am aware of that game's existence. I refuse to play it out of principle but that is a 1/10.
If I Could Re write danganronpa V3 it would start like this:
During the Beginning it would ask “Do you want to play as Kaede or Shuichi?” If you Pick Kaede, everything will stay the same but if you pick Shuichi, the murders would be different..
Ch1: Rantaro > Tsumugi (Shuichi would be executed.)
New Protag: Kaede Akamatsu
Ch2: Korekiyo > Tenko
Ch3: Gonta + Kirumi > Angie
Ch4: Kaito > Kaito (He commits Suicide in the virtual world because Maki poisons him to stop him from suffering from the disease.) Miu gets executed for breaking the rules.
Ch5: Keebo > Kokichi
Survivors:
Kaede, Ryoma, Maki, Himiko.
I wish that they would have this because firstly, I feel their is a unexplored arc with Ryoma. Secondly, with this, we get to see everyone’s execution’s. Thirdly, Once you beat one of the killing games for V3 you could restart and play it again as a different character and with a different story, different victims, different executions, different murders, different motives, etc. (also you get to play as Kaede which in my opinion is a slightly better protagonist.)
It would also be heartbreaking seeing Shuichi Die in chapter 1, and also I would like to see how Kokichi and Kaede interact with eachother. I can imagine they could be frenemies, maybe Kokichi could be the new support character after Shuichi, sort of like how Kaito becomes the new support after Kaede.

UDG is a uncomfortable game and that's what made it great. It made you think about things you normally don't and the topic was handled well for a game. At least for a setting like Danganronpa.
It does a whole lot more than other games and mediums who may only have a character or two experience child abuse but isn't the main plot of the story.
For me and from what I've seen from people who LP the game they weren't excited or turned on by Chapter 3, but made uncomfortable and angry and that's a good thing. The funny/not funny moments with Kotoko showing her underwear from tripping over or being stripped you likely are reacting like Komaru who's left silent by the antics. Toko is a serial killer so her laughing along shouldn't be mistaken as what you the player should be doing. And for good measure Kotoko has her real moments to snap you back to reality the horrors she's been through.
And for her wanting to do the same to Komaru with the mini game is a reference towards victims of abusing who become abusers as well some times, something I also learned in shows like L&O SVU. Of course a anime game can't show more care about topics like SA and child abuse, but really what can. It's ultimately a game and wants to do and say more, so that's why the topic just gets one chapter.
And I would praise the game for not having a magical solution to the children's troubles or the city at large.
Would I recommend it? Yeah, but with a warning it covers sensitive topics and those topics are going to be told in the style of Danganronpa and not a real documentary by professionals.

while I do agree with you on some critics, I actually love Toko. she is very interesting character to watch grow out so much from the first game. each and their own taste I guess.
as for kotoko utsugi I didn't have any problem with what she did to the MC, as disgusting as it is, it a problem that exist in real life that people do.
while I was glad the game actually touch this subject without running away from it, the guide scene was a disaster and I agree it was disgusting of the game developers to think the player would enjoy that! it's a shame cause this topic is really real and interesting to talk about the - circle of violence's and abuse in real victims.

This game managed to make me feel ripped off. And i torrented it. Thats an impressive accomplishment.
I wish it was a game about the future foundation capturing the remnants of despair instead with all the survivors of danganronpa 1 being main characters.

I only really liked the Toko character development in UDG.

This is probably the game that had made me stay away from the series. I always hate when games and/or anime have this "lolicon" crap, its probably why i don't see a lot of anime in general. Cause holy hell, is that scene with Kotoku some of the most tone deaf shit in gaming, somehow more tone deaf than YIIK, and possibly more than The Medium.

Children of the corn with danganronpa characters
This game is the equivalent of going to the bathroom and using what you did to make a game...
When I first got into Danganronpa and heard of Ultra Despair Girls, I figured it was another killing game style game but where the cast was all girls.
Despite how that would probably be handled poorly given Danganronpa's track record regarding female characters, the fact that there would be no Teruteru's or similar characters to harass the girls gave me hope it would be a good game.
Then I found out it was a spin off. A janky first person shooter, at that.
Then I watched a playthrough and... Wow. I legitimately cannot understand people who love this game.
If you like certain elements of it, sure, that I get. But the game as a whole is absolutely dreadful. I'd go into detail but it would be a massive rant, so maybe later.
All I'll say now is I kinda wanna see a killing game where the cast is all female. I feel like not a lot of games explore relationships between woman and girls, the way they can be catty and stuff, what different story elements you could explore with that. But yeah not from Spike Chunsoft, I like their games but not the way they tend to handle girls and women -_-

But as said in the video, I hate how they treated this character with all the upskirt shots. She's a CHILD. It was completely unnecessary and completely antithetical to the theme of DONT abuse kids.
I get particularly angry about this because of personal reasons, all I'll say is I do not take kindly to making fun of child SA, which is what this game does by constantly showing her panties and doing upskirt shots. Also by making you do a boss battle where you strip off her clothes.
It's abhorrent and makes me disgusted but you'd think from the way they present it they DONT want you to feel that way, otherwise *why* are they making you see that.
Anyways thank you for calling out the game suggesting that the minigame was "sexy" and the other awful stuff. I'm tired of seeing it handwaved away or "oh just ignore that part, the rest of it is good."

If people can look past it, that's fair enough, I try to look past Mikan in DR2 and just skip through those scenes because it makes me very uncomfortable. But considering how it's such a big part of this game and it's themes, it's so much harder for me to ignore.

I hope I didn't get too heated about UDG it's just weird timing, literally yesterday I finished watching another playthrough of someone going through the game so all my negative feelings towards it resurfaced all over again
I know these games can be important to people so I try not to get too passionate but when UDG handles one of the only things that actually triggers me so poorly... it's upsetting, to put it lightly

the good part of this game is the gameplay not the story. the game plays like babies first resident evil. which as a game SURE i can get behind it. it's not great but that's why you play resident evil afterward cause it's better... The story and the sexual themes this game has are disgusting and like while i liked the idea of seeing the outside world maybe the writers of this game really shouldn't be dealing with these topics cause it sounds like they're not capable of doing so
I watched the youtuber Berleezy’s dr1 and sdr2 playthroughs and i’ve never played ANY of these games myself so when he started playing udg i was so happy but i realized that this game is so vile. very sad that he had to keep playing it although i know he hated it

My friend said hes never going to play this game and hes completley justified in that decision to be honest, I do think the game should have been made, but not in this state, I think alot of foreign games could have their problematic content removed if localization was more than just preparing the game for the market, but that would also be a double edged sword, it could turn into a 4kids situation where everything gets changed to appeal to a market and nothing is the same which would be unfortunate
