Wow, this is a nice device. Thanks for sharing this.

With 1000v 1 a the heaters need to be 10 a and 20 volt if your using big power tubes. IMHO . The curves and info is very help full . Good video again .

Hello! Your video is good, I finished my utracer 6 device last week. You don't talk about Transconductance in the video, but I can see from your measurements that it was perfect based on the data sheet.

Yes, it was a short video. Next time, I plan to cover it more including the curve tracing as well. Thanks.

@jimmysjunkyard I'm enjoying your videos Jimmy. I was wondering if a uTracert 3+ could be modified to enable me to test 300b. I need higher -Vg. Did you look into this? I can't imagine I would need any higher anode voltage than 400V available on the 3+ Thanks , Michael

Hi Michael, I guess you need to consult with Ronald directly on this. I recall there is some modification available, but not sure for higher grid voltage... I dont think you can do more than 400V as the capacitor will be the limit? But again best to discuss with Ronald and maybe get V6 😅. Thanks.

why can't we simply use a donor amp or radio as a test device, modified for analysis?

Go nogo test is fine... but for curve tracing, this dedicated tool would get the job done much better... it can support different tubes as well.

Hello! Is it possible to measure a higher performance tube with utracer and then measure it statically? I am thinking of an analog tube tester where the tube is at a constant anode voltage, I have interesting experiences, I would like to know what you experience.

Hi, so far I'm not really seeing so much different between pulse and consistent HV tester. I have tested bigger tubes like 300B and the result is pretty similar with the manufacturer datasheet which normally use constant HV tester.
But I'm building my RoeTest, which another "Rolls Royce" grade of tube tester (you can search more info for this tester). It's a bit complicated to build, but I trust well worth the result.
      Thanks.

@@jimmysjunkyard Hello! Thank you for your answer, if you have time, try a large tube like e.g. 300b utracer, then put it in a static tester and switch it to anode voltage. Measure it after 20 minutes, I'd be interested in the result. But if you think I can write an email, I don't want too many comments here, you might not be happy about it.

@@Sanyesz855 No worries. I have tested few tubes like 300B and 2A3. The 300B was from Shuguang (Black Treasure) and Takatsuki. Both has measurent from the factory (I think they used Amplitrex). My uTracer showing like 3-4% different only - which I assume this is still very accurate. Thanks.
