Dr. Hook (shortened from Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show in 1975) was an American rock band, formed in Union City, New Jersey. They enjoyed considerable commercial success in the 1970s with hit singles including "Sylvia's Mother", "The Cover of 'Rolling Stone'" (both 1972), "Only Sixteen" (1975), "A Little Bit More" (1976), "Sharing the Night Together" (1978), "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" (1979), "Better Love Next Time" (1979), and "Sexy Eyes" (1980). In addition to their own material, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show performed songs written by the poet Shel Silverstein.

Shel had such a way with words, I can envision what is sung, and it brings me almost to tears. Such a simple song, such deepness to be felt, only Dennis with his magic could deliver such a song.
I love Dr Hook. I saw them a few times at the Midnight Sun in the 70's Great memories of them. Have a Godbless day from Auntgranny I still love all their songs. I hope I never get too old to enjoy and remember them. Thanks fpr the memories.

Thanks for this channel Ronja. These songs bring me to a deep place in my heart ❤️ growing up in the 80’s in white rock bc was something I will never forget!
These guys were a generation before my awakening but I think they wrote my life. They create a place for me to live in like no other band. They were in their glory when I was in my teens. I didn't have an appreciation for them then. They mean so much more to me now, than Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple ever has. Thank you Dennis, Ray and company!!!!
