Video shows Scheffler driving ...as he was reportedly instructed to do....and the officer running towards the vehicle, striking the window. At that point, Scheffler stopped the vehicle. The officer then grabs for the handle. Scheffler opens the door. The officer grabs Scheffler, pulls him out of the car and arrests him. AT NO TIME did Scheffler do ANYTHING that could be, even remotely, construed as resisting or assaulting. Scheffler appears to be very compliant. The report from the officer says that he "attached HIMSELF to the vehicle and was dragged 10-15 yards" at which time he was injured and clothes damaged. Where was the officer "Attached to the vehicle"? At no point did the vehicle drag him along as he stated. He ran up and jumped into the air and hit the window. That's all I see here. So not only was he not recording, we now have video evidence that he lied in his report. And what exactly was the "Disciplinary action" taken? I'm guessing a conversation that gets documented in his personnel file? I'm a big fan of law enforcement usually, and being willing to stand in the way of danger is a kind of bravery I admire, but this isn't that. This cop is a problem. An overreaction led to a unwarranted arrest, after which a superior officers reviewed the "non-footage", and then making a decision to say the camera was not on. So, Scottie chooses to continue driving into the driveway even after being told not to continue by a police officer in a stopped traffic situation? Maybe he had his window up and couldn't hear the officer at the moment? From the angle you see Scottie's car pull in the driveway entry, its clear he bypassed all the stopped traffic ahead by taking the left lane. But, maybe he thought the left lane was open and it was okay for people going into the property of the golf course to enter and that time. Why did the police office hit Scottie's car what appears to be an unidentified object (a towel maybe?) to get his attention and stop him from going any further? Was the police officer running after getting off the ground because he said he was hit by Scottie and dragged? Appears to be several other people in the general area, but why wasn't they trying to stop Scottie the same manner the police officer was? All the evidence shows Scottie didn't do anything wrong so he should be good to go.
