  • Its completely the wrong time, and competition is heavy, but I go to the north side of Melbourne to trash pick and scrap what’s left on the curb.

    Hey Ply don’t complain about the weather there, I am watching this trip 6 months after you made it.And we in New York are getting 2 to 3 feet of snow this weekend .I think you would rather have the heat than snow.Good video and thanks for the ride along.

    I say you did alright though for what it was. Maybe if you do go back there go when most are at work. Just maybe most vehicles will be gone. Enjoyed 👍👍

      Yes considering it was a last minute decision, it wasn’t such a bad day. I learnt a lot and know for sure what time not to go trash picking 😆 Thanks Barry!

    That electric skillet you left in first pile was aluminium.

      Yes you’re right. I don’t know why I’m so disrespectful to domestic aluminium 😅 I always overlook it. I’ll keep trying to get better. Thanks Donna 🤙🏽

    A shortbread tin full of random buttons will sell online to crafters. Please try different things. You just dont know what will be a payday.

      Yes thanks Wendy. I checked online and they definitely sell on eBay. I’m pretty fresh to this trash picking so everything is new. Learning each time 😊

      Old horn, antler, & mother of pearl. Plastic, not so much. That was a pretty tin with the Scottish whistle graphics. Tins also do well on the 'Bay.

    If evry printer, modem and fan was $10 you would be so rich, landfills must be full of them.
    Is the wire in those kid cars just junk wire since you dont take that?

    • @PolyProphet
      @PolyProphet  Před 3 lety

      Yeah I know right. There would be so many in landfills. It’s not junk it’s a little fiddly for me 😅

    You are lucky to not to have competition to trash picking ! Unlike America , lots of trash pickers , and dumpster divers . I wish I can do that in Japan too ! But Japan is so different , be very strict about trash !

      Shout out to the bums and trash rats!!!

    • @cheryldempsey1248
      @cheryldempsey1248 Před 2 lety +1

      I call BS on your statement Daisy. American scrappers I know look for the opportunity to make money. Scrap for metal and scrap for extra $, pick up what they can, when they can, resale and recycle. The ones that leave money sitting on the curb or in the dumpsters are lazy. The ones that scrap an item or antique item when they could sell it for 10 times what the yard pays are extremely LAZY. Besides you being rude, you are definitely not speaking for All Americans.

    • @brockshields9336
      @brockshields9336 Před 2 lety

      That's a bit of a snobbish rat of you Daisy. He's wearing gloves and he doesn't dig through the nasty, stinky bits. He doesn't even like greasy grills, despite their weight. Lol! He and other scrappers are providing a service in recycling, instead of it all ending up as a massive landfill.
      And by the way, bums are what are living on the sidewalks of the blue cities in California, Oregon, Illinois, etc., etc.. They're digging in the trash for food scraps, like rats. That's a whole helluva different kind of scrapping. Off my soapbox now.
