    Thanks Tarin. I have a question. Why does the act of belief save us? Why does God require belief from us to save us?

      Belief isn’t what saves us. God saves us when we turn to Him. Belief helps us turn to God. One sinner on the cross turned to Jesus, while the other scoffed at Him. We need enough faith to put our trust in Christ.

      @@TCGriswold_ICXC ROMANS 3:20-26
      *Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight:* for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
      21But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
      *22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:*
      *23For all have sinned,* and come short of the glory of God;
      *24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:*
      25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
      *26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.*
      EPHESIANS 2:4-9
      But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
      5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
      6And hath raised us up together, and *made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:*
      7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
      *8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:*
      *9Not of works, lest any man should boast.*

      @@TCGriswold_ICXC is turning to god a process that is different in eastern orthodoxy? What does the act look like?

      Repenting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and turning away from sin. I discuss three essential points in one of my books. www.audible.com/pd/B0BQZFFKTR/?source_code=AUDFPWS0223189MWT-BK-ACX0-334465&ref=acx_bty_BK_ACX0_334465_rh_us

    Does this not invite the idea that we may live as we want all of our lives so long as we convert at the end we are saved?

      That sounds like a high risk strategy.

      It will be hard to switch at the end after living a life of sun for so long, like you might reach a state where you are completely blind to God, or you can’t convert cause you are in love with sin

      @@TCGriswold_ICXC I appreciate that. But can someone so heinous be saved. What does scripture say in relation to atrocities such as these where a turn to Jesus is made late in life. There is nothing strictly prohibiting it I suppose.
