Great memories 🙂... I unboxed my boys timberyard set out of storage yesterday in anticipation of the new grandson having some fun with it. It had been in storage for ~20years so the locos are all gummed but a quick service fixed that. Great Vid' thanks for sharing.

I had this set as a kid! I had so much fun with it, the Thomas that came with it was my favorite out of all the Thomas toys I had at the time because of the white running board being more accurate to the show and I also loved Terence! I don't know about anyone else, but mine also came with the rare blue Tomica World video tape, which I watched every day because back then I thought it was the coolest thing to watch a video of toy trains. Did anyone else have the Tomica World video tape or was I the only one?

The M truck is the one that came with that set. Thankfully, the model it's based on does survive in the hands of Twitter use ThomasTankMerch, who revealed the truck had the date 9 December 1924 written on the bottom.
This set also came with a white running board Thomas, the only instance of such outside of Asia. You got the one that came with the jet engine.

The Thomas included is from the Thomas and the Jet Engine pack, but I do like its inclusion here. Terrence and the ‘M’ Troublesome Truck are exclusive items in this set.
Edit: The Thomas with a white running board was also exclusive here, but was common in Japan. I do have the Plarail Thomas I got from the previous owner, but does have some wear and tear.
Now I think I’ll have to look for the right Thomas. I was thinking maybe it was generic but if it’s exclusive - I probably should try to get it

It is a generic Thomas, but that version’s more common in Japan than in the US

This set is a prime example of the classic more simple sets being the best ones! As for your question about if you should try get the Missing pieces of the set or not. I say if you can find then for A REALLY GOOD PRICE like in a lot or something then you should but if not it dosent make much of a difference really

I never owned any of the TOMY Thomas motor road and rail sets because my parents bought me take along instead. Nevertheless this set is nostalgic mainly because of the play feature and Terence
