  • This chart has some cool tech in it that is consistently used! It has that repeated doublestep motif that goes to the repeated sound bite and then it transitions to a jump into a footswitch!

So crisp. Any advice for focusing on improving no bar skill? I've decided I just like playing no bar so much more than regular but man it gets hard at 15+.

No bar player here, I'll try to help as best as I can.
A lot of advice regarding foot technique can be carried from bar to no bar play, so my advice will relate more to posture and your center of gravity, which become more important in no bar play.
For posture, your stamina and play depends a lot on how you stand. Leaning too much or having your chest looking too far down can be costly for your stamina, while standing somewhat straight can help with breathing and recovering stamina. The key is finding the right balance for you since it depends on each person's build and skillset. Your posture will also affect your center of gravity, which changes how you take different step patterns in the game.
And that's the next part. Playing around with your center of gravity is important to maintain a certain flow during step patterns. The best way to explore this is with streamy songs like Nephilim Delta (X3), Exotic Ethnic (DDRMAX), Sumidagawa Karenka ESP (X3) and others with a relatively straightforward pattern like Polovtsian Dances and Choruses ESP (SN).
The good news is that you may be able to take twists and lateral play more comfortably once you become more skilled in no bar, but first try to find your natural play flow in 9-13s and leave 15s for the final stage.
Inevitably, there will be a level that will be difficult, but the key is that once you start clearing consistently certain songs from a certain level, you'll likely have a good time trying with some songs from the next level.
Some good baby 15s for no bar play to try out are ナナホシ ESP, My Drama ESP (if available), HyperTwist ESP, Mirai Da Future ESP, Persian Land ESP, Roppongi Evolved ver B ESP, Osaka Evolved Type 1 ESP are a few I can consider relatively easy that I also remember.
And for the future, two good baby 16s include Mei (冥) and AI.
Hope this helps. The best thing you can do is to just keep practicing and to be reasonable with yourself and your expectations. Took me about 9 years from struggling with 11s to being able to clear three 18s in a row, clearing Lindwurm and Over The Period CSP and almost clearing Egoism 440 CSP last weekend, so results are gonna come from consistent practice (whether it be weekly, biweekly, 20 songs per week, etc.) and improving on weak spots and problem charts.
There's a lot I could say but hopefully this helps a bit if not encourage you to continue improving no bar. If there's any other questions and such, feel free to ask. Good luck!

@VideoGameStarChannelSupreme thank you for the complete and thoughtful advice. I'll try to incorporate the posture and center of gravity advice. I feel like I am close to AAA on of the easy 14s so I think that will be my current goal.
