Hendon Hooker Injury: Torn ACL Knee Ligament
Vložit
- čas přidán 6. 02. 2011
- The anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, is one of the four main ligaments connecting the femur to the tibia. The ACL provides stability as you move your knee. If your ACL tears through completely, your doctor may recommend surgery to repair it.

just finished my second surgery due to my second ACL tear. Too anyone who wants to give up after getting this injury DONT! this is only a set back but it’s not permanent! The work is hard but it gets ur mental health set and ready to come back stronger and more fit
Thanks. I needed to here that. I’m sorry you went through that twice. Hope your recovery is going well. I m in a wheelchair and still managed tear my acl when I stood to do laundry. I’ve been through the whole reconstructing my spine after I shattered my old one and gone through all that 12 years ago. But now I am with a torn ACL now and once they do work on it my mobility is going to go down and I just I’m scared about the pain and what it is it’s gonna do to my mobility and my mental health. And of course I watched this video before I’m scheduled to have surgery. And that might not have been the best idea. Thanks again for your words.
Thanks man, I tore my maniscus and acl and this made me feel alot better :).
Bro take care of your damn knees man how you get 2

Nucleus, you definitely have one of my favourite CZcams channels! So awesome.
I had this surgery and it went great. Was better then i expected. I was off crutches in 1.5 weeks
Just friendly advice for others, after surgery and during recovery please also take care of your mental. 2019 I had this injury and now in 2022 it still lingers on my mind heavy, sometimes I feel the pain just by thinking about it which is bad on my end. Recovery starts immediately after injury guys and you recover forever after this, even after 5 years it might still need you to recover. Take care of yourselves
Tore my ACL twice! Tore it again a month after my first full recovery and I'm now at the tail end of my physical therapy two years after my initial tear. This video makes me knee hurt. Protect your knees!
Haha I feel you I tweaked it up more than once after therapy
My older brother tore his ACL in football. He couldn't walk for two weeks. That didn't stop him from walking, driving, and working. If one of you broke your acl, I wish you good luck!
Had my acl reconstruction in February 2017. I’m feeling stronger every day 💪🏾
TheGooner4life what kind of graft did you use bro?
You are the only person to say something positive here
Daniel Lara I personally used tendons from my Quadriceps
Hell yeah
I got this surgery last week and all these photos and animations are exactly what my doctor showed me and explained(except I used my hamstring not my patella tendon) but great video!
Watching sports updates and searched on "Torn ACL" and found this video. Amazing. CZcams started out sharing videos online, but now so much educational material available. I'm very fortunate to see the evolution of tech. I wonder how technology will be used in education 5 years from now. Love Technology.
Thank science.
Welcome "5 years later"
Hi, I'm on my second day from meniscus and acl surgery, so far all good! I have no pain, just a little swelling but overall better than i imagine!
Monday i go for physio!
I’m need surgery for both too😭
me too, im waiting for schedule. waa. what happen to the patella after they remove
@Shahid Khan no bro, you cant go back to normal, i have friends and coaches who have had acl tear, and they cant go back to normal.
How are you so far ? :)
This surgery fu*ked my knee forever and I have to be very careful because few instances since then have been very close to get my knee destroyed again. Make sure you train your knee very good and hope for the best.
How is it now?
Can u play any sports?
I'll soon, be having this surgery. Played football since I was a toddler and in the past 10 years I played 6 days a week and it's soooo depressing when it's taken away from you because of injury.. Playing football was my place of peace nothing more satisfying than hitting a sweet shot that rattles the goal. Dont ever give up on your hobbies from injury people!
Are you fully recovered now?
I tore mine playing college basketball. During the hyperextension my foot went towards my face, tearing the back of knee, severing the ACL, as well as ruining a part of my meniscus. Absolutely excruciating pain... I was hoping a team mate would come over and knock me out with a punch. A week after my surgery I collapsed while visiting the hospital to get my stitches removed. I awoke in the ER with doctors and nurses all around me... I found out I had suffered a pulmonary embolism(PE). This is where a blood clot or blood clots form in your leg(s) and then become dislodged and travel through your heart and settle in your lungs. There's an 85% chance of death with people who suffer (PE's). There is an increased risk of DVT's and PE's after leg surgeries. My advice to anyone undergoing leg surgery is to ask your doctor for anticoagulants before, during and especially after surgery.
I was able to play basketball fully about 1.5 years later... with ~25% reduced jumping ability. An ACL injury also has a mental effect afterwards... as in being worried and fearing your knee isn't strong enough or it will happen again. Time and training deals with this.
YT recommended a video about Achilles Injury, then this one discussing Knee Surgery.
And I watched them both 'cause of KD & KT... A speedy recovery for them.♥

Bruh I tore my ACL 3 years ago and I still have to wait another 6-7 months for surgery lol RIP
I did this surgery twice, left and right knee. One year recovery and two months rehab. I was popping pain killer like candy during the first month or so.
watching this vedio makes my knee hurts...
Yesterday I did an ACL surgery, and I didn’t look it up online in anyway possible.
Today in my suggestion box I found this Video!!
I tore my acl in my right leg in high school . Had the same surgery BUT I opted to get a donor acl, best decision I could have made . Quicker recovery time and honestly my right knee is stronger than my left knee .
I’ve torn my ACL twice, once on each knee. Tore them 2 years apart.
For those here for the 1st time or just after surgery. First few days are going to painful, not going to lie. But it gets better. Make sure you do your exercises. And if you plan on playing sports again then take each PT session seriously and strive for a goal. Your going to have the thought/feeling in the back of your head but you need to overcome it to be back at 100%. It will take time so don’t rush anything. Chin up 👍
Alberto, how do u feel now? i m gonna have the surgery soon :/
Samira Ismayilova How’s your surgery?
@@t.glow.official Sorry for the late response. I feel great now, the knee feels great. I'm back out playing again. All I can say is to take the physical therapy seriously to strengthen your leg muscles and take your time, don't rush it!
@@albertoEFC Thanx for the response. I wish the pain never visit u again. I did not have the surgery as the doctor advised to have PRP therapy. A month passed and I feel much better.
@@menace2societies For my surgeries they took a piece of my patellar tendon and placed it where the ACL would go. Overall the surgery went well and was walking with a crutch after 10-days to 2 weeks. Its been a few years since my last surgery but I'm back out playing like I use to and going on 6 mile runs without a problem. Just need to make sure you do physical therapy and take your time.
That shit doesn't work, my nigga D Rose keep getting injured.
😂😂😂
that's because his ACL is made of glass
his acl is made up of sticks
W
Well did you see what they did technically...technically he doesn’t have an ACL he has a piece of something holding it together so I understand why he gets hurt again and again
I actually had my ACL grow back after full tear skiing on Jan 9, 2023. Did a about 200 hours of physical therapy in the first 9 months. Surgeon opted to go for conservative care due to how well my PT was going. Kept seeing me every 30 days. At 9 months, he told me I went from a grade 3 pivot shift to below 1 and barely noticeable Lachman test. Told me he didn't need an MRI to tell me that my ACL reattached as the small pivot shift ended in a hard stop. Did MRI anyway and confirmed. Not fully healed but still healing. I keep doing leg workouts and now I can run, sprint, play light soccer, tennis and do conservative twisting and changes of direction. No tibial translation. Doc said to wait another year and keep doing the PO and work to get to 100% integrity and quad strength back to 100% (right now its 80% vs the other leg). When i started PT my quad was at 40%, badly atrophied. I will know in another year if I can do all the stuff I was doing before and skiing again.
we gonna talk about how the title has jamies winston even tho the video was made 10 years ago

Whos here after klays injury?
I'm here again for the Klays injury again
I've torn my ACL 3 times. and just after the 1st time, you lose confidence playing even after fully recovering. the back of your mind never lets you forget what it felt like to tear it and your body hesitates to some movements you normally wouldn't. i don't blame D Rose for not playing as well. Its half mind games and half recovery.
Wow you must be brave to keep playing sports through so many acl tears
bobbi B I too broke my ACL today which is third time. while playing cricket.
bobbi B
damnn how?
i mean can you explain how it happened
I sprained my right ankle twice in 3 months when I was 18 years old, and that was the only injuries i remembered that grounded me. Compare to Torned ACL or some more serious injury. I had Never touched a basketball again in the next decade till recently... It still give me PDST every time when I land from a jump. I think any injuries cause more damage to the mental state than the actual physical.
Having had this done not once but twice brought me here. The video is true if you only have this done once pretty short surgery and not a real long recovery time. For my second one I was in surgery for almost 8 hours, spent a week in the hospital, 6-8 weeks for therapy, and a lifetime of pain. This was in the military and they had to remove all of the hardware they had installed the first time.
I feel weak whenever I see these videos

7 NFL torn ACL’s happened this last weekend alone!
This year probably more but the title is weird like if it predicted winstons ACL injury
I had this surgery before, I can't dunk anymore (got about half my forearm above the rim prior), but I can still get my full hand over the rim; I'm not nearly as fast/quick as I was either... Honestly a monkey can do this.... this comment would be relevant to like 3D printing and what not, but they simply tear a piece of a knee bone to replace another more important piece of bone.
Left knee FULL acl tear in oct 2015 - no surgery yet and managing thanks to strong supporting muscles. But can't jog, let along run or jump. Put on weight due to this. Oct 2017 - moped skidded and instinctively put the right leg on the ground leading to a viscous hyper extension absolutely decemating acl and meniscus. Got it reconstructed feels solid. Time has come to get the long pending left knee fixed once n for all and get onto the fitness pathway. There's nothing as painful as your knee giving up and interfering with your blood vessels. The most monumental pain ever. Never ever would want to go through it. And yes, doesn't matter how much of physio or exercises or back up muscles you activate or cortisol injection nothing will ever come close to your natural state. The most wisest thing is getting surgery done followed by sane yet disciplined physio to back on track. Don't rush into things. Human body heals with time and time almost heals everything. Stay positive!!
