I remember the demo from when you played it. Fun game. Please carry on.
I was certain I'd seen him play it before. When he didn't mention it at the start, I was wracking my brain to try figure out who I'd watched play it. 🙃
There's a lovely line in the opening sequence in the standard game (I'm guessing RCE is playing a sandbox game to have no cutscenes), when the little girl asks her father(?) if she can be a hero like him one day. I can't remember the exact wording of his response but it's something like "Heroes give people hope, yeah? You've always given me hope. That must mean you've always been a hero." Very sweet
You can opt out of the story in any playmode. He probably cut those scenes out, though. Sandbox mode doesn't have the milestones.
Fun fact, Sand is one of the most abundant resources but we could still experience a Silicon shortage for computer chips and stuff even though sand has silicon because not all sand is high quality enough to use. Not exactly "fun" :p But the sandsifter in the game having good and bad regions totally makes sense xD
We will never experience silicon shortage. As we use more silicon, and deplete our current resources, silicon will become more expensive. Price will act as a signal. This will make low quality sand to be more viable for silicon production, and technology for silicon extraction and production will improve. Thats what happened with oil. We were gonna run out, but we haven't. Same goes for silicon.
Not all sand is silica sand, there are also limestone sand from coral, black sand from lava and red sand from granite.
Another way to interpret it is some sand has more rocks than others, like the sand RCE is mining only has a few rocks in it but the sand in the low productivity areas is mostly big rocks and dirt with a little sand.
@@erentas4451 isn't "prices get up, as there aren't enough ressources to keep it up" the definition of "shortage"?
Love SteamWorld franchise/IP it's so good. Once I got the notification the new game dropped the first thought I had was "I am gonna need a real civil engineer video of this." Wasn't expecting it the same day. What a great surprise.
The mining portion of this game gets me wishing for a new Dungeon Keeper. It would be so cute...
The Steamworld Dig games are a lot of fun and now that this is finally out I should probably give it a try!
An architect must have liked the aesthetic of having the train travel under that rock.
The way the buildings jiggle is somehow both satisfying but also super uncomfortable 😂
So it's Anno on top and Dungeon Keeper at the bottom.
I love the ridiculously large buildings and how they wobble.
Matt, you're convincing me to buy insane amounts of city planner games wth lmao
Your Factory Buildings like (Charcoal, Moonshine etc.) don´t need to be in Range of the Housing, only in Range of a Warehouse. Warehouse Inventory is connected between Warehouses.
7:31 Engineers sure know how to handle their shaft
Remember when you played this when it was a demo, I love this game
I want more of this game, I am addicted !!
Just saw the video after taking a break for lunch.
Been playing this since its launch at 9am.
Loving it!
Saw this on Gamepass and decided to download and play, needed a new city builder but with a twist and so far it's really fun to play. Still playing the tutorial mode and it's very informative and doesn't seem to rush you at all which I like
Just completed the game this evening, I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Very well balanced, looking forward to 100%ing it for more of a challenge 3:)
Already really enjoyed the demo, would be cool to see where you can take this in the future!
This looks fun! I hope you play more of this!
Great video! always showing your skills and making it a great time. Never stop engineering!
love how it has a similiar system like Anno 1800 with different level of people who do various jobs as well
Yayy I’m glad that you went back to this game :) the demo was cool
The art in this game is stunning. So it plays like anno, but has that underground instance. Propably need to check this out myself
What's more, it's like OG Anno, just improved with modern development of QoL features.
Would love a series on this!
Awesome playthrough, I hope tht it can become a series.
I just finished the first map. It's shorter than expected, but I hope the other maps have some fun twists and add some replayability
Im definitely getting this game, loved the demo, been waiting for the full release, so im off to buy it!
Please continue with this game. It looks so fun and there are enimies when you go down furthur in the mine a couple levels
this game is really fun please play more
Dwarf Fortress awaits you, RCE. The dwarves require your engineering prowess. You know you want to. It's Dwarfcember.
Loved the demo, amped to play the full game!!!
I played this game for like 6 hours today and didn't even see the time pass. I was hoping to see you play it!
Edit: 10 minutes into the video and im going back to the game because watching Matt play made me want to play lol
I would love to see more of this. Keep it up!
I really enjoyed this video. I hope you make it a series. Cheers.
Please make a series out of this
Just spent all day playing, loving it!
Yay finally a game I played several hours of before you make a video. Always wanted this viewing experience
Day 12 of waiting for Matt to upload Mindustry Part 2.
FFOTD: The biggest "block" that you can build in the game is Tetrative Reconstructor in the Units tab, its size is 9 by 9 blocks, quite big.
Beat the game in a day. Going back for the 100%. Pretty fun
I literally got this game today played it for like 2 hours and hopped on youtube to listen to while doing dishes and bam here it is.
8:04 Cats vs. dogs ... Nice touch
I was hoping you were going to play this for release
I would love to see what Matt could come up with if he played Scrap Mechanic
I would like to see more of this!
: )
If you really liked that underground section, you'd probably like Dungeon Keeper 2. It's an old game, but it's really fun.
"Engineers survive on burgers." Facts.
Also "Hammer-ception" 😄
my favorite architect channel
I’m so darn happy with this game :)
i loved the demo of this game. ill have to get this when i get paid next week
I would love to watch you play more of this please 🙏
You must do another episode of this game
I remember the demo video, you need to make this a series please
You should make this a series.
I just started this game. It is a good one.
Please continue playing this game
This game looks amazing.
Oh, i remember that game's beta that u played. It was a very visually beautiful game.
Def some Anno vibes. Likin it a lot!
Can confirm us engineers like a drink.
I started this game today while waiting on my phone on hold for an hour. It's quite amusing. Playing on gamepass
The mine feels very dungeon keeper!
i understand why you play abit games before recording it but there is something very enjoyable by us expiriancing the game with you, eitherway you are really nice to watch tnx
Love your stuff anyway but giving you the like for the cats vs dog clip my favourite childhood movie 😂👍🏻
Timberborn really needs a move tool, can you talk with the devs Matt? @Timberborn, please give us a move tool, or make it part of the game, a service that builders have to do.
In RCE's vision of the old west there was a salon on every corner for when the cowboys came to town.
The whole video i was getting MAJOR déjà vu. At then end when you said you had played the demo a year ago it finally clicked why i knew this game 😂
Matt.. How much longer do we need to wait for Timberborn to return? I miss them so much 🦦🦦
I think until the next big update pushes through out of its testing phase (at least that is my assumption)
@@HillHomeGaming Now I miss them even more!! MATT! When can we see our beaver babies again? Please 😭😭
That rock is most likely to be a real thing like in the US Midwest where there are lots of "balancing" rocks
It has finally released, I thought it would take forever
7:46 is it just me or is this the rock from the cars movie?
Please continue so much fun
Robocows, the only steak that requires an elctromagnet and the jaws of life to eat.
this game is super fun
How come I have never heard of this game? Looks really fun! Its on sale on steam, so I came across your video by looking up a review. good work!
Matt please play more of this I enjoyed it a ton when you first played and I also do now so please play more
4:16 Devs looking at this be like: (referring to the dude in the back ground)
Matt.. you are horribly wrong on the bridge review. That is a solid rock nature made bridge. Has stood the test of time for millenia. And it opens a huge space for your bots to expand and explore. 8.9.... js
Reminds me very much of Anno, at least the upper part.
I literally played this yesterday
I was hoping youd cover this one
More parts please!
Did you know that (Anno 1800) game in steam is like city skylines but with boats and destruction
Cool game! I wish you'd play the opposite (but same), Frostpunk.
The game is good but how didn't the robots get the hint about moonshine?
More Plz!!
after watching you do the demo. i have been waiting for you to do a release video
Love it
Bugermiester is German for "mayor" or "head of city". It's an obvious play on words.
I watched the PS trailer and thought of RCE 😂. But Matt is way ahead
Play much more of this!
That's Numberwang.
there better be a part 2
I love this!
Eye-roan-ee-um. Ironium :)
Part 2 pls?
Check it out SteamWorld Build here: disobey.cc/SWB_RealCivilEngineer
Thanks to Thunderful for sponsoring!
