The funny thing is that Thanos still “won” technically. His goal during the final battle of Endgame was to “create a new universe teeming with life, that knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given. A grateful universe.”
Yes. Thanos was defeated. But when Hulk brought everyone back, you could say that everyone was grateful to be back. It birthed a new beginning. They knew what they lost but the focus was primarily on the appreciation of what they had back.

Thanos was always right , in the new series eternals it’s said he wanted to wipe out half the population but mainly to prevent the birth of celestials , the strongest species in marvel comics
