Lake Beach Metal Detecting with the Nokta Triple Score

I went out to the local freshwater lake to do some more metal detecting with the Nokta Triple Score. I found an old musket ball and tons of clad.

I found a ball like that appx two weeks ago on an inland beach in New England with a Nokta Legend in beach mode. Mine was about .52mm. I don't have a positive ID on it yet - it's about the same size, same dimpling, but more rounded on both sides so whatever it hit, if it was fired, and not dropped, was a lot softer. I still can't figure out what musket balls are doing on a beach anyway. Maybe hunting if it's fresh water and animals would drink there? Target practice?

I haven’t measured this one yet. But the lake I was detecting was not created until 1970, so all the property used to be wilderness. Could have been from game hunting.

.52mm is about 20 thousandth of an inch and 52 mm is 2 inches.....now what size is your find?
