I have a friend who was an Easter Star and AKA. She said she left the Eastern Stars because they used to do weird chants. She left AKA too.

We literally witnessed a young lady have a mental breakdown in the middle of a back to school college spirit night service that was held by a COGIC Superintendent who is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and his wife is a member of Delta Sigma Theta. The lights were down low, the youth and young adults had glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets on and the Superintendent called out each fraternity and sorority. As he begin to call them out, they started yelling out their Greek call, for example the Deltas yelled “ooo oop” and the AKAs yelled “skee wee,” and so forth. Then the guest musical artist told everyone to in the sanctuary to go wild. All of a sudden this young lady started screaming and losing her mind. The Superintendent and his wife, along with several other ministry leaders tried to cast the devil out but could not. Eventually they had to call the police because she manifested violent behaviors and became a threat to herself and others. A few days later, my husband and I privately met with our, then pastor and superintendent, to express our concerns. We stated many of the facts mentioned in this video and we were convinced they welcomed the devil in when they allowed members of fraternities and sororities to call out to each other. It’s impossible to cast out a devil that you invite in. The superintendent was not happy with the conversation. We tried our very best to be respectful, which is why we called a private meeting with him. Shortly after, we peacefully left that church, eventually leaving the Church of God in Christ. Both my husband and I were licensed by the Church of God in Christ and were never, until now affiliated with any other denomination. He is a minister and
I am an evangelist. We grew up, got saved, baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost in COGIC. He grew up under the ministry of the late Bishop Samuel L. Smith and I grew up under Elder Elvis Fuller. Our pastors were both true holy men of God like Bishop Wooden. You cannot imagine how difficult it has been to leave the only church we’ve known but God has given us strength, peace and grace. We are in a very good multicultural Pentecostal church now, with sound leadership. However we still love the Church of God in Christ and pray God will raise up more leaders like Bishop Wooden, whose only agenda is to please our Lord Jesus Christ. We live near Memphis (the headquarters) and I can tell you most of the COGIC leadership here is asleep at the wheel or backslidden. Maybe one day God will send us back but right now we just pray for our COGIC brothers and sisters. These are very dark spiritual times and we all have to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. Again, God bless you Bishop Wooden and please stay on the wall. To even allow such act in the house of God is crazy and we can truly see the falling away happening in the body of believers… smh just to belong with the world when Jesus Christ is more than enough! Wow..what a powerful testimony! In 2018, I repented, denounced, and renounced my nearly 10 years of membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. My husband did the same in 2020 after 30 years of membership in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. God told us and showed us why our membership in these secret societies was against His will. I continue to pray for others who are still members, including those in church leadership because many who are in the organizations believe it's okay, based on their leaders being members.

No, it won't. Sororities and fraternities are service organizations. Do so much for their communities. They don't have pastor anniversaries that fleece the flock. They serve for sure.
During black history month many of our black church's have a special recognition during worship for the Devine 9. Also, members that are masons are even given recognition. I've have personally witnessed several pastor's holler out their frat group and even give their hand signs. People do pledge for different reasons, however if you even suggest to them to give it up, lord what words come forth from their mouths shall not be written or repeated. We can't serve two master's. Did not know anything about the organization, never heard about it at the time. God answered me 3 days later and told me No! in a authoritative voice. TGBTG for this video! Last year the Lord spoke to me so clearly about serving 2 masters. I had to threw out everything that I owed attached to SGRho. Prior to the Lord speaking to me, as much as I tried to fit in with those ladies, it NEVER worked. They ostracized me because I would not let the haze me and I spoke out about it. It has been 8 years and after I crossed, I never received my ritual book so I didn’t even know what was in it. I have yet to write my letter of renounce but after watching this I am going to write it and send it certified. I need to know that they received it so I can be released officially from this cult.

And again, Bishop Wooden is on point... I joined Latin sorority many years ago. My reason was for discovery and connecting in that area of my ethnicity as I'm mixed. So I joined. Long story short, I was a part of it while I was in school, I stayed connected with a few and after leaving school I had no interest in participating in sorority events... I recall attending one, post school. I believe that was a God-Thing. Fast-forward, within the last few years on into this year, I began learning of the things that is being spoken of in this video... making vows "covenant agreements," etc... I had repented and renounced earlier on to consciously correct the error of my way, but again did so in January (this year), renouncing and denouncing all things connected as it was made clear that these organizations are not of God.

Thanks for the discussion. I have shared other videos from people explaining this to a Greek letter organization member. They always use the community and charity for the reasons for joining the most. They want an identity or have a need for networking and status. Some have self-esteem issues. I know of one who pledged a sorority because of this. The pride and arrogance that come with this is sad. I am glad I never pledged at my HBCU. It brings curses among you. Many have died and are psychologically traumatized for life. There are plenty of CZcams videos of folks denouncing these organizations.

Bishop Wooden can you PLEASE do a video like this, a conversation about this Hebrew Israelite movement, that’s growing traction?? I know you have mentioned it before, not being biblical, but I need to have something to refer back to because it’s gaining steam fast and it’s hard to find biblical truth on the matter, ESPECIALLY from a black preacher.

So glad that you're doing this. When I was a little girl holiness pastors would warn about these groups. But....with the teaching of "the word of faith" all santification teaching went away; including all greek secret groups.
James 5:12 tells us to take no oath. This is a requirement to enter ANY Sorority / Fraternity. And what they fail to realize is when they take these oaths they enter covenant /agreement with many who are not "Christian" (term used lightly) but many don't believe at all. the Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked. awesome study and video. I had a similar situation with an old pastor of mine who so happen to be (COGIC) as well. But I questioned him about the APhiA paddle he had on his wall and the lic plate frame on his car. His response was that he has not been an active member in years and don't even pay his dues anymore. My question was if you are no longer active why still represent, cause you are giving others the lic to enter into something you say you no longer believe in. At that point just like the Bishop said "The blood is no longer on my hands". Because I was raised not to question authority and I truly believed he loved the Lord I stayed silent until God whipped me and gave me no rest until i opened my mouth. So Bishop I know you need no applause or hand claps, but I stand with you in your fight for the the righteous. As I often say we are living in a day where EVERYBODY has a right but the Righteous. I think it’s disrespectful to God and also doesn’t take into consideration how those may be feel who were rejected and not given an opportunity to participate. This is interesting and true. I only wish they would've gone deeper into what these greek entities these organizations represent mean spiritually-idols/demons. I've always wondered what business do Black people have with ancient greek culture? Glad for what was brought out if nothing else. I personally see a lot of Black men & women do it to "get ahead" when it actually makes you a respector of person, which is not Biblical. Also, rather sticky topic in the COGIC church because the current presiding Bishop's son in law flashes all his frat symbols and colors, and his famous daughter KiKi was in a movie about sorority life...hmm...it's not just these greek organizations but within the church circles, all these accolades and constant honor neing given to man- not to mention all the rings, robes and necklaces being worn. It's all a big mess.

When joining a Greek D9 org you literally make a vow of a lifetime commitment to a Greek god/goddess and the org. There are rituals involved. Prayers, hymns and twisted scriptures are involved. No comparison. I know because I joined one in 1982 and recently renounced.
Please help me on this one. Judaism is mentioned in the Bible by Jesus in the New Testament and God often referred to Hebrews directly, in the Old Testament But I can't help but notice, Christianity is never mentioned by neither God or Jesus, throughout the whole text. I don't have all the answers. Can anyone explain in a few words, how the top diety, never directly mentions Christianity throughout their doctrine or lessons? That is a great question. Your answer is because it is a group just like the ones they are speaking on. It also has rituals and hazing in it's history. Jesus called His followers disciples and disciples only. The hypocrisy is crazy from the Christian church.

There’s “ No” name of any religious order given by The High!!! When you join any church you take a convenient and extended the right hand. Where is that setup in the Bible? Then you quote different scriptures to support your narrative, theory or doctrine? Let’s look at the position of being a bishop. Outline that set of protocols you had to go through to become one. Let’s review the Apostles creed (Catechumen) I’m just asking.
I understand where you are coming from with this. That's why these "debates" are frivolous and distract from faith in Jesus Christ. For every point that is argued by these esteemed gentlemen, one could easily counter it. This doctrinal back and forth has being going on for years.
My advice to people is to trust and believe in God and the redemption through Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Let the Holy Spirit guide your conscious.
I think many churches spend an inordinate amount of time telling people what not to do and very little time showing them the freedom and liberty that is available in Christ.

There’s no comparison. Pledging a D9 sorority or fraternity involves lifetime vows, rituals, praise and worship to a Greek god/goddess.

Sororities and fraternities do more community service than any preacher or church in any given community. So, really, who is a Christian after all. Check out your Black communities. Cut out preacher anniversaries, that which are sinfully fleecing the flock. Let the membership choose deacons and leaders, have a serious financial committee, visit the sick, and shut in, have strong positive programs for youth and young people, help the broken, hungry, and homeless, bring souls to Christ. Do all you should be doing instead of downing very important service organizations. Get called and live the faith. Have you looked at money? Sure, you don't want any of that, fleecer.
That doesn't make you a. Christian. Don't be fooled. Your good works don't save you. So it doesn't matter how much food they do, doesn't mean you serve God.
Unfortunately, a lot of what I have heard is that the two presenters are under informed on some levels, and ill- informed on many others. I don’t think it would serve to be effective arguing a point in the comment section, but I do wish that these two guys Understood more about Greek culture and exactly what it is that we do to join and none of it has to do with replacing God or your relationship with Christ.
I grew up Church of God in Christ so there is some affection there, but discussions like these are the reason why the church has dwindled in numbers over the years and are missing a whole demographic that won’t even consider.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and they are sparsely informed. Context is everything.
So my question to you is then, what was your purpose in pledging, just like what was your purpose being born again?.
The fact that each organization is connected to an ancient Greek god should be enough for you to see the primary issue: Thou shalt have NO other gods!

Exactly my thoughts. How they define words to make a spiritual point is misleading. A ritual is just simply a routine. You can have a morning ritual of brushing your teeth and washing your face. The word sorority means sisterhood and fraternity means brotherhood. The way he uses the terms makes it seams as if they are Godly terms. The church denominations are nothing more than organizations just like sororities and fraternities. They have rituals, claim to be better than other denominations, coerce financial support, divide believers, place an emphasis on the Pastor and esteeming him or her as a diety in many cases with zero accountability. It's such a hypocrisy. Do away with all of it and go disciple like Paul and the other apostles.

@@runcamytI am going to be a little facetious but many people say that to be a "Good Christian" and in "Good Standing" as a member of the Faith, one must "pay" tithes and offerings. They could say that you are "paying" to be a part of the local church. Hence, you are "paying" for friendships and relationships. I know this to not be true but it is a counter argument that many aren't prepared with a credible response.
