Spent So Much in Just an Hour! Antique & Vintage Flea Market

- It's our shopping day at the giant antique extravaganza in Mt. Dora, Florida, and we're piling up the bargains fast! It's Sunday, when the sellers are cutting deals to cut out packing, and we're taking advantage while we restock for our next show here the third weekend of January.
There's so much amazing stuff we haven't gotten to see in the 1000 antique booths in and outdoors at Renninger's Mt. Dora complex! We get to know more about beautiful 1890s stained glass in one space, and get a terrific education about bakelite bangles from the 1940s in another. Art deco cabinets, Fiesta ware, a scarce Kelsey Murphy cameo glass vase for Pilgrim and a space filled with a charming antique Swedish sled and other Scandinavian antique folk furniture give us plenty to pause to see that hasn't been here before!
We get to venture far from our booth this morning, as we shop our way towards the office to renew our booths for the January show. We're showing off some of the deals we find on the way back to our booth--signed costume jewelry, a Bohemian epergne, art glass, a spice rack and a Tonalá owl...all wheeled back on a 1970s Sorrento tea trolley! All sorts of fun vintage and antiques, sourced in an hour for a total spend of around $200...no wonder we're excited at what we sell AND what we find every time we do Mt. Dora. See you there this weekend in Booth #4079 (inside gate #4)!

I love Mout Doras antique extravaganza. There are so many interesting treasures.
I love all the people you talk to listening makes understanding so much more Thanks George 😊
Great job sharing with us
That pigeon forge mouse was fabulous to see thank you!!!
Wish I was there! Cold cold here in Indiana! Brrrrrr.
Loved learning about those bangles. Thank You George!
I do love your walkabouts . Always interesting and informative. Thanks for taking the time to show and educate us all. Xx
The Winnobego at 2:59 was made by Tonka - it came with an action figure-sized family. My twin brother and I received one for Christmas in the 70s, and it was amazing! So sturdy we could even sit on top of it and ride it around.
Oh, oh, oh! Tha bakelite collection.....I want it all. What a feast for the eyes the bakelite & original Fiesta ware booth was. Thank you❤❤❤
Tiffany thinks a lot of George, like we do, wish she would go south and enjoy this fair / market!
JOY, great reminder to hit like, thumbs-up.
And always share w friends, ups subscribers 😊
I love TONAL OWL
Great bicycle, my daughter inlaw rides her's daily in Belgium,! ❤ ❤
I always learn so much from your videos. Oh, my gosh, my mom gave me the same daisy flower pin when I was in junior high. That would have been 1969-1970. Here in Florida, there are Wyland Galleries in Sarasota and Key West.
So many great vendors and a great video. That bar cart is fabulous!!! Glad you bought it!!!!
Hi George good video BE CAREFUL HAVE FUN
Thank you!
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Hi guys, hit the thumbs up FOLKS 💚💚💚
Thanks!
Great reminder!
Thanks for teaching us about stain glass.
I like those Banjo type of Grandmother's clocks, leaning on the car/truck😊
Oh my gosh, Kate would be going crazy with all of those bangles! 😊
I thought the same. 😄
I thought the same thing!
She wouldn't have enough arms.
Someday I hope to get to this show! Looks like a grand shopping spree!! Thanks George!!!
Good evening, George! There was a shelf unit, on the ground, just to the side of the rack of antlers that I could really use right now. It had glass shelves with a glass door. I liked the coffin box. There was a spoon brooch/pin in that case that caught my eye. I have one that belonged to my great-great grandmother, in sterling. Loved those crucifixes. I have quite a collection of them now, but nowhere to hang them. I liked the pottery pitcher that was just to the side of the whiskey jugs. Loved that sleigh! Those stained glass windows were beautiful. The cranberry epergne is really pretty. I have a thing about those...love them. There were lots of really interesting items there. Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you so much for showing all the bakelite. I own a few pieces and love learning about them.
Love to hear your extensive knowledge thanks for sharing❤
So glad to do it!
I love the 1950s juvenile ware. Have a few cups I store crayons in for my grands. I buy cups if $5 to $8 . Lol
This is one of my favorites! I love George ❤️
Nice Bakelite tutorial! Thanks ❤
That stained glass is gorgeous!
So love the flea markets really enjoyed it😊
The casket!!!!! And it’s functional for use, amazing. Storage of course. I would never put that in the ground 😂
Always love when I have time to watch your videos, you are so knowledgeable.
Love the silhouettes and reverse glass painting
Wowza! Thank you George for sharing so much information.. love all of your purchases and love the bakelite booth and your tips on what items you've been seeing showing up more often.
The Bakelite lady needs to meet Kate (crazy lamp lady’s friend) who also loves Bakelite.
The growing repair pile, worse than the death pile. 😂 I have to get better about planning travel and make it to Mount Dora. Amazing flea market. Great Bakelite information!
I learn sooo much from you George, thank you for making me much smarter😊!
Love Wyland's art. That bird figure is astounding. His art is, unfortunately, scarce to non-existent in middle America. Thanks for showing it, I probably would have purchased it had I been there.
We appreciate you, George!❤❤❤
We sure do!
The info on Bak-a-lite was interesting for sure. Thanks for taking along I always learn something from you. Have a great day and safe travels
Wow stain glass windows
Good pick ups. Cool to learn about bakelite.
More to come!
Great finds George.
Also learned a lot about bakealite [spelling?] and stained glass.
I know you work your butt off, but you sure seem to have a bunch of fun doing it.
I know I do viewing your videos. ♡
Loved that Coral 🐠 necklace.
Great items and what a great sho! Thanks for showing us all the goodies!!!
Charllen, I find that too. 😊
That MM hanging pot!!! ❤❤❤❤
I know, right?
I had that Winnebago. My friend had one too. It was sturdy enough for a 9-10 year old to sit on and ride. Which we did all over our townhouse complex
the Sweden sleigh is really neat really would look good underneath someone's Christmas tree
Hi George 🤗
Would that I were in Florida where it's warm. This was fun. I especially like/love the Wyland piece. My oh my.
That was fun, thanks…I never get out to markets has much anymore.
Oh my, was that a deloreon hood ornament, small spoon 🥄. Lol
Love Hollywood Regency! What a great place.
Luv Kelsey cameo glass - have some Fenton and Pilgrim!
Enjoyed the bakelite expert on your walkabout
I just love your videos!
Thank you so much for the video and all the information you share with us George ❤
I love everything you bought
Thanks! I liked it all too!
Oh wow. Yeah when I saw the whales I immediately got memories of walking down front st on Maui and passing Wyland Galleries and such. Unfortunately the entire historic Lahaina town burned down last year so Wyland has whittled a couple locations fewer.
But it’s weird how certain objects can instantly transport you to a different place and time.
Love your videos and the knowledge that you share with us! ❤Thank you 🙏
Hey George ❤
Speacktothefox, me too. At the end I hit share and sent to friends. I ran out of friends to subscribe, now I send to parents of my Granddaughter's classmates 😂 😂 .
We do what we need to do ! George shares lots of history and I like learning !
👍🏼 first thing
That's what I do too 😊
Then I hit share to a friend, but now to parents of my granddaughter. 😂 Run out of enough friends 😂😂
4:09 Did he also make dinosaurs ? I had a plastic dinosaur that looked like this . I did not know what it was... listed it on eBay - sold instantly (which , always make ya nervous . LOL).
The “boxer” is actually depicted as a Boston Terrier.
Great video!
Always fun and informative ❤
In the mid 1980’s I worked at a fragrance counter. They were wonderful about gratis for their sales reps. I received this exact bracelet from Giorgio for Christmas!! Unfortunately I later made a swap for it.
I have an entertainment center that is that rounded edge darker oak. Its 10 feet wide and over 6 feet tall. I got it from a thrift store for $50. I bought it because i had the same style back in the early 80s and my 55 inch tv fits nicely.
If you didn't already sell the spice rack, I'd love to buy it! ❤
Love Bakelite
I loved the menorah. I think it represents the Messianic Jew with the "Lion of The Tribe of Judah, Jesus.
Pigeon Forge Pottery was started by Doug Ferguson, and pieces with his signature are earlier and command a higher price.
Loved the tour!
A smart chair
The Russian pin makes me think of Disneyland.
10:48 I never did well with "circus themes" and "kids dishes / pottery / ceramics". And I have had REALLY REALLY cool stuff over the years. It's a bad topic; Like "antique cars" & "hillbillys".
I live not far away and are planning to attend this great flea market on Sunday. Hope there are good things left lol. Thanks George!
Wow, wild George, there was so much I would've got lost. I love the cranberries glass that you bought.
They are extraordinary. This was an excellent video, thank you, George.(Wild )😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I didn't suspect to see a Dutch bicycle on a US flea market. Yes, they still make Gazelle bicycles. The nickname of this type of bicycle is Oma fiets (Grandmother Bicycle) in the Netherlands.
I liked the 3-legged Swedish stool and the bakeliet bangles. ❣️
💚
Great video- thx George
Thank you! Great info!
❤❤❤
I’m a sucker for the Franciscan Apple! I have my Grandma’s set with older marks for the 40s mostly. Now’s the time to buy if you like it.
Question: the blue Wyland whale sculpture is beautiful. Is it the same Wyland that does paintings and murals of sea critters and underwater scenes? He had a studio in Laguna Beach (maybe still does).
11:13 Nativity sets are a huge thing also.
Hi George! Love the video! Are you considering selling the olive grabber? If so, I'd love one for my own collection. Hi to Xeno!!! 😊 Have fun!
Love the Bakelite lesson! What were her prices for her bracelets?
💖
Hey big spender.
Lol I try hard
😂😂
I wish I could have made it to Mt Dora. But the weather wasn't good 😢
Hopefully better next month
I love Mt Dora but it is a little cold this weekend.
How exciting to see your pink Murano vase! I have one that is green to amber ombre. I knew it was Murano (paid $20!) but I've had a hard time getting others to believe me. Now I have proof from George himself! So thank you
George we gonna catch you n Zeno in Fla n KY instead of Ohio luv all😮
Hi George!! Do you still have that dresser box from this video? It's one of the items you showed us at the end that you had purchased at this extravaganza... or any other little trinket boxes?? Wood, glass, tin, resin, plastic, etc??
I wanna be there
George I have tire ashtray advertising Goodyear perfect condition
Hi Hayden
10:12: I do like and use my egg coddlers.
I have an extensive egg coddle collection. I think they are beautiful. I found a perfect shelf on Facebook marketplace to display them on. They are packed away from my Christmas display, but will be on display soon.
those 80s pewter warrior figures you had next to the Swedish glass is exactly what i look for! some are worth quite a bit too if they're connected to early dungeons and dragons
Can you share the timestamp?
