You can avoid having the pasta drying out by dribbling-in about two tablespoons of water so there is moisture to keep the pasta soft. I just sneak it in by putting the tap on a drizzle and pour it into the lifted edge. Make sure you tilt the tray so there is water all around the sides.

Good idea!!! Kevin would do that if it was suggested in directions but he follows the company’s instructions (because they should work) if I get it I’ll use your tip!

The problem with a lot of frozen meals is they don't give you the wattage of the microwave. Some do, and in tiny, small print it states "based on 900 watt microwave" and that's where the problem lies. I buy Michael Angelo's Ziti with meatballs, family size, and on their meals it doesn't say to vent the lid, therefore it sort of steams and you don't have that burnt corner problem.

Good suggestion to stir between power levels. Actually I could boil pasta, microwave frozen meatballs, add sauce grated cheese no doubt save some money. Tho this is convenient I may try it

These types of dinners do dry out in the oven if they are not covered in some kind of sauce you kinda need to mix them up or they need to over more of the top with cheese so it doesnt do this but really its only a couple of the noodles (the ones that look white)

I never understand people who just feel like they MUST ALWAYS follow Microwave instructions. If the directions say to cook for 5 minutes, I go with 3 1/2 and let it stand for 5 minutes and check it. In this case, cooking on full power for almost 10 minutes and then zapping it for another 8-12 minutes on 1/2 power is total overkill! I would let it semi defrost for an hour and then cook it for 6 minutes. Wait about 3 minutes then stir it up real good and give it another 6 minutes and let it stand for a good 5 minutes and that should get the job done without ruining it! Alternatively you could probably let it thaw completely then put the contents into a slow cooker and cook it on high for an hour or so or until the smell permeates the room. I cook with my nose! If you can smell what you're microwaving that probably means it's thoroughly cooked! Same with a slow cooker. If you can smell what you're cooking from 10 feet away it's probably ready to eat.

I can’t do hard pasta! I agree with your suggestion of stirring during the cooking process. I’m glad that besides the hard pasta that the textures were good. This sounds pretty good. Thanks for a great review Kevin!

I’ve had a few of their frozen meals and although I liked them I felt they were expensive…

Hey Kevin.....These frozen meals always lack something and I'm usually adding something to make them more palatable like in this meal I'd be adding some of my ITALIAN Grocers pasta sauce which is to die for.....Don't ever skimp on the pasta sauce 'cause eating 'kinda
dry pasta is horrible.....Whenever ordering Italian take-out I always ask for extra sauce on the side 'cause sometimes they come like
that frozen meal came, 'kinda dry.......Good Post Kevin....Thanks. !.....

I purchased this product before I found this review.
The meal does not look like the finished product on the package. I expected this. Especially the cheese. The cheese is not distributed through the product. There was a small glop of cheese in the middle, on top of the finished product. So basically you were eating just rigatoni and meatballs.
I thought the sauce was watery. And some of the pasta on top was dry and hard. With the interior pasta kind of mushy.
Taste of the meatballs was fair.
I cooked the product in the oven according to package directions.
The price of this product is somewhat expensive. Especially for the quality.
I will not purchase this again.
