    So far this is the best video for flashing sonoff . The rest just asking you to cut wire and solder the board. Come on, serial connectors how complicate can it be. Great video.!! This is definitely the right way to do it. No damage to the board.

    @ChrisHolst Před 3 lety +2

    Your link for the windows flasher need a lot of explanation... it seems to want to flash something called NodeMCU onto the device rather than Tasmota, and figuring out how to change its mind about that is a bit beyond me.

    • @HomeSight
      @HomeSight  Před 3 lety

      Hi! NodeMCU is a device type rather than a firmware. You need to download the firmware as I show in the video. Sorry if it wasn’t clear!

    I curious why some of the videos (pinkywafer) show cutting traces and soldering two jumpers - and yours doesn't. Do you know why that would be required?

    • @HomeSight
      @HomeSight  Před 3 lety

      Hmm, I’m not sure. Possibly to ground out to stop the boot, but the holding of the reset button does the same thing I think! It certainly worked for me and has done on quite a few of these devices.

    • @ericc1214
      @ericc1214 Před 3 lety

      @@HomeSight I think the modification that pinky wafer is doing has it using ESP home instead of tasmota. And I think ESP home is using a different set of outputs to trigger the transmitter and receiver. I like the direct integration of ESP home with home assistant instead of having to use mqtt

    @Underlyingglitch Idk what is happening I've posted the reply twice and it is getting deleted. Well I hope u see this:
    I've managed to make it work! Ive received the FT232R module and at firtst it did not work. I had to manually install the windows drivers. Then it showed the same behavior of my other USB to TTL converter (HW-597) it was stuck on connecting, alternating from ... to ____. Then I was exploring the driver settings on windows device manager and I noticed that by default it was set to 9600 bps and flux control to "none". I changed it to 115200 and flux control to hardware and it worked!.
    I wonder if my other USB to TTL is fine and the problem was that configuration. Well I won't test now because I've already tasmotized my rf bridge
