This dude is one of the most underrated musicians of all time. Not only was he Queen's bassist, he composed Another One Bites The Dust, Spread Your Wings, I Want To Break Free, and a little song called You're My Best Friend. By himself. An amazing musician, and had the integrity to turn down a tour without Freddie. An awesome talent.
Yet, he continued playing with the band after Freddie died. That gig with Roger at Cowdray Ruins in 1993 springs to mind. Brian wasn't there at the time, yet John and Roger still called themselves "Queen".
This gave me goosebumps in a bad way. The mans traumatized. He's saying stop. He's hiding his face. He's clearly not well when it comes to attention. But he keeps signing anyways. John Deacon is a friend of a friend of a friend.....from what I've been told he's very happy living out of the limelight and while he's aware of (and very proud of) his history with Queen....he'd prefer not to be swarmed upon by fans. He does still have a bass, and occasionally plays it. But he'd rather go to Tesco than appear on stage. I hope we can all respect that.
Eclectic I completely agree and never accosted anyone in public. Even saw one of my comedy heroes and as we passed acknowledged him by name and he smiled and said thank you dear boy and that was enough for me. No selfies, no autographs just a polite greeting. He knew and I knew which is what mattered.

John Deacon is the quiet type person and a very humble member of Queen。He decided to leave the group after his closest Freddie died. We must respect his decision that no one can replace Freddie in the group and in his heart. He decided to be in private due to depression, and we must respect that. I like John Deacon after Freddie. This footage breaks my heart. I was lucky enough to meet Brian about 18 years ago. I was there with one other fan. I had one record for him to sign. The other fan had a stack containing every record Queen had produced. I (stupidly) waited my turn. Brian asked the other guy: "Do you want me to sign all of these?" and the guy said "Yes". Amazingly, Brian did. I just had the one, and I am thankful Brian's management allowed it. I know I was still a total fanboy that day, but seriously some people have no respect, even when meeting their heroes, as shown by this video.

I have been watching many videos about queen on youtube lately and I see these kind of comments a lot. I want to say that I very much respect your opinion about the matter. However I would like to share my experience. I was born in 98 so even after deaky retired. I never had to chance to see Freddie live, or await their newest album, simply because I wasn't alive then, but my father was. He grew up with their music and he has been a fan since the very beginning of Queen. He was the one who introduced me to their music. I heard the songs throughout my entire childhood, but I never knew much about them. It was something my father liked and being an typical ignorant child my father was old and therefore his likes were uninteresting. I grew up moved out and developed my own interests in music. Here is where Brian and Roger come in. Because they keep Queen alive in a sense, by touring (with Adam Lambert) and overseeing these projects like the musical and upcoming movie. This way they keep it current instead of something that happened 30-50 years ago. Only a few months ago they gave a concert in my country and my father and mother went there together. For context: they are divorced and hate each others guts. But Queen made them go past that and have a great night. This gave me an incentive to rediscover Queen music. I started listening to the more unknown songs, looking at interviews, figuring out how inventive they were. I would not have done this if Brian and Roger did not continue with Queen and being protective of Freddie's legacy. I know the movie will be great and reliable because they approve of it. Now I love Queen and their music. I cannot stop listening to their songs and I want to know all about the band and the four individuals that are part of it. My relationship with my dad improved because we have something to talk about that were are both excited about. I am grateful for Brian and Roger for what they are doing and I respect John for his decision to retire. Sorry for the long post, but I was bothering me how some seem to ignore what Brian and Roger do for the generations born after Freddie's death. Oh and they always ask Deaky for permission for their projects involving Queen, because he is still involved in the financial side, and he gives them his blessing.

John Deacon is a friend of a friend of a friend.....from what I've been told he's very happy living out of the limelight and while he's aware of (and very proud of) his history with Queen....he'd prefer not to be swarmed upon by fans. Even saw one of my comedy heroes and as we passed acknowledged him by name and he smiled and said thank you dear boy and that was enough for me. No selfies, no autographs just a polite greeting. This footage breaks my heart. I was lucky enough to meet Brian about 18 years ago. I was there with one other fan. I had one record for him to sign. The other fan had a stack containing every record Queen had produced. I (stupidly) waited my turn. Brian asked the other guy: "Do you want me to sign all of these?" and the guy said "Yes". Amazingly, Brian did. I just had the one, and I am thankful Brian's management allowed it. I know I was still a total fanboy that day, but seriously some people have no respect, even when meeting their heroes, as shown by this video.

I have been watching many videos about queen on youtube lately and I see these kind of comments a lot. I want to say that I very much respect your opinion about the matter. However I would like to share my experience. I was born in 98 so even after deaky retired. I never had to chance to see Freddie live, or await their newest album, simply because I wasn't alive then, but my father was. He grew up with their music and he has been a fan since the very beginning of Queen. He was the one who introduced me to their music. I heard the songs throughout my entire childhood, but I never knew much about them. It was something my father liked and being an typical ignorant child my father was old and therefore his likes were uninteresting. I grew up moved out and developed my own interests in music. Here is where Brian and Roger come in. Because they keep Queen alive in a sense, by touring (with Adam Lambert) and overseeing these projects like the musical and upcoming movie. This way they keep it current instead of something that happened 30-50 years ago. Only a few months ago they gave a concert in my country and my father and mother went there together. For context: they are divorced and hate each others guts. But Queen made them go past that and have a great night. This gave me an incentive to rediscover Queen music. I started listening to the more unknown songs, looking at interviews, figuring out how inventive they were. I would not have done this if Brian and Roger did not continue with Queen and being protective of Freddie's legacy. I know the movie will be great and reliable because they approve of it. Now I love Queen and their music. I cannot stop listening to their songs and I want to know all about the band and the four individuals that are part of it. My relationship with my dad improved because we have something to talk about that were are both excited about. I am grateful for Brian and Roger for what they are doing and I respect John for his decision to retire. Sorry for the long post, but I was bothering me how some seem to ignore what Brian and Roger do for the generations born after Freddie's death.
Oh and they always ask Deaky for permission for their projects involving Queen, because he is still involved in the financial side, and he gives them his blessing.

I was reading the comments before I started watching this video I thought some people might have been exaggerating John reaction, but they were NOT! I was shocked, saddened and disturbed to see John's reaction to these vile arseholes! John is absolutely not OK with what is happening, these bastards kept saying ''leave John alone'' but they continued to harass him! Thanks to these despicable ''fans'', John may never venture out anywhere like this again, and also have made his mental state worse!

Yummy Sounds Well, I very much doubt the experience was beneficial for him. He should have been left alone. He was clearly distressed at the beginning of the video.
I would have been happy just to spot him and would have left him alone. He obviously left the music business so he could live his life in peace It was obvious he was distressed but he was very gracious.

I think he forgot about his star status and took a brief ride back on memor lane... in the end he is smiling and very confident... so folks don't tell me he is being hurt, or harressed... he is not... I have more footgae of this in the end he is very open and very very AGAIN VERY (!!!!!!!!!!) happy about this moment... but that we will al see in some TV special later this year okay !
