- Origin Effects: DELUXE61 Amp Tremolo & Drive
origineffects....
The DELUXE61 faithfully recreates the rich cleans, raunchy overdrive and dynamic, musical tremolo of the Fender® Brown Deluxe, possibly the greatest amp of the early ‘60s.
Featuring an all-analogue, valve amp-style signal path with an authentic bias tremolo circuit, the DELUXE61 brings a huge range of classic sounds to your pedalboard - with plenty of modern flexibility.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prior to October 2021, the Deluxe61 was known as the RevivalTREM. The circuitry remains the same but the new name better reflects its ability as an all-round amp recreation. All DELUXE61 pedals receive a slight adjustment in output level.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Complete, valve amp-style signal path recreated in all-analogue circuitry
- Push-pull output stage with reactive load and genuine bias tremolo
- Comprehensive Post-Drive EQ tailors the Deluxe61 to your amp’s clean tone
- Tour-grade, all-metal construction
- Tap tempo and external switching for convenient control
- High-impedance, buffered bypass with silent switching
- Designed and built in England

I love mine. Sounds so crisp, gritty and just pleasing to me. The Tremolo effect is what really sold me on this one, it's so damn smooth and creamy and complements the pedal's character perfectly.
this reminds me of the trem on my old 71 Princeton NR.... diggin' it
The sound of magic
Really want to try this on bass.
Some tasty tones AND tasty playing
Great guitar playing for that pedal!
You guys put tres hombres in a box holy moly!!!!!!
One of the albums that lead us to wanting to capture this sound!
Phenomenal.
Another happy vintage RT owner here. Can you please share which IRs you used on the audio?
We like to keep it simple with our IR use. This demo was recorded using Redwirez pack, primarily using the C12N with an SM57 1" away.
Honestly, we keep it simple because we want to keep it recreatable. Some decent IRs and some experimentation should get you great results!
Superb!
Good one!
Does the tremolo react to the playing as in the original amp? Because in the original the tube driven tremolo reacts to the playing and this makes it so much more musical.
Yep!
The Tremolo in the DELUXE61 is recreated in full, that includes all the interactions you'd expect from the real amp because... The Deluxe61 is creating that tremolo effect exactly how the real amp does.
Compact Version is coming ???
Will this work plugged into a crown power amp split into 2 12in. Speakers??
Yep, running this into a clean power-amp and guitar cab is absolutely something you can do.
Geez, am I gonna buy another OE pedal? This one and the Cali76 Stacked. Then I'm done ... maybe the Halcyon Green as well. Then I'm really done.
Tasty!
I was going to buy this pedal direct from Origin for £320 but when I was about to pay for it the price went up £60 or so. I bought one from Peach Guitars instead. 😝
That'll be the VAT + Shipping. Peach are a great dealer and definitely worth supporting!
@@OriginEffectsUK Thanks for the response. I love your pedals and have the cali76 limited edition and the compact revival drive and now the deluxe 61...they will last a lifetime, so I'm covered for all of my overdrive, tremolo and compression needs. Cheers. ; )
Will my RevivalTrem be a collectible now?
Only time will tell! However this and the Trem are largely the same pedal inside. So it's a name thing
@@OriginEffectsUK Good to know. You’re working on a new project hopefully?
@@nilsx3020 We never stop working on new things!
Now I just need a stereo version with independent tremolo speeds and an insert before the tremolo for reverb. :)
@@OriginEffectsUK largely the same? What changed?
An amazing pedal but I don't get the point of these 2-in-1 pedals. Why not just make a tremolo pedal and therefore something a lot more affordable? A tremolo drive is completely niche and something I don't want. I do however, want a tremolo pedal.
As this is a recreation of the Fender Brown Deluxe, the DRIVE and TREM circuit aren't really a two in one so much as they are the same bit of circuitry.
The Bias trem is created by adjusting the bias across the power-amp valves of the Brown Deluxe which is how we've replicated it here, most of the drive also comes from the power-amp section of the amp too. This is also why the overdrive and tremolo are so interactive, as the overdrive and tremolo are taking place at the same part of the circuit.
@@OriginEffectsUK Okay, that's very cool and good to know. My point was more that I find it baffling that Origin only sells two modulation pedals both of which also have a drive circuit. Why not create modulation pedals that only modulate? Myself and many others don't want to pay for a drive circuit when we already have other drive pedals that we're happy with and we just want our effects pedals to affect our signal not boost it. You're putting the horse before the cart and charging people £320 for a modulation pedal with no cheaper, less niche and [in many cases] more desirable alternative. Since Mayer used your Compressor you guys are known to make the best compressor pedal in the world. I'm sure that if you guys made a simple trem at £180 or £210 you'd be selling so many you couldn't keep up. I know I'd want one.
@@L.C.Sweeney Magma57 and Deluxe61 won't be the last time we dip into the world of modulation
@@OriginEffectsUK Really like the re-think/re-branding of these pedals as being amp recreations and not modulation pedals per se. It showcases that the unique subtleties of the drive and tone of these pedals is just as important as the modulation.
i dont hear what all the fuss is about but then again I hate tremolo...the drive was kool
