Yeah, I really enjoy vlogs, especially when someone is out filming in the wild and sharing their movie pickups in the car-- just as you did. Hope you get out more often because there are great finds out there to be had at great prices, but if you don't go, someone else is going to knab them. 😊
I'm really surprised that Demeter didn't do better...I thought that it was a really interesting part of the story to focus on. I really liked it. And even though I knew (mostly) how things were going to turn out, there were still some good scares and tension. And it was often hearbreaking as well (I was really hoping that Toby would end up in one of the lifeboats).
I agree with your take on the 'theater experience'. Either there are obnoxious movie gowers or the sound is too low or the picture quality is not up to snuff etc...
Great video! I would love to watch you doing more more blu-ray hunting trips! But most importantly I would love to watch MORE videos from you not just once a week!
haha I’m trying! Really appreciate you saying so, though.
I’m here for the Regal Slander. 😈
Always. 🙏🏼
Aside from the IMAX screen my local theater screens are always dark and muted.
Great video sir!!!
Yeah, it’s such a bummer. I want to support theaters, but they’re making it difficult with their apathy.
Wild adventures in CoMo! Hate to hear about the projector issue, but glad you dug the film enough. Great pickups, pal!
Thanks, brother!
Good morning
I’m an early bird. I start work at 6 and I usually watch you tube when I arrive and what a pleasant surprise
Really enjoyed this video.
Hey, thank you very much!
While it's been a decade sine I worked for Regal, I did 35mm projection for a while at 16 plex and it was so fun. Eventually we converted to digital projectors and movies delivered on hard drives. They don't have projectionists anymore, just somebody part time doing one of their long list of manager duties. These operations are ao cheap they are killing themselves.
Also Nice finds, I love picking up movies for other people. I buy blu-rays players from thirst stores to gift to people too.
Shoot 'em Up is so underrated and a lot better than I was expecting.
Sweet!! I’m looking forward to it.
I've called it quits on my local theater because the presentation there is unbearably bad, whether the projector is off-center, comically dimmed, or even accidentally showing the 3-D version until someone complains. When I saw West Side Story, the projector's color switched off thirty minutes in and no one ever came to fix it, even when I'd pointed out the issue.
Wow. That’s so disheartening.
I don't go to the local cinema very often however I went to see Star Trek The Wrath of Khan when it got a brief re-release in the UK last year, I was decidedly unimpressed by how the movie looked, it was indeed fuzzy, I put it down to expecting too much. However, I went to the British Film Institute in London this Summer and saw an original print of Jaws and the difference was massive, of course you would expect they know how to project a movie.
So many repertory screenings look bad, unless it’s on film and the people really care about projecting it correctly. Really glad you had a good experience with Jaws!
THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER dragged quite a bit. I think it could have been much tighter. Maybe 30 minutes shorter. That would have tightened it up quite a bit. I really liked the period design and the seriousness, and the fact that he was a soulless, bloodsucking monster, but it could have been tighter.
I enjoyed this video. You're so much better than you think you are.
Thank you! Really nice of you to say.
Don't like E.T. never did ( I'm old) I have " The Bride" on VHS. Top movie with Jennifer Beals,
Question ( if you have time ) I just saw " Vampyr" 1932' what do you think ? Oh good video, Dimeter is still playing Goulburn NSW Australia, sounds just like I expected, looking forward to your Witch video, hope you mention my two favourites, Veronica lake, and Kim Novak
I think you won’t be disappointed with the witch video, then! Regarding Vampyr, I think it’s interesting and really cool visually. I did find it a little boring, but I’ve actually been thinking about rewatching it lately, because I’ve gotten more into folk horror since I saw it. What did you think?
@@cobwebschannel have to agree,( a bit slow) but this time the Butler did do it . Awesome
Typical of Regal Theaters. They're the pits.
Boy, they sure are.
I thought the new Russell Crowe Robin Hood movie was an interesting take on the subject since it had a "Somersby" element through in, which is based off of the medieval French folk-tale of Martin Guerre. My favorite Snow White movie has got to be, "Snow White: A Tale of Terror" starring Sigourney Weaver as the evil Queen, and back when Gil Bellows was hot! It has scenes involving folk-magic and you even get to hear Sigourney sing an aria! Also, if you want to see an AMAZING acting job from Gena Davis, I would recommend "The Long Kiss Goodnight"! And, 👋neighbor to the south! I'm in Iowa!
PS--One movie that I've been looking for, ever since I saw it 23 years ago on a movie channel is, "The Irrefutable Truth about Demons"!
