Ramen Tour of Ginza, Tokyo - 3 unique bowls of ramen
#1 Ramen Rule - Taste the broth first, after that, there are no other main rules to eating ramen, just slurp and enjoy.
Ginza Kagari - The first Japanese ramen restaurant we went to is a very well known place that serves chicken ramen, called Ginza Kagari. We waited in line for about 30 minutes before getting in. The broth was thick and rich, and overall a very good bowl.
Price - 1,050 JPY ($9.23)
Kazami - This was one of my favorites of the day, a thick unique sake ramen. One of the interesting things about ramen in Japan is that it’s a relatively recent addition to Japanese food, and so there are less “rules” meaning chefs can experiment and try unique versions of ramen. This sake ramen was delicious.
Price - 980 JPY ($8.62)
Shichisai - Finally for our last bowl of ramen on this ramen food tour, we ate at a place called Shichisai, known for serving hand-made noodles right in front of you. The noodles were the best of the tour for sure.
Price - 970 JPY ($8.53)
If I could have the noodles from Shichisai and the sake broth from Kazami, that would be perfect!

sorry man, not calling you out because I love your channels but as a chef I just wanted to let you know the garnish was not saffron, it is dried chili thread, mainly used for garnish in Japan.
I was about to flip cause I know saffron is extremely expensive and that looked like it was a lot
Chili threads are also used in malaysian cuisine occassionally but also used commonly in korean cuisine in some provinces and dishes brother. I too am a chef brother! What cuisine(s) do you work with to create your menu and restaurant?
@@elnessj it can be expensive but it can also be cheap it all depends on quality and where it came from as well as if they are actual saffron or if they are dyed to enhance coloration and artificially flavored to reduce cost and get in on the cash flow but yes true saffron of good quality is extremely expensive by weight! One gram is more expensive than most other luxury ingredients of the same weight!

Mary Leialoha the instant noodles, is a base. You can add cut up green veggies, herbs and protein to it. Don't use to much of the soup base. It has a lot of sodium.
BellRain Chan, Yes I steeped some greens and added it with a hard boiled egg. Didn't come close the the shoyu ramen in Mark's video, however it satisfied my craving lol.
There are some Japanese Instant Ramen Noodles that tastes better than some bowls I've eaten in Japan. Not all Ramen in Japan are good. lol.

I went to the first ramen shop that Mark visits in this video when I went to Japan and they were playing a remix of the GAME OF THRONES THEME SONG while preparing our ramen. It was not only the most tasty ramen I've had but also the most epic one lmao.

Yes I did! It was really rich and creamy in texture, definitely worth a try if you eat a lot of ramen and want to try something different. It's rare to find chicken as the main meat in your ramen.
