After that, I did the General LL.M. at the George Washington University Law School (GW). I've been there! I would say, give yourself more time, especially since this quarantine, everything has been different. When I moved to NY after it being my dream my whole life, things did not go as planned, BUT after letting time pass, I really enjoyed my time there. You got this and I pray you gain peace during this crazy time.

I appreciate you talking about feeling overwhelmed and struggling with your path. I've definitely been fighting more of a mental battle this year and I don't even think it's all covid, I think a lot of it was there before and this has kind of exacerbated it. Trying to establish some sort of routine and finding ways to feel productive have definitely been a big key in reeling myself back in. Social media detox has been a massive help too, I have almost gone back to my pre-social media lifestyle and it's been such a nice change!

I was feeling the exact same begining of this year, I was coming to the end of my uni year soon and was lost. I thought I needed a fresh start. I moved back in with my parents during quarantine and took the time to re-evaluate everything. Turns out I loved where I was going in my career, I missed my 3 year relationship (we were still together) and I didn't realise this because I was SO lonely living by myself at University. I thought to myself, I don't have friends, my family don't make effort to come and visit me, but it was just my ego trying to normalise my lost feelings. Lonliness can make you question every aspect of your life. Now I will be moving in to my own flat this month with my boyfriend and closer to home, with my new job. Sometimes you need to change one thing in your life to make all the other things run smoothly. Living by yourself is hard Lily, have you thought about moving in with a friend?

Thanks for sharing your story Georgia, glad things worked out for you. I don’t know that many people here yet. Pretty much all my friends here are married/long term relationships so that’s not really an option for me. I also like living alone, because I have always been used to lots of time by myself and find it hard to give that up + i work from home, so sharing the space with someone else would make that difficult. And i really don’t want to move AGAIN haha.
