This song is the best, literally. It’s like he encapsulated American racial tension and put it honestly in two peoples shoes. All the things many people think but never say out loud, so it never gets resolved. I especially love the bridge where he talks about the cycle continuing, placing blame, and how divided we are. The song also takes accountability for both sides. Joyner really outdid himself here.

It's more nuanced than that, of course, but on a really basic level you're just wrong.
There is an inborn moral compass - it isn't all nature or all nurture. And that makes complete sense, just in an evolutionary sense.
Good and evil may or may not be "just" human conceptions, I won't claim one or the other as truth, but it's either dishonest or naive to suggest that they don't exist. They certainly do, as ideas, or we wouldn't be talking about it in the first place.
All or nothing approaches to complex and nuanced issues are silly. You're making a very extraordinary claim and presenting a self-assured veneer as if you know the truth. People have argued these things for thousands of years and we will likely continue arguing these things for thousands more. A little humility wouldn't kill you; you don't have all the answers.

It explains the whole problem that’s been going on for hundreds of years. Especially in the early/mid 1900s. Racism and division between both Black and White people isn’t necessarily a skin colour issue it’s a mindset issue. Racist people exist because of past issues between races and because they held onto that and spread their toxic point of view and infected other people. All people despite origin deserve love and peace, we should all get on and not see colour because deep down we’re all the same, we’re all human after all and at the end of the day skin colour/appearance doesn’t matter it’s who you are who determines who you are. Spread love not hate. And this is from the perspective of a white person. I mean sure I may have been “racist” in the past (when I was a kid) I thought it was strange that other people have different skin colour and then I learned that it wasn’t strange and that it was a normal part of humanity. But I guess we were all kind of like that as a kid because we were naive and hadn’t really seen the world.

White guy here. What I got from this song was that there's a point on both sides. Okay, that sounds basic as fuck... except I mean there's REALLY a case on both sides. Whites and blacks spend so much time hating each other and killing each other that there's almost no understanding at all. But then when we try to understand each other, we also fight that shit "Trying to steal black culture", "Paying my taxes for your food stamps".... so there's a misunderstanding and we do it to each other. That's sad. We could do better.

I’m somewhere between this and the words of Morgan freeman when he said the way to be free from racism is to “stop talking about it” he said “you stop calling me a black man and I’ll stop calling you a white man” and that hit almost as hard as these lyrics. I’m a white woman, majority of my friends are black. Got mixed nieces and nephews, family members, etc. we all bleed red at the end of the day. I think these tough conversations need to be had and THEN we all move on from it with the understanding that we are all human and no one is better than anyone else. We. All. Bleed. Red. ♥️

I’m an “Euro-American” and I have a biracial son, he is technically my step son, (his biological father is black) and he has known this his whole life but he is my son, he has 3 brothers that are my biological kids but he has told me that he didn’t feel any different from them, thank God! So I have had a unique view of the racial issue(s) in this country. I have worked with people for years and as soon as they learn that my oldest son is “black” you can see the thought process with them realizing all the racist things they have said to or around me or they will actually change the way they interact with me! The sad part is, some people don’t even know that they are racist, they actually think their attitude is great, I have to explain to them why their point of view is the “racism” that is the problem. The racism the kkk burdens humanity with is easy to defeat, but the racism that most people have is hard to overcome. When people see a black man, not just a man, like every other man, that is hard to counteract. When people are so blind to the truth they say that “there isn’t disadvantages facing minorities today, they have the same, if not more, opportunity than anyone!”, it drives me crazy. Until white people in America can see people for who they are and not the color of their skin, nothing is going to change. Until people see a person, not a black or brown or white person but a person, that day will be a great day. I hope I am still around to witness it,.......peace be with you all.

Then those same people come to our protest with their own signs trying to disclaim, if that's the right word, our protest. Trying to protest against Black Lives Matter, which to me sounds like you're saying black lives dont matter. If your not racist after that then you are most definitely ignorant.
