It’s a registered NPO with the Limpopo Department of Social Development, and for years, the volunteers have been serving the vulnerable children of Alldays. They provide food and a safe place for the youngsters to go after school. For many of them, this is their only meal for that day. Then came a wealthy Swedish national who promised to build an orphanage, on municipal land, to accommodate the children. Donations poured in from around the world, and a building was erected. Ten years later, the NPO is still feeding children in Alldays, from a corrugated iron shack, in the dust, and next to the building that was intended for them. Their cries for help to the local Municipality have gone unanswered. Carte Blanche investigates.

It would be a good idea to send that video to the Swedish ambassador, and ask him for feedback on how that Swedish fraud can be taken to task.
I did an assignment in KZN via an international org., and exactly the same thing happened except our donors were Dutch. Unfortunately when I discovered the issue my assignment ended, but not before I managed to get back some of the money and worked with another registered NGO which took over management on an interim basis.
Yah ne, I may not have much but watching this makes me be grateful...
Im in tears with this story...
This is heartbreaking.
Sis, I can't believe the lengths people would go to, using the poor to steal what they can. Even deducting money for "donations" from hardworking people.
There were no facts proven, this was an attack on a person without hard evidence it seems
The wrong questions are being asked, why do these kids need a businessman, why did the local government not do their jobs?
Corruption
Excellent reporting 😮
Where’s the money come from? Who are the donors? are these international donors only? or is there donors from South Africa as well? The story didn’t make this clear for me.
How corrupt and money hunger... Absolutely disgusting... Poor kids
Thanks Masa
Ramquvist and his Lawyer and other lady who is claiming to be taking care of the kids are supposed to be investigated. The municipality guys are sleeping like all of them across the country.
Why are the municipality not helping the children, it's their job.
i love this channel #CapeITown
Ai! Very sad when people have so much and still take from others!
Its a little weird the little girl saying " Happy birthday father".
Wow... what a horrible man.
I'd like to hear Ramqvists side of the story....
Yes, it seems some cadre's want to "eat" some of the money.
Despicable man.
Unbelievable
✨🌎🇺🇸 Excellent Reporting ~ Please do a follow update ~ very interesting situation & story, what is the problem exactly, is it who controls the funds for the orphanage ? Why does Mr. Small allegedly owe 30 million Rand, to whom for what ? Thanks
Reporting is horrible for the reasons you stated
Could we not give them tables and chairs to sit on while eating?
Enough of the anc , they must go !
Dark continent? Sad
guys we must wake up, people are taking advantage of us while we spent time taking.
So he's using the kids as a front for a scam😢. I think it's time we use the term the light continent for Africa. Thanks for shining your torch on this fraud!
We did not hear his side of the story...bad journalism
Ra tla ra jabetswa ke lekgowa😢😢😢😢
Another sad story of the rich stealing from the poor. :(
Seems to me that he wants to be treated like a King. His African dream
Eh
What's happening here? I'm still lo3t...yoh Mzasni's corruption
SA is a banana republic. Such shouldn't be treated lightly
Cant seem to understand the angle here. Is this or is this building not serving a purpose ? I don't believe this question was answered as it got lost in the emotionalism. Or maybe the question was whether it is right that a foreign national gets to look like the Good Shepherd if he isn't ? In the latter case, no evidence was presented to even begin a discussion as to his motives or contribution or even his character (slander?). Whether the Carte Blanche presenter has grievances about Tarzan or not, she clearly tried to raise the emotional tempo artificially and to inject it with a bit of friction (is it ok for me to say I want to visit Sweden because the Viking culture, Thor, trolls, and elves draw me? Was Africa 80 years ago teeming with lion and elephant, and bizarre unknowns ? ), and I found her questions during the interview at the end to be emotional rather than clearly thought out and strategic. Many vague insinuations were raised as to whether embezzlement was taking place, but no evidence whatsoever was provided. Where are the numbers ? Where are the books ? What makes her think embezzlement is taking place ? Come on now. It's like if i ask you "do you still beat your wife?" - this type of question is entrapment and misleading because no matter what you answer, you're guilty as it leaves no room for the misguided question insinuation that you did originally beat your wife. So you're damned if you answer Yes, and you're damned if you answer No. Surely a little more sleuth work was needed to produce this episode rather than emotional "white capital" rhetoric. In this day and age, anyone who can do something, no matter how small the contribution is, needs to be acknowledged, and everything has warts from certain perspectives. Juxtapose this against doing nothing. We live amongst so much darkness and corruption from all sectors and population groups as it knows no boundaries, and this world is passing away as we know it. A famous person said once that all it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. So back to my original question, is this building serving a purpose and contributing however small to the upliftment of humanity ? If it is, however inefficient and beguiled, declare the good clearly, but make your case properly if there is corruption - this episode may now destroy the donations made internationally and the few children and staff it appears to benefit may be worse off than before because a pillowcase of feathers chucked into the wind can never be fully retrieved ! Why not show what good this building is doing, but i found no attempt to do this. If this Swedish man is guilty (of something that was not exactly made clear other than him just stroking his own ego) - then he needs to be exposed, but it needs to be stronger than just resenting him for wanting to look good on the international heart-string scene. For heaven's sake, we need better and more indepth sleuth work than what was dished up here. This has probably got to be one of the worst episodes produced by the ilk of Carte Blanche.
Wannabe Tarzan..."Father" ? What a joke!
saviour of the children? hmmmm
Maybe CB should have an interview with that guy, so we can hear both sides of the story.
