I was a young bride. I married a musician when I was 19. My husband went to Berklee College of Music and loved listening to George Winston, Will Akerman and Michael Hedges. We settled in Mill Valley, Ca. at the time and my husband played George Winston during those long beautiful afternoons. I remember looking out over the hills of Marin through the redwoods with Autumn playing in the background. My husband passed away 4 years ago and this music makes me wish for one more day with him -Just one day! This music really helped to shape me into who I am today.
That the music created a safe space for you to share these words is a blessing to us all.

カセットテープで持ってた。
初めてフルで聴いた時は感動した。タイトルも「あこがれ」という副題がついていて、イメージ通りのタイトルで本当に嬉しかった…！
何回も何回も聴き、これを聴きながらたくさん絵を描きました。

Hello, I am a 12-year-old girl. I played George Winston's Thanksgiving at the piano concert. Well, it's a very good song. I played Thanksgiving and the response was really good. And a new teacher came to the academy. But we didn't have much connection.. I was practicing "Ronging Love" and my teacher told me after I got a lesson. I said, "Do you like George Winston?" And I said, "Yes." Finally, there was something that I and the teacher were connected to each other. You used to like Longing Love We now have a connection thanks to George Winston. Oh, that's right. I got to know George Winston because my uncle, who is close to my family, recommended me to play Thanksgiving. It was so nice playing it. And the uncle recommended Lane and Longing Love. I am going through a divorce right now. My wife and I have been married 16 years and we have an 8-year-old son who means everything to me. She said she wanted an amicable divorce, but then she hired an attorney, which forced me to hire one. My attorney recently told me my wife is going to try and prevent me from getting joint custody of our son. When I listen to this song, it describes my feelings about this divorce.
I feel so bad about your situation and hope that somehow,, sanity and heartfelt peace will prevail in this low point in your life. One way or another time will slowly heal wounds , yes, I know that’s no comfort at this point but it’s true. I hope that you are all somehow guided to be kind to each other and long term happiness will be for you all 🙏

ジャケットを見て
「こらかぁ」と思い
数年後、サンフランシスコから北に走るグレイハウンドから眺めた景色がウォークマンで聴いていたautumnとシンクロした。
そして
あの「狼」のクレスタのCMを思い出した。
1984年秋、トヨタ「クレスタ」のCMに起用された。
あれから40年の歳月が流れたが、色褪せることのない、至高の名曲。
これこそが私にとっての人生一番の楽曲だと思います。
子供の時、物心着いた時にはカセットテープが我が家にはありました。他の曲はそうでもなかったのですが、このAutamnだけは子守唄になっておりました。
それから父親の車でもこの曲を流してもらったり、私の人生において外せない名盤です。
本当に素敵な曲の数々を生み出して下さり、ありがとうございます。

Fond memories of this as a teen. The first time hearing it, in a church sanctuary, lights mostly out, noone there except this cool young guy playing alone on the piano for his own enjoyment. I had to ask him what that was..... and I was hooked for life. That was 30 years ago.
天気予報の曲でした。
I remember the day well, temporarily assigned as an Army engineer, to Rhine Main Air force base in Frankfurt, W Germany on a June day in 1984. I stumbled into the base BX, opting for something other than pub hopping... unbelievably as I entered I noticed the largest display of music albums/cassettes I'd ever seen in my life.
I went straight to the piano/instrumental section and noticed a few Windam Hill & Akerman tapes, w/beautiful pictures on the cases. I bought 7 or 8 sight unseen George Winston and other W.H. offerings, and a Liz Story too - some I still have today. The first one I put into my (small) boom box was Autumn, and the rest is history. Immediately after I put in December and I thought - great googlie mooglie, 4000 mi from home & I find THIS guy...
I've never forgotten that moment, my first encounter w/George's piano. Years later I saw him in person at The Kennedy Center, stocking feet & flannel shirt, playing to a full house !
(I'LL) never forget George, I listen to him all year, especially in Autumn & Winter.
