The analysis and commentaries we in this video were given to us by the illustrious Catholic thinker, Professor Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira. He made these remarks upon learning that Saint John Bosco attempted to intervene in the world political climate that was ruining Europe by destroying the vestiges of relationships between Catholic countries. Had Franz Joseph followed the advice of this great saint, history would have been completely different.
Here’s the full text of St. John Bosco’s letter:
“Letter from Don Bosco to Franz Joseph, May 14, 1873
This is what the Lord says to the Emperor of Austria:
Take heart! Provide for my faithful servants and yourself!
My fury is poured out over all the nations of the earth because you want to make them forget my law, to bring those who profane it into triumph and to oppress those who observe it.
Wilt thou be the rod of my power?
Wilt thou fulfill my arcane wills and become a benefactor of the world?
Lean on the powers of the North, but not on Prussia.
Make relations with Russia, but no alliance.
Associate with France, after France, you will have Spain.
Make one Spirit and one action.
You must have the utmost secrecy with the enemies of my Holy Name. With prudence and energy, you will become invincible.
Do not believe the lies of those who would tell you otherwise.
Abhor the enemies of the Crucified One.
Hope and trust in Me, Who am the Giver of victories to armies, the Savior of peoples and Sovereigns. Amen. Amen.”
Suffice it to say that the correspondence of one person can change the course of history in radically good ways; we can also say that the lack of correspondence can change them in the opposite direction.

We are collectively responsible for how the world has become so corrupted. The level , degrees and volume of sinfulness are at terrifying heights. Apart from Don Bosco’s letter to Franz Joseph, the Fatima requests were ignored - whether we ever got to hear the third secret or not. Nor have we heeded the messages repeated at Akita.
However, while all is not lost, we do have to undergo increasing trials before the Immaculate Heart of Mary triumphs in her Son. It is imperative that we consecrate our own hearts to Jesus' Sacred Heart and Mary's Immaculate Heart. As Pope John Paul II said "Be not afraid!"
Both this fantastic series on Don Bosco (THANK YOU MATTHEW!!!) and the other youtube new series on Padre Pio are very important in these times!! Why? Because these two great saints' example of holiness should help us to persevere. Their miracles are also important because we have lost the sense of both sin and the miraculous. We need to recover both in order to get through to the promised kingdom on earth!!!! And YES it will come! We are all chosen to be apostles of this time and now is the most exciting time to be alive. Our Father in Heaven....

TY for this stunning revelation Matthew. I never heard it before. I'm getting more and more fascinated with Saint John Bosco the more I listen to your Videos.
The only thing I knew about emperor Franz Joseph was the story of his romance with the empress Sissi of Bavaria which was dramatized in a series of movies I used to love watching some years back. I did later read about his son Rudolf's suicide and Sissi's murder by an assassin who was planning to assassinate someone other famous person, I think the Italian Ambassador but finding out that person had left the city decided to assassinate *any* other famous person there and Sissi just happened to "hit this jackpot" of misfortune!
If indeed the house of the Hapsburgs had been abandoned to the will of the malicious one it seems possible that all these misfortunes were *not* coincidence.
I've been praying very much for GOD to help me with obedience even when I don't understand because increasingly I realize that The only 💯 percent reliable *Friend* any of us has *is* GOD. The pull and seduction of the world is strong but sooner or later it betrays you. Doing GOD'S Will seems very hard but I've seen proof that He does give you little or bigger "downloads" of GRACE to help you do the hard thing when you voluntarily try to choke down your ego by doing the seemingly harder thing He asks.
St. John Bosco pray for us to both hear and *obey* The LORD JESUS for our temporal and eternal safety and Joy 🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️💖💖💖

As an Austrian this is very interesting!! I never heard of it until now!
    Some thoughts on it:
Maybe he never received it. This could be.
Another thought: He read it and thought about it and that’s why he hesitated months before giving in to the insults of Prussia to start the first World War.
I don’t know why the rest of the world engaged in an inner Austrian conflict. As Sarajevo was then part of Austria.
    Another thought:
Our lady protected Austria so often!! Always when we start praying the rosary as a people, she liberates us from states that occupied Austria! Twice in the 16th and 17th century, once in the 20th Century and during the pandemic as a group started to pray the rosary for Austria again as an indulgence!

      @BarbaraMarieLouise Před rokem +5

      And one thing to add:
Although he did not do what Don Bosco wrote him, he stood up every morning at 5pm to pray an hour for all the 12 peoples that he reigned over and then he went to work at 6pm.
At least his successor Blessed Emperor Karl of Austria became a saint! And his wife Zita is now in the process of beatification.

You never know that some of Emperor Franz Joseph's assistants never gave this letter to him. If he did see that letter and did nothing, than he was a fool for not listening. I tend to think that it was the latter since God punished him for disobedience like the French Kings after Luis XIV failure to consecrate France.

Isn't it strange how some historical stuff repeats itself ?
Don Bosco got a direct message which was forwarded. May be thrown away.
Our Lady gave messages to Sr. Lucia which was forwarded. Stifled.
Men are stupid to ignore the Creator.
Look where we are now .
There were more Kings then than now.
    They were punished too.

What God bless flourishes what He does not withers.
Your historical account fits with those I have read, this letter is key to the fading of the Habsburgs. Had he not received it they would not have the same fault in God’s “eyes”.
Original sin, mankind not heading God, third secret of Fatima, Russia consecration, how many others we are not familiar with.
    Thank you.

Okay wait a minute... I just watched a symposium on Blessed Karl (on SpiritusTV, recommended). When Franz Ferdinand was killed (and he knew he was about to be martyred), he instructed, I believe, his son? to retrieve a letter in a drawer.
And when his son checked the drawer of his desk, he never found that letter...
... could this have been the letter? Hmm... food for thought...
I also might have mixed up this story. Ah well if I have 6 hours to kill one day, I'll listen to the symposium again.

The Holy Roman Empire was German in as much as it was French, Spanish, English, Scottish, Croatian, Polish, Hungarian and on goes the list - the Emperor held de iure dominion over all the realms of Catholic Christendom (minus the Papal States)
The proof of these de iure borders (and the state as a whole was very much nominal in those fine, gallant days so if one is to insist on what is de facto the Holy Roman Empire under the Habsburgs was just the area in and around Vienna)
One might observe this theory in say, the 1519 elections, when the English King Henry VIII (before he caused the Anglican mess), the French King Francis I., and Charles I./V. of Spain, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, the Netherlands, Burgundy and on goes the list.
I reccomend Viscount Bryce's *The Holy Roman Empire*, as it's quite possibly the greatest History of Western Rome in the English language. Free to read too.

A freudian slip it would seem. I think it's because I wanted him to be the Holy Roman Emperor so much. Francis II was the last in 1806, to my great sadness. I detest Napoleon. My apologies, I guess my subconcious got the better of me there.

A tragedy…but Emperor Franz Joseph did one last act for God! He vetoed the papal election of Cardinal Rampolla, who was a liberal prelate. That veto gave way to PIUS X being elected !

Unlike another austrian;: Hitler. Franz Joseph strenuously defended the Jews of his empire. I had the honor of having both of my grandparents italians veterans of WW1. My father was born in 1915 and my paternal grandfather was decorated for bravery posthumously at the end of August 1917. I also felt that The Emperator he was a great person when I visited twice his grave in the Capuchin Church in Vienna. Surely some Germanist adviser must have told him wrong, that he should not pay attention to an Italian saint, since he have a large Italian surface in austrian possession. Thanks a lot Matthew
