The last 26 years I was able to work I worked as a LPN. I worked with the elderly and the terminally ill. 2001-2006 I worked at a nursing home 7p-7a weekends. It wasn't really bad at first, but as time went on the facility started having problems keeping the beds filled. I had rehab unit and regular nursing home residents. These were 2 separate units. First, second and 7a-7p had a rehab nurse. Third and 7p-7a did not. So basically I did a 2 nurse job. Needless to say the stress increased extremely when they started to take in vent residents. I asked for help and sometimes the rehab nurse did do the HS med pass and sometimes a nurse would come in to do the HS med pass. I had help for awhile but it didn't last long. The stress of caring for 34 residents in 2 units became overwhelming. Then the nightmare scenario happened. I had a resident that fell in the nursing home unit at the same time I had one in the rehab unit with chest pain. There were 2 nurses on the west side and only me on the east side. I got to where I would cry on the way home with relief that the shift was done. I begged Heavenly Father to please help me find another job for 5 years. I finally met one of my previous clients Mom at the grocery store. They needed weekend help. So I went to private duty nursing. For 8 years I worked with a previous girl on a vent. The only reason I kept working for the last 2 years was for this young lady. I had a lot of neck and back pain. When she passed I knew that was it. Later I found out that I had 3 ruptured disks, neck, middle back and lower back. The medical profession has changed a lot since I started working as a LPN. It's mostly about making money that taking care of those that need it.

maybe because the job sucks and is over demanding and under staffed?

Forcing nurses to take the jab.

I would think this is actually one of the biggest reasons, but no one is allowed to speak of it. I'm in a Canadian province where nurses and other care staff are STILL not allowed to work in the profession without the jab....and yet they're crying about there being not enough heatlthcare staff and they're bringing in foreigners, giving them a free pass to those jobs etc. Unbelievable!
