Here we go again, my fav tournament of year, wish it lasted 2 and a half weeks like the world championship. So pumping up to watch the teams competing

I wish more players and fans would shut up about attempts at distracting the players as they're throwing. Faze it out or pump fake and mess with the fans and have a laugh about it.

That is a big problem in Dart, every Nation (except of Belgium) whistle everytime and it sucks

Absolute favourite tournament of the year love it. They need to get camera on the crowd find the whistlers and kick them out plus the players and ref should stop all play until they are booted - these pricks are ruining great games of darts
Should be 8 nations less with no nation being seeded in round two, then groups of four nations with two of them passing group stage. Its a shame for nations like New Zealand and Japan to fail, they deserve better.
Maybe add to this a âGroup Stageâ played in Two Stages (like the UK Open) with two matches of the same group played at the same time.
Agreed . Those 2 teams deserved another chance to show how good they are & still improving .
Removing nations from this tournament won't do much good for the growth of the sport. On top of that, your suggested format adds another session of 12 groupstage (non-elimination) games to the World Cup.
I'm sure if it was profitable, PDC would go for that. But they don't, which shows that your suggestion might not be that good. I get your point, though, I feel bummed for NZ and Japan too.

I've only been following Darts for the better part of a year now, and this is the first time I've seen them doing teams of two. I'm surprised they don't have these games being 701's. That's usually what I play if we are doing teams

The USA, Portugal match was there for the taking by the US. Lauby and Van Dongen were straight up awful. That wasn't even good enough to win a bar league match. So disappointing.

@@thecat5497 Leonard would have been a better choice than Van Dongen. Lauby can be great when he is on, but he wasn't. Problem is it goes by PDC Order of Merit. Lauby and Van Dongen play in Europe more than Gates and have a better chance at qualifying money. Right now Lauby is 102, Van Dongen is 139, and Gates 140. He missed it by 500 Euro. Painful.

It's been about 30 years since I threw competitive darts, and I think I could STILL hold my own against that US team.... and I only throw (at home) about an hour a month...
