And it’s like Rashawn has ALWAYS captured Roi’s spirit sooooo respectfully and beautifully 💫
There was several years they sounded pretty weak with a declining boyd but the keyboard player fits well and they're sounding solid as anything now
It's the energy. The being present in every moment. The listening, contributing, exploring. I'll miss Boyd forever, I think the band is better now. They've been "on" since 2019, but Covid got in the way for a while. I've been going to shows since 95 and to my ears this band is as effortlessly great as any previous iteration. Everything is that perfect blend of tight/loose. And when they venture all the way to the loose side, when they explore, they're on a completely different level. They will never be the same as they were in (insert year here) because they're different people now. I like these people. I like this band. They're really really good.

Dallas is tonight and I am just bursting with joy!!!!!! I have missed the “back from the day” May tour dates for Texas that I went to for 20 + years.. Covid fucked it all up, but the Summer Drive In series saved my life. Then we saw them in 2021 in New Mexico and the show was stellar and magical but the crowd vibe was different. Ive been longing for this again!!!!!!
