They easily defeated them before expecting them to have the same torpedoes only to have a far more powerful weapon hit them and then to their surprise, their hull plating was rending their weapons far less effective.

There was an episode of an alternate future where Earth was destroyed by the Xindi and the NX-01 was refitted with Androian shields. The NX-01 sadly was still destroyed as it was heavily outgunned and out numbered plus it had no torpedoes due to anti matter being low meaning it didn't have access to it's full tactical prowess. I think in the battle of azati prime, shields would have allowed it to last longer but I still think the end result would have been the same, the NX-01 might have taken less damage though as the shields would have protected the ship for longer while Archer was talking to Degra.
It's amazing to see the Klingons have technology that's pretty much exactly on par with the Federation. For this there must have always been a group of brainiac Klingons that are able to resist the urge to be "great warriors" and focus on math & physics on an unimaginable level. Hard to imagine such über-genius level Klingons exist and love academia more than fighting.
friendo of mine has the head canon of the klingon science academy. they keep technological advancements to themselves and drip feed the less damaging and dangerous tech to the rest of the empire as a way to keep the empire in check
All Klingons are warriors, but battle is far from the only discipline. This is proven by the Klingon Lawyers we meet in DS9 and later in Enterprise. Even Marriage is considered a battleground, so it's reasonable to assume the other forms of "battle" are approached with similar levels of aplomb.
Generally in ST lore Photon Torpedoes at high yields were enough to make modern nukes look like firecrackers. Would have probably deleted Duras outright 😂
Klingons by nature on unconscionable. They would've continued to fire and eventually destroy Enterprise if their ship was better shielded against the newer weapons.
Yea no, archer would have droped under warp and use the new phasers in combination with the torps sooooo no matter how you turn it, althou getting damaged and needing to return, the enterprise would defeat a single BoP by that point.

Archer should have used the maximum yield on his first volley. Either the ship would have been critically damaged or Duras would have been shocked and break off sooner.
55% was enough to knocked Dura's ship out of warp. I agree but this was just to showcase to the viewer just how much more powerful the ship had become after it's refit.
I think enterprise came out at the wrong time, if we could go back and tell them to wait another 10 years then I believe it would have been received way better and we possibly would’ve gotten the romulan war along with the formation of the UFP in seasons 5&6

Am I the only one who thinks Enterprise should have used older tech? No transporters, no tractor beams, and no photon(ic) torpedoes? Phasers and photons are basically the same weapon set used by the Enterprise D, 220 years later. In that same time, we've gone from muzzle loading cannons to smart bombs.
They did use older tech. They had a very basic version of the transporter that no one trusted in S1 and S2. Enterprise also didn’t have a tractor beam they had a magnetic grappler. They didn’t have shields they had hull plating. In the first couple of seasons they’re primary armament we’re nuclear spatial torpedos that we’re limited to sub light speeds, after there time out in space it’s no wonder they developed antimatter warheads considering the good look they got at the Klingon versions. They also didn’t use phasers they used phase cannons.
@@adamking4538 The grappler was tech done right. They should have stuck with the spatial torpedoes, too. Yes, photon torpedoes are better, but that is part of the point: Enterprise should have been an era where the technology was different, not same stuff different era.

They did. Those pulse "phaser's" they use are basicaly their 2nd iteration of weapon. The first was a phase beam emiter packed in a small turret. They also used nuclear torpedo's instead of antimater ones wich they only got AFTER the Xindi attack on earth. This also is the ONLY non in line with OG CANON occurance in the entire series as Section 31 stole the Photons from the Klingons who invented them first(Same for the Quantum torpedo's realy, dominion used them first, feds adopted AND improved them). So yea, about 100 years they improved to the level of using nukes as common armament AND have the first iteration of particle accelerator beam up and running. 2nd Iteration , called the phaser, was made in the aftermath of the Xindi attack (Remember, they skip quiet some time in between episodes, it most likely took them weeks if not a month or more to get back after getting the message). Ofc. they fitted older ships with those weapons first (aka, the Emmete and Intrepid classes) as the columbia was far from ready and enterprise wasnt around for the modern tech to happen (Season 1 is around a year or even more in time and earth did in fact outgrow anything in a short time (enterprise going toe to toe with vulcan ships later is prove of their improvement, shure they lose but do damage regardless). Sooo nope, anything older than what they used would not be a thing given how experimental and new the enterprise was already.
Starfleet likely purchased technology from other species. There's no reason to believe Earth would have to invent these things. They were already available and sold by governments and traders.
