I totally agree Andrew Lincoln was/is the absolute best actor to play Rick Grimes! Mr. Lincoln has completely made Rick Grimes, Rick Grimes! No one could ever play this role near as good as Andrew Lincoln has done!
And to think, Thomas Jane was almost cast. Frank Darabaunt brought the Walking Dead to TV. He used some of the same cast from the movie "The Mist," in which he also directed. Cast members like: Jeffrey Demunn ( Dale) Melissa McBride ( Carol) Laurie Holden ( Andrea) He wanted to use Tom Jane, the lead in "The Mist," he also played the Punisher. But Tom Jane was doing another series on HBO called "Hung," and he wasn't able to play Rick Grimes. We then got Andy. "Hung" only lasted 1 season, too. Tom Jane later in an interview expressed his regret for not taking the role because at the time, he was out of work, and TWD took off. Honestly, Tom Jane wouldn't have brought the same energy as Andy does. Not even close. Andy IMO is a much better actor. He is not so dry as Tom Jane. We lucked out with Andy. He is 100% Rick Grimes. He is lead on and off set. He gets the fans pumped and cheerleads for the show and has great energy. The cast refers to him as the quarterback of the show on and off set. He genuinely loves the cast, crew, story, and fans, and it shows. He's humble, he's sweet, he's loyal, he's fun, he has a great sense of humor and is extremely talented. He is Rick Grimes! As much as I loved Dale's casting I cannot fathom how Darabont thought Laurie Holden would fit as Andrea unless they wanted to tighten the age gap between Dale and her character. Or as much as we love what Melissa McBride brought to Carol and how her character would later evolve from who the comic book character was, I don't get how he saw her as that character. It makes me think he just likes casting actors he's worked with in other projects.

Without Andrew Lincoln, there'd be no Rick and with no Rick, there'd be no walking dead, he brang Rick Grimes to life, there is absolutely no body else that can play a better Rick than him. ❤

Well, then I guess you can’t hear correctly, because his voice is perfect for Rick Grimes. Andrew is also an amazing actor and plays his role extremely well. Nobody else could have played him better.
I get that everyone experiences sound and sight differently but I've watched all 11 seasons of TWD approximately 42 times and I fail to see/hear any scene in which Andrew Lincoln struggled with his American accent in the series. I'm somewhat of a tv/movie buff and over the years I've watched numerous actors who fumbled their accents and completely distracted me from the characters they were portraying, so I understand what you're talking about. I just haven't experienced it with Andrew Lincoln playing Rick Grimes. I'd love it if you could provide at least an example of a scene or line where this occurred? I'm genuinely interested to see if I missed something. Thanks, Cat 🇨🇦
