Whilst waiting for a private charter hauled by 87002 to fly from London Kings Cross up north to Newcastle, I decided to spend a few good hours at Hadley Wood amusing myself by getting some horns off the variety of commuter and express passenger trains that flew past at speed ... and I wasn't disappointed not to have done!
Here we see many First Capital Connect and East Coast drivers giving me good blasts on the horn as they pass through the station at up to speeds of 115 mph. A couple of EC HSTs are included in the mix of trains that thundered through, along with a couple of ear-splitters from the Class 91s, and a fantastic 9/10 tone horn from an FCC 321 on the Down Slow, which was the best one of the day!
And if that wasn't enough, we were even lucky to capture a freight train passing through northbound too, hauled by GBRf 66702 on an northbound bin liner with a tone and some good thrash!
Furthermore, you may notice that the second part of the video was handheld, and that was because unfortunately the tripod completely broke mid-way through my afternoon session! A slight disappointment there, but nonetheless, my videos ended up being not too shaky and the content was still ace all the same.
    Enjoy! :)
