This is one of my favorite performances ever. She is one of the greatest singers who decided to take the background vocal spot instead of upfront. This particular performance is number one to me. FYI won a Grammy for this with Michael Narada Wilson.
Ms. Lisa Fischer IMO is the most underrated singer and performer of her era. Lisa is still alive, well, and performing here in and around my native Brooklyn. At the ripe young age of 63 she can still hit that F6 and still just as beautiful as ever. She spent 25 years as Luther Vandross' backup singer as well as singing with the Rolling Stones for many years. She is the featured performer in the film "20 Feet From Stardom".

Mixxed REACTIONS - Lisa choose to remain a back up singer. She was Luther Vandross back up singer for 22 years. Luther encouraged her to go solo. She refused and wanted to stay out of the limelight. So we can't be mad at her decision. But if she did decide to go solo she would have blown other artists out of the water.
