Staying in czech as a foreign student the humble doner kebab is amazing, good value for money, a lot of stuffing, easy to eat quickly and on the move, good flavors that are familiar and easy on the palate. Actual perfection in a meal.
Sadly the kebab prices are rising and at least in Germany are going to increase further with the new year. We need to fight against these unbearable circumstances!
As an American person I would say that it really deserves to fly to Germany to taste this amazing food.. and then absolutely it deserves also to fly to Türkiye from Germany to taste the real döner instead the one in Germany :)
@Dormouse thanks for letting me know. To me, it appears they all have the white sweet sauce in common even though they taste differently. Which is what differentiates a doner, donair, döner from a gyro or shwarma. I find that sauce outputting, making the entire thing inedible but that's what people live about them.
We do have that here in Germany too, it’s called „Döner Pizza“, they’re so filling. I pride myself on being able to eat quiet a lot and after a good one I’m filled to the brim.
I'm Spanish, I love all kinds of fast foods and for me the only thing better than a cheap burger after drinking or a kebab, are churros. .... With all due respect to patatas bravas and bocata de tortilla de patata con alioli.
Specially it feels soo good when you finish your shift late at night, and that is the only thing still open at the time, and that's at the time that kebab feels the best thing you ever had in your life.
I think those little like indoor glass fire places or whatever that you can have that is a real fire look so pretty in the background. Something like Laura Lee has but a little nicer okay a lot nicer. LOL I'm not talking about those fireplaces that you plug in. I also love those coffee tables that are real lightable fireplaces with the butane so gorgeous
Döner is just the word for the meat. Dürüm is the word for the wrap so it's absolutely right. It's technically a dürüm Döner. That's why you also call it a Döner pizza or a döner Box if it has the meat. And often the "normal" döner is called a döner sandwich
There was a place in konegstein that had the best in my opinion. But that was a lifetime ago in the 90s. It's what I got in every town. It drove my parents crazy sometimes. Fun times.
I could never relate to a video that much. I could eat Döner every day, and sometimes I even do like 4 times a week. I told all my ex girlfriends that they just couldnt compete with my love for Döner. Which is probably why they're my exes. Which just proves my point!

Gonna previse this with: turkish cuisine is AMAZING! However, according to multiple Turkish friends of mine the Döner in Germany (Berlin especially) is better. According to my best friend (who also lives in turkey) the main difference is the sauce they use in Germany, which makes it superior to the Turkish version. When I visited her she told me to not buy any döner there cause it's simply not as good. Especially compared to all the other street food there was to eat
@@virgorules5210sorry to break it to you but döner kebab is something completely different in turkey. It was invented in germany and thats also where you get the best kebab ;)
A good Döner is always nice. What I love about it, is the cultural fusion. The döner (the spiraling meat) is a Turkish thing, but them some Turkish immigrants in Berlin came up with the idea of stuffing it into a piece of bread (a döner sandwhich if you will). It's so German and so Turkish at the same time and perfectly symbolizes how Turkish immigrants made Germany a better place.
Döner is originally stuffed into bread. This is Dürüm Döner. Its has nothing to do with immigrants trying to fit in the German culture, although I'm glad you took that perspective to look from. Remember we eat more bread than any nation in the world lol.
I miss having good easy to find döner. Like there's a good Mediterranean place I can get to but it's like a 45 minute drive. When I lived in Austria it was right in the square. They also had pizza. Every time I'd go out for the night it was a döner and a half pizza. Perfect for having a fun time drinking.
I lived in Istanbul and the 5-7 lira döner was me and my (then) boyfriend's regular cheap lunch when we were very low on budget and high on love lol. Well, we are married now and live in other parts of the worl. But a juicy doner from the old Turkish amca and his hearty smile is what I miss the most. God bless Turkey.
@LeCielIndigo I understand it as they are married to different people and live in different parts of the world to each other. Hence saying she misses his smile. Maybe I'm wrong I dunno.
I think I had something like this in the UK it came from a small place that delivered the food when I was staying with my daughter....it was so good all the veggies in it...

Was it by any chance the hotel just by a train station? Enjoy Kebap?
@@tuttyfat from what I‘ve heard it tastes pretty different, though. Even in Europe nothing compares to the döner in Germany.
@Dormouse thanks for letting me know.
To me, it appears they all have the white sweet sauce in common even though they taste differently. Which is what differentiates a doner, donair, döner from a gyro or shwarma. I find that sauce outputting, making the entire thing inedible but that's what people live about them.
as an Italian who loves pizza, kebab is definitely the best fast food you'll ever gonna find in Europe
In Norway we decided to put the kebab on the pizza, and it’s still delicious, u got both on ur plate now man!
We do have that here in Germany too, it’s called „Döner Pizza“, they’re so filling. I pride myself on being able to eat quiet a lot and after a good one I’m filled to the brim.
What about a good gyro? I think the tzatziki is better than the garlic sauce
I'm Spanish, I love all kinds of fast foods and for me the only thing better than a cheap burger after drinking or a kebab, are churros.

Glad I'm not the only one who was confused
Yepp, me: that is not a Döner?!🤨
Döner is just the word for the meat. Dürüm is the word for the wrap so it's absolutely right. It's technically a dürüm Döner. That's why you also call it a Döner pizza or a döner Box if it has the meat. And often the "normal" döner is called a döner sandwich

As you said: a better place🥲
Yeah my granfather always told me about the dark times before Döner appeared.

Döner is originally stuffed into bread. This is Dürüm Döner. Its has nothing to do with immigrants trying to fit in the German culture, although I'm glad you took that perspective to look from. Remember we eat more bread than any nation in the world lol.
