  • SPECTACULAR RAINFOREST Fog and Light | Atmospheric Landscape Photography Vlog | Sony A7III
In this landscape photography vlog I visit Lamington National Park on a foggy morning for some rainforest woodland photography, it was the perfect balance of Fog and Light (inspiration for this video's title) to make some interesting woodland photography compositions. I use what I believe is the best lens for woodland photography / forest photography.
Join me on this landscape photography adventure, enjoy the rainforest sounds of nature, the foggy conditions and warm light for some woodland photography and minimalist landscape photography.

Beautiful images Rauri. The rainforest is a gorgeous location although often busy and chaotic to shoot. I loved the 38mm images. I shoot micro four thirds and a 15mm (30 FF eqiv) f1.7 is one of my favourite lenses. As for the leeches tuck the bottom of your pants into your socks and spray your boots, bottom of the pants and bare skin with DEET. Bushmans Plus often works. Leeches hate the stuff. If you are not bothered by them the little ones will drop off after about 30 mins. Thanks for sharing.

Between you, jez and Lisa I think I I have become slightly addicted to this place ! What conditions Rauri. As ever your production & editing on these "on location" episodes are a delight to watch - minus the leeches of course 😝 Cracking set of images and fabulous conditions for woodland photography for sure - love that fallen tree image, great little find that. Not a lot to choose between the 24 & 38m shots for me. Just a quick note of the broken lens thing - the b roll from the fuji gives a different look from the actual still taken with the Sony.. if I am honest I preferred the "green greens" of the footage over the sony's "yellow greens" you have been showing in the epiosde if that makes sense? Be interesting to know which was closer to what you was actually seeing on the day? Rather strange as I have moved back to a Canon as you know because I missed canon colour science - which are known for their "warmer" colours, especially the greens. That's not to say I didn't like the stills but when showing the stills alongside the broll in this it was something I noticed - not a criticism btw. Nice to see you back out in the field, great watch. atb Al

Thanks mate - a magical place hey! It’s a bit of effort for me to get there but always worth it 🤩. Appreciate your kind words and feedback too as always. Interesting that you pointed out the difference is colour, that’s the issue I guess with filming and photographing on two different systems. To answer your question, the more true to life colour is the Sony photos, with the rich green and yellow highlights, I film on the Fuji, with the film simulation Eterna which gives the video a less saturated effect, brings up shadows slightly, similar to what mr Heaton uses. I like the effect for video. Thanks again mate 😊

Thanks a lot Colin! Oh no, can you take something that helps prevent the allergies, how do you handle leech environments?

Good stuff and amazing conditions Rauri. Is the blood on your shirt your blood, or is it from the leeches? Nasty little things, gross. Some really nice shots in this one mate. I really liked the vertical one at 2:42 with that long root leading into the shot. I think my fav shot though was the horizontal pathway shot of the big beech trees at 4:34. Nice deep dark tones in the foreground and beautiful light coming through at the top of the frame. Too bad you didn't have all day to hang out and explore a bit more. Great video mate, really enjoyed it!

Hi Paul thanks for checking in mate! Yeah my blood 😂 the leeches are pretty good at sucking the blood and I’ve heard (not sure if true) but they thin the blood around where they suck which is why it bleeds a bit after you get them off. Thanks for the support mate 😊 have a good weekend
