Rhapsody for Jazz Trumpet and Concert Band

Karl King Band Concert June 30th, 2013 at Olson Park in Ft. Dodge featured a commisioned band piece entitled "RHAPSODY FOR JAZZ TRUMPET AND CONCERT BAND" for long time member, Wayne Crowe of Pocahontas. Wayne suddenly passed away a year ago and the piece will incorporate the jazz styles of some of Wayne's favorite groups and soloists. Those sounds will be reminiscent of Bill Chase, Harry James, and the group Weather Report, which recorded the song Birdland. Tim Miller was the trumpet soloist for this exciting new work. Andrew Glover, Composer of the piece, was the guest conductor for the concert also!!
