- When you spread vaseline on your stove the results will amaze you! I know this sounds a little strange, but trust me it's genius. With this simple and clever vaseline cleaning hack you will always have a shiny stove. Who knew vaseline could be so versatile?!
As always, use at your own risk - per Vaseline "Many people mistakenly believe petroleum jelly to be a fire risk because petroleum itself can be a flammable material. However, in the way it’s designed to be used and stored, Vaseline® Jelly is not flammable."

@Andrea Jean Cleaning Can you do one on how to get grease stains off the wall behind the stove please?
I love these tips very nice thanks for sharing
@@annablack475 I use 409 cleaner, & sometimes I use the brand
METHOD, the gray bottle is the one specifically for cleaning grease! I'm very satisfied with results of either one of these products for grease clean up!👍
Do I need to wipe off the Vasoline after it's applied? I'm concerned about the slippery mess, bc Vasoline is a thick, greasy mess, almost worse than grease from cooking.🤔 Thanks.
Wow
Every Boy Scout and avid camper packs Vaseline as part of their fire starting kit. Because it is so flammable
Yep
I was thinking the same 😮thing
Yep, telling people this is non flammable is dangerous
I use petroleum jelly to make fire starters.
Boy scouts carried it assist with penetration by their scout leaders.
It’s a fire extender
As an outdoorsman, as most of us do, I have a fire starting kit. One of the easiest ways to start a fire is using cotton balls dipped in petroleum jelly. Just a spark or two from a ferro rod and they'll burn for about 5 minutes.
Yeah is this a non-flammable version that's being used on the stove? Normally the stuff is flammable; my first thought when seeing this was the cotton balls & Vaseline combo for a great fire starter. Afterall +petroleum+ jelly is made from hydrocarbons.
@@clamum9648 I thought the same thing.
This is true
This tip is an accident waiting to happen. At first I thought this was a prank video. I know lets use something highly flammable as a protective layer on a gas cooker. Seriously!
Pet jelly is flammable. In a hospital you can not put it on a patients face bc with the oxygen it can catch fire with a small static spark. Yes it is rare but common enough you will be written up for doing it. Is it likely if you do not get it too close to a flame? No, but even she BETTER EDIT THE VIDEO DUE TO PEOPLE LOOKING FOR A WAY TO GET MONEY!!
Great job I have been using this trick for decades my sweet grandmother showed me this and everytime I do it I think of her. I'm going to be sixty nine years old and you just gave me an incredible birthday gift. THANK You. Life is good sometimes and when it doesn't seem that way we look back and say life is good.
Thank you so much for sharing this clean tip of the stove. I just clean the stove and put a thin coating of Vaseline. Now the stove looks so much better.
The other night I rubbed my stove with Vaseline and now every night My stove won’t leave me alone…
What
😂🤣🤣🤣 This had me dying thanks
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You have obviously turned on your stove. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just love you. Great idea. You get right to the point.
I seen this today & my goodness it worked my stove & the microwave look good. Thanks for the tip
You can do the same thing with orange oil and it smells much better. You can use the orange oil on your stainless steel sinks and stainless steel refrigerators to make it shine. It's smells much pressure then Vaseline
My 85yr old grandmother puts this on her face EVERY NIGHT her whole life and litter has not one wrinkle with porcelain doll skin.
My daughter puts Vaseline on her neck and hairline when she dyes her hair so her skin doesn’t discolor too 👍😃
I do that too
I been doing that a long time
Yes that's about a fifty-year-old trick
Yup
I do that before I go get my hair coloured at the hairdressers. It works!
How does you recommendation work on stainless steel cooktops?
This is great.. I normally clean the stove when it’s hot..that gets everything off too. But to prevent the debris from sticking..thank you mom. Only a mother is this innovative and creative. Just beautiful 🤩
Zzz,
Better keep a dang FIRE EXTINGUISHER near by lol. It's GREASE. PERTO - GAS BASED GREASE. 100% FIRE HAZARD!
I will definitely try that tip. I think it will help a lot with the future cleaning, and the steel wool being used to clean those stubborn spots looks like an excellent tip too. Thank you!
I would skip the steel wool as it will eventually scratch up the paint and then you will be sad you did it
I use baking soda and vinegar soak to get any really stubborn stuff off my gas stove. First a spray of a solution of essential oils + a bit of dish soap in water. Only have to break out the baking soda a few times a year.
Andrea Jean, You are terrific and your help is stupendous! I have kept house since l was 18, married to my US soldier husband who then was shipped off to Viet Nam for a year and made a career of the US Army. Wherever we went, l always went to college, while keeping house and raising kids. Seven different colleges, but l became a teacher and enjoyed a wonderful career. I’m 75 with s-so health now, my first and second husband, parents, and my children, sister, brother, lifelong best friends have all passed away… Guess what though, l’m still keeping house as best l am able, while l am raising my 11 year old grandson and my now 19 year old granddaughter. They are such a Blessing! Anyway, through it all l learned and continue to learn many new tips and tricks to make my house a good home. Numerous of yours are more modern and effective and so easy- Thank You so very much. Here’s one of my all time favorite tips: If you use the round paper accordion type coffee filters when making coffee, you may have trouble separating the individual ones from each other. Grab a layered stack which is the thickness of about a 1/2”, and keeping them stacked like that turn the whole unit inside out in one simple motion. Voila! They’re separated now but still stacked together neatly. Easy to grab each single filter at a time right off the top. Some people keep the stacks inside the ground coffee container on top of the coffee, but l just keep mine in a little round container next to the coffee canister in the cupboard.😉
I use Vaseline in the shop all the time. Great stuff right up there with the best inventions
Right up there with duct tape and WD-40
@@marvinhenrie6705 WD-40 is great stuff, but never use it inside without PLENTY of ventilation.
Wow 0000 steel wool and petroleum jelly! 😎Thank you Andrea!
Be careful with stainless steel sponges because they will make little gray scratch marks. I would suggest using Magic Erasers instead and bars keepers
All 3 of those are very abrasive. Magic eraser is basically wet sanding anything you scrub. Most things are not harder than it. Bar keepers has ceramic abrasives too. So just an fyi for people using these products, be sure you are okay with rubbing paint, coatings, & other materials off of what you're cleaning. They work great obviously, but some things you'd rather keep pristine.
Magic erasers are very high grit, so essentially you're getting a near polish finish. It tends to make paint shiny. If you look closely at ceramics and other materials after using it, you can see micro scratches in certain light. I found that out the hard way after cleaning a bathroom. It looked great, but when the light hit just right I could see the wear. So now I am very picky on what I use when it contains hard abrasives.
Isn't that flat ceramic removable? Mine is. I remove mine when I clean up my stovetop.
Vaseline??? Who would have ever thought. Completely and totally amazing. Thank you sharing this info.
Oh wow, just saw this, im definitely going to try it for those tough stains on my stove
Would this work on the inner parts (middle area) of an electric stove, NOT near the burners?
hi does this work on a glass induction hob or just metal? thanks
As the house wife man of the house this video was extremely appreciated 👍
If you only need to apply once a month, does it still stay on if you clean your stove after cooking?
1st time I've heard about using it on your stove!😀 I've used it all my life to keep from being "ashy"🤭.
Love your tips☺👍🏽.
@@bjm260 Thanks for the Dove exfoliating scrub tip❣
I use an exfoliating glove w/my 'Dr. Teal's' body wash twice a week but I've been looking for a nicely scented Scrub that I can just slather on w/my hands🙌🏽 that'snot as pricey as the B&BW scrubs😋. I'll definitely pick up the Dove next time I'm in Walmart. 👍🏽
It’s flammable!!
Michele Bradley 🤣🤣🤣 That's what I use it for too but I'm doing this tomorrow.
What do u mean a ashy?
@Debbie Schepers Ashy is a commonly used term (by many Black people) to describe dry, pale, grayish/ashen colored skin.
hihi all , for many years I have been using a good car wax on all my appliances & many other surfaces resulting in these same results plus more , it is more work than Andrea's quick tip , but I find the results last a few years , have a blessed day everyone 😊
So u just rub turtle wax on ur stove top, polish it, wipe it and it remains non stick in other words for years on end?? Did i read that right? Omg! I need to know please!!!! I need to do this.
@@peacenluvreggae same!!
@Lori Konrad you seem to have sparked some interest with your "good car wax" idea. People are wanting to know more about it, including me.
Lori .. are you talking about the paste type of car wax that needs to be buffed? Do you use an electric buffer?
Or are you referring to the liquid wax?
@@briannab5296not all paste waxes need to be buffed with a buffer. Say for instance "Turtle Wax" paste if put on correctly, will dry to a haze that will easily wipe off with a soft cloth of some kind.
How to get the stove clean it was little bad when we moved in , need a good tip to clean the stove porcelain. Thanks
Bar Keeper's Friend works well on porcelain sinks. It can eventually damage the surface over years of use and heavy handed scrubbing. If you use it with a soft cloth/sponge and don't let it sit too long, it's best. You will be amazed! It would take our porcelain kitchen sink from yellow to white in about a minute. I usually did this about 3x a week. We've since replaced the sink. So how I did it was, wet the sink, shake the powder on the stained surfaces. Let it sit about a minute, then rinse and wipe away. Simple. However, you may find you need a more thorough rinse. It also works on tubs/showers to remove iron (orange) from well water.
Thank you for this great tip, I will try it the next time I clean 🙏❤️
Thanks so much for the tip and the LINK for the steel wool. They're inexpensive and should have them by tomorrow
from Amazon. Thanks!!!
Just got a new stove today and I want it to look this way forever😊. Will oil it up today!
I'm gonna try it thanks for the tip 🥰
Great Tip. Thank you 😁. I used to remove mascara with PJ, it took it off very quickly plus my eyelashes grow thicker👍
I love your cooking hacks
Genius! Thank you.
Oh I'm definitely gonna try this.
As the saying goes Mum knows best & your Mum's proved that & I do clean on top of my stove everytime I use it, but can't get round the edge bits, I never new that, thanks for that, I will definitely make sure to go & buy vaseline, thank you 👍
Genius level 10!
OMG why I never seen this before thank you sooooo much
Would this work on the flat glass top stoves?
I tried this hack yesterday after watching this video and it worked wonderfully!
Also the best for dry skin!
Petroleum Jelly/Vaseline smells MUCH better and MUCH less expensive than WD-40 too! I have to admit that I buy "cheap" or "generic" brands of all purpose lubricating/penetrating oil to do all the same tricks, but I like the petroleum jelly idea much better! I wonder how well Vaseline works with getting gum off carpets? I've only ever used (cheap) lubricating/penetrating oil.
I was certainly concerned about the "not flammable "petroleum jelly. But then I realized, mostly all oven and stove cleaners are highly flammable.
@@truly3743 Exactly. Plus petroleum jelly wouldn't come off easily. I do not recommend.
I will try this. Does it matter if it's scented? Thank you and your mom.
Neat trick thanks for the heads up I use yeast in the drains seems to help keep them clean
How so?
Yeast as in a live packet of yeast???
Yi
In all my years never knew. Thank you so much much .
Outstanding!🤗
Thank you for this tip, will try it
Thank you thank you I will try this
Thank you for sharing this video with me.
My Mother did this once a month..her washer dryer and refrigerator too.. anything porcelain
Great tip. I'm a believer!!!!
You can use oven cleaner to get the grease marks off. Also, baby oil works for protecting the stove as well as for shining up stainless steal appliances. I've been doing for years. Works like a charm..
Oven cleaner is very dangerous for pets especially birds, and very bad for your health, so I love looking for alternatives and this is great!
@@iSheree yes but a gas stove SPARKS. This is a house fair WAITING!! 😱😱😱
@@iSheree you can't even use petroleum jelly aka Vaseline on people with oxygen cause it could start a fire!

Hello love the tip I have basically the same stove but in black what do you use to get water that's boiled over it is extremely stuck on
Wow! Thanks For Sharing.
your stove is so clean! i must make mine like yours thanks friend
Would this work on a flat top stove?
Amazing, thank you!
I'm going to give this a try! New gas stove and not sure best way to clean it.
Never knew- thanks
Thank you for video. This much safer than using harsh chemicals and also it is cheaper. I even used a steamer, and still had a problem. Scrubbing baked on grease and grime is a job in itself. I will definitely will do this. Thank you again.
Have the fire 🔥 men on speed dial
Lol yes this stuff IS flammable
The other day I seen some guy with a spray can and dawn inside, but the color motivate me to think of downey to remove something that had dirt on it stuck. I usually don't deep clean with expensive stuff, but it worked. I think Vaseline is dangerous, but I can't wait to try it, I'm sure it will work well.
Ok ima try this
Oh my gosh if this works even half as good as you say I'm trying this tomorrow God bless
You are the BEST!!😊
Question!! Does this work on flat top stoves?? What are your cleaning tips for flat top stoves??
Bar keepers friend works amazing on glass stoves the powder
Mr clean eraser pads work awesome on flat top. Wet the sponge. Little elbow rub. Do this after cooking, and the top has cooled down. Then use dawn dish soap, just a small drop with a microfiber towel.( Wet towel.) This makes it shine👍
Green scrubbers work great on glass tops and don't scratch!
@@pamelamusante5343 *Appreciate your tip. 👍👍👍* Sharon in SC
You should show us when it gets dirty as well. Always good to show that.

Great tip!!
I just used your vaseline suggestion to take off a gummy residue on my laminate floor and it worked like a charm. I rubbed it in to the gummy spot and easily wiped the whole thing off with a paper towel. Thanks for the tip!
Peanut butter works also

Thank you for the tip I'll try that instead of WD-40 😃
Awesome thx 😊👍😘
Wow! I’m gonna try this ! I swear all the money i spend on Beauty creams and it all comes back to good old fashion Vaseline
Does this work on electric ceramic stove tops?
You can clean those grates and burner covers easily by putting them in a bag, putting ammonia in the bag (don’t cover them just put a couple cups in…it’s the fumes that loosens it). Tie up bag and leave overnight. You won’t believe how easily the grime comes off!
I can’t find ammonia in Canada since coronavirus

What about stoves that have the newer top that doesn't have raised heating heating areas? They heat up under a flat surface. Does it work the same for those?
Don’t you really wonder sometimes why people refuse to clean! That’s a great idea thank you
