OMG I love JVN sooo much! I am a 52-year-old heterosexual female, and I did my first juice fast/yoga retreat at Kripalu in the Berkshires a couple of decades ago. When one's colon is cleaned out, it really absorbs any liquid that you put into it. So whenever I was doing a 7-21-day juice-fast cleanse that involved enemas, I got completely freaked out by how my senses of smell and hearing were razor-sharp. One thing that I learned at Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, FL, is to introduce wheatgrass into one's enema or colonic, I think because there is some vein or artery in the lower intestine that slurps it up immediately. So that would explain how a coffee enema or a wine enema would have such an immediate effect, meaning the smell of coffee would come out of your pores almost instantly, or a wine enema would make you drunk for several hours.
Well and what I learned from these comments is we must not do these coffee or wine enemas any longer! So please don’t follow my lead here!
This needs to be a required viewing in EV-ER-Y health/sex ed/sexuality classes. High school. University. Community College. Driver's ed. Spread that knowledge, JVN!

Another dilemma- It appears that everyone around me, on social media, and just generally in the queerosphere -younger and older- has found themselves and are so comfortably out.
Meanwhile I'm in my 30s over here feeling like I'm going through second puberty.
Like, do awkward coming-out-of-the-closet phases exist anymore in the year 2022?
Despite attending protests, being politically active and even playing pride festivals as an "ally", I now feel like I missed the boat by not coming to terms with my sexuality sooner.
I have tried to do Tinder and stuff but a lot of people are looking for a unicorn, or don't take me seriously because I "can't pick a team".
Anyways, thanks for all you do. Over the pandemic, You, Elvira, Trixie & Katya have been such a safe place for me to feel comfortable really connecting with myself and what it means to be a queer person.

HA! In college (decades ago) a friend finally came out sophomore year, but he had not yet forayed into any physical contact yet (because he had to get over his catholic crazy first.) I was an RA in a freshman residence hall and my friend would come hang out with me when I was on call at night. I liked to sit by the door when the kids were coming in from parties to make sure everyone could walk by themselves (so they didn't end up dying in their sleep which training had made me super paranoid about. So he got to know all the kids, and eventually started going to parties with one resident on my floor. That was his introduction to gay campus life, and I then got to hear a LOT of details about prepping and lots of other things over the years.... I still love him and our very inappropriate conversations in the dining hall over dinner. Memories!

You have to really be careful when using longer and more powerful douches because they can create tears and increase risk of infections from STIs. Also, when buying them from a pharmacy and looking for a douche beware of pre-made enemas because they tend to have laxatives, look for douches that you put your own enema into instead, or really wash out that laxative before use if that's all you can find.
