Here is a thought for preserving the liquid….pour into ice cube trays and freeze and pop out and thaw as needed…seems like it would work…
Great idea! I will try that!
Austin,TX USA
Good idea, especially for the solutions that turned out great.
Beat juice
Belle idée, merci

Love love love your ideas!
Adding vinegar or baking soda will change the color of your dies depending on the PH. Your red cabbage will become pink if you add vinegar. (I think)! Love the ideas!
And if you add bicarb it turns a pastel green 💚
This was so well-presented! I took screen shots of all your charts. Adding 1 tsp. table salt and 1 tsp. white vinegar per cup of ink will help preserve it and keep it from fading. The ink bottles and any projects should be kept out of sunlight. As one author puts it, natural inks are alive and they will change over time. We should embrace that change if we we want to use these on covers where they will inevitably fade.
Vinegar is a modifier and will change the colour.
Paprika for dye, brilliant! I never would have thought of it. That rusty orange is one of my favorite colors. Paired with the turmeric yellow, perfection! Your channel is such a creative joy. Thanks for the inspiration.
Wonderful ideas! And freezing the colors into ice cube is brilliant!
I've made hibiscus dyed paper. It turns out to be a beautiful purplish blue. I did the same as you, just wing it with the recipe. Approximately 3 tsp powdered hibiscus in a cup of boiling water.
Ooh sounds pretty! I've used beet powder for a deep pink too :)
Oo I never thought of using powdered hibiscus or beetroots. That’s a great idea
Wow Natasha, you never cease to amaze me with the ideas you have. And everything is for helping people find out what and how they can use materials and products they already have. Thank you for that. You're definitely a very inspiring young lady. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Exactly!! ... from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
Yes!!!… amazing💖
WOW NATASA you are the most amazing crafter!!!💖
Absolutely love the red Berry tea! I made some yesterday and used a soft large head art brush and achieved the most amazing patterns. You have to be quick applying it but if you do it slowly you get brilliant effects especially if you go back over it. I made a tartan type design and a swirl and they look brilliant!
OMGOSH!! This tutor is AWESOME!! I'm going to be in the kitchen playing with natural inks. It's truly inspiring, the way you show us how to do beautiful "work" for such a small investment of money and time! Bless you and thank you for all of the time you spend on these videos to teach us! You ROCK Natasa!! 😊
Wow !! I appreciate you taking the time for having filmed the process of this Natasa . I know its alot of work to film and then edit . Truly turned out beautifully and love how gorgeous your results for these came out . Tfs ! Hugs and blessings 😘❤ have a great weekend!
Aw Thank you so much 😊 It took ages and over 2 hours of footage to edit 🥴
@@TreasureBooks I believe it !!!
Wow !!! That Is alot 😓😖 goodness . We definitely are so very appreciative for you teaching us your wonderful process for making all of these cuties !!🙏🏽🥰
Fun! Thank you for posting this! This has to be one of my favorite journaling videos ever.😊
Great idea thinking about trying this
Yay, thank you!
I want a sequel! Being obsessed with organizers I’d love to see production of a journal (catalogue) or a decorated box for keeping these labeled swatches & solution recipes. And an organizer for freezer (with labeled ice cube trays perhaps). I loved it all. And the lace imprints, wow such a multitasking going on here. Straining through cheese cloth will produce a bonus coloured piece for projects as well. How cool!
And think if you used a piece for lace on top of the cheese cloth,,,, hmmmm
I second the organization tour and let’s craft some storage boxes for all these fabulous components. This channel is amazing ❤
Yes let's not waste wine 🍷
Thank you for sharing, always a joy watching you. Bless
I've clicked on "thumbs up" but I wish I could give you 10 thumbs up!!! Super inspirational. YES I will try this.
Your creativity and artistry are phenomenal. You motivate me and empower me to create my own work. Thank you so much for sharing your beauty with the world.
Your videos are chockful of creative ideas! Your generosity is overwhelming! Thank You so much! 🌺🏵💮🌸🍷
Many many thanks!
I love drinking turmeric and ginger tea. When I drink it I save the tea bags and use them in my art journal, or I sometimes make extra tea and use that to stain my papers - it looks really beautiful with coffee stains and I even use the Tim Holtz spray stains (my favourite is aged mahogany); it’s just so beautiful *chefs kiss*. I also really enjoy drinking rose hip and hibiscus tea. It’s a really pretty dark pink colour but when it dries, it becomes a really gorgeous pale violet colour. I’ve been thinking about trying berries, beets, spinach. Nicola Brown has a CZcams channel about eco dying worth checking into if that’s of interest to anyone.
Your grouping would make a more than marvelous gift - really lovely. This was a superior video, very interesting and different. Thank you.
Thank you so much 😊
I tried the onion skins, dandelion flowers and leaves, butterfly flowers, coffee, and an assortment of black and herbal teas. I love the way the onion skins come out. Since I don't have access to the multitude of onion skins I would need, I decided to try to mimic the colors with watercolor paints. It worked beautifully. Thanks for your great ideas.
I get onion skins from the grocery store. Make friends with your local store’s produce person and they will let you gather the skins from the onion display! Also less than beautiful and older veggies like beets, red cabbage etc.
I appreciate you writing your instructions for viewing. It helps with remember the process.
I love love love the blue from the cabbage, it looks periwinkle blue, just beautiful
Wow! That red to blackish color shift is amazing! 😍❤️
I love this. So much fun experimenting with natural & surprising colours.
Lots of red/ purple fruits & vegetables will make a solution that will act like a universal indicator, and go either pinkish or bluish, depending on the acidic or alkaline qualities they're exposed to.
I love these easy ideas for making natural inks and dying different materials and papers. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for inspiring me, I love the shades of blue! Who would have thought it came from red cabbage
I made this kind of stuff years ago after inspiration from wool dying videos. There are sooooo many fantastic things to use for dying and boiling helps with making the dye last longer and also more pigment coming out of the plants or what you use for the dye. And there are sooo much fun! Also, don't forget soot from campfires or if you have a fireplace. then you can use it like you can use things like eyeshadow and so on and put it on with a makeup sponge or something. So many fun things to use! :)
I love all the things you do with your crafting projects and have done some. I happened to have some purple cabbage juice in my freezer and will try this. Oh suggestion, maybe dye the string on the swatches too. Thank you so much for sharing 😘
How fun, Natasa! Very creative and inspiring. Again. 😊
I especially love the embossed paper and lace. ❤
Thank you!!!
So excited to watch this tutorial. I can’t even imagine that the cranberry pomegranate turned into that gorgeous blue.
Now off to the store to find this tea.
Thank you! Cheers!
See my post about the tea! Its tge best ive found by far. You can get some fabulous patterns and designs
Oh and i put the used bags in my ninja to dehydrate for a couple of hours then use the red tea leaves and torn red coloured teabag to make the handmade looking paper that natasha did in one of her videos
I’ve never been more eager to get in the kitchen 😁
Can’t wait to try this out
LOVE this project! Thank you for sharing your process. Seeing the color changes with drying time and materials was fabulous. 💓
Love the demonstration of different types of things you can use to stain, dye or ink with...😻
This is so fascinating! I love how they dry, they look completely different. Wow you have my brain working overtime with ideas. Thank you ❤
Wow!! So much fun! I love how you got such different results from the same colors just using different materials. Lovely ❤
Love it! Such a great idea... inexpensive and non-toxic!!!! Love the colors!
Tip for preservation from the Old Masters of art - add 3 drops of lavender oil to the mixture. Lavender is a natural preservative. The Old Masters used a drop of lavender oil to help keep oil paints soft longer, and there is a specific purified oil called Oil of Spike Lavender for that purpose. I used regular lavender essential oil. The amount is so small that it doesn't affect the paper. I like the freezing idea as well.
Love this, didn't watch because I assumed this was about making inks from purchased powders, natural dyeing is more accurate. My most successful dye was the pulp I had remaining after making grape juice. Layered papers with water and pulp and let them dry. The paper is crumpled and a glorious purple (red/black grapes) then I composted the pulp and made grape jelly with the juice. I have sprinkled turmeric on wet paper and used tea bags with turmeric too. Will have to try your other recipes.
This video made me smile so many times. I just love the way you show things. Makes me want to try it myself.
Yellow is my favorite color. I'm so going to try the Turmeric, Coffee and Tea. The little swatch packets at the end are so cool. You could make these and include a recipe card with the dry ingredients, all but the red cabbage, of course.
They would make a cute gift for your fellow paper crafting friends.
Love your videos!
Try black beans for a beautiful blue hue! Great ideas for natural dyeing! Thank you for sharing your process!❤😊
I never knew that there is so many ways to make a dye. I have done coffee and avocado but that is it. I am going to try your ideas; you have a fantastic imaginative mind on creating. Love it. So many ideas. Thank you for sharing and God Bless.
I cooked beets and used the juice from the beads and it made a very pretty pink color close to the color of your avocado dying. I used it over and over after the paper dried and redid it again, and it just came out really pretty.
So beautiful the cabbage is so stunning 😍 But all of them are so gorgeous 💖 I have used blue pea flower tea for dying. So much fun
Hi Natasa. The anthocyanins in the red cabbage and cranberries are what produces the bluish tones. When I ecoprint with cotinus and other reddish leaves, they will also print blue/purple. Science is amazing- even in art.
Absolutely love this idea. Prepping my kitchen as we speak!
Oh Natasha hello first, this was so much fun. I had no idea we could use so many spices. I love your ideas here. So much fun. Thank you
Amazing tutorial I love how the embossing paper turned out, I have some Turmeric tea I wonder that would give a different stain. must try.
Love your sample charts it is good to have a book dedicated to these things after all you are an artist & artist keep swatches. Thank you Natasha for this amazing lesson.
💗❣
I love how natural dye colors always look beautiful together! No matter what their colors
I had some old/stale hibiscus tea and steeped it. Then I dyed some paper and some assorted fabrics. Most of the paper turned blue (not all) and the fabric was pink. Some was startling bright pink so I rinsed some with water and got a very pretty pale pink. Even some of the fabric turned a little bit blue as it dried. Thanks for showing more choices!
You are amazing! Thanks for always taking us along for your great ideas!!
This is so amazing. I was just wanting to have some colored lace as mine was all white. I am so excited to try this. Thank you so much for your ingenious ideas
I'm running off to the Kitchen right now to make me some inks! I'm loving this so much and such beautiful things you created using your inks!
Wow! This is exciting for sure!
I think you have the most outstanding creative minds. That red cabbage powder blue colour is just so unexpected and gorgeous. TFS!!
Thank you so much!
Wow, as always, you amaze me! Great ideas, can't wait to try it myself!

Oh I love all these and I have everything I need! Thanks Natasha this is fun!
This project looks amazing and I can’t wait to try this using other spices and “things” from my cupboard and fridge! Like beets! Thank you for another wonderful idea to make journaling even more fun! 💜
Beets are another great idea!! 👍🏼
Yes!
I have used beet juice to dye papers. They turn out great!
Thank you so much :)
Beets are great! My friends now save me their coloured waters from foods 😅
I enjoy watching you use natural products in place of premade store products for your crafting. No printing digitals and just using what you have.
wow! best natural dye video I have seen and perfect for colouring journal bits. thank you for sharing your experiments.
Love, love this. So beautiful. Thx so much for sharing
You are amazing! Love love this video! How creative thank you I’m so inspired!
I am inspired to make these dyes and try some others. Thanks!!!
Love watching your videos. Always have such great ideas that you share with us. This video is definitely a favourite.
Absolutely love them all!!!🥰🥰
I love this! I take the scraps from my journal adventures and make new paper from them, these dyes would work so well for my handmade recycled papers. These dyes will be fun to experiment with, and fit with the sustainable studio ideal that I follow.
What a great idea! I can't wait to try making some inks. Thank you! 😊 ❤️

Oh my wow, love this, specially liked the embossed paper, turned out so amazing, thank you very much, definitely going to try this ❤️🇨🇦
OMG, absolutely fantastic, I am onto this asap! You are amazing Natasha, thank you 🇳🇿😀
What I love with the red cabbage is that the colour changes depending on the paper you are using. It works like litmus paper. So you can experiment with different book pages and ages of paper.
Especially beautiful color from the paprika 😃
❣💯 I think this is the most awesome dyeing experiment I have ever seen!! Wow! Just wow! And your ideas are endless, and you definitely have an eye for layout and design. Love, love, love!!
Love love love these ideas. I used powdered tshirt fabric dye and they made beautiful dyed papers. Thinking freezing the colors in ice cube trays and the just letting the ice cubes melt on paper or fabric would make great designs.
Loved the lace prints on the paper , and the way the all of the experiments turned out. I have used turmeric in eco dyeing and it turns out great.
Wonderful video, full of amazing ideas!
Love all of your ideas!

I absolutely love this video!! Great way to get color without buying dyes and inks!! Cutting apart that tablecloth was brilliant....going now to get a few of mine that I no longer can use.
Wow! 🥰 I love this video so much!♥What's so great about this is most of the items I have on hand and do not need to go out and purchase anything. I'm sure I have other things in my cupboard that would work nicely as a natural ink, too. Thank you, Natasa. You and your channel have blessed me tremendously! ♥
