FILM DESCRIPTION:
In the third of the "Mad Max" movies, Max (Mel Gibson) drifts into an evil town ruled by Turner. There he becomes a gladiator and gets dumped in the desert where he is rescued by a band of feral orphans who have been looking for help for years. When several of them take his appearance as a sign and go off into the desert, he follows them back to the town.

There was a fascinating backstory here between Auntie and Master and this movie was smart enough to only just hint at it. "Enough about history" as Auntie said, show us some terrific character scenes that also develop the world building and leave it to the audience to fill in with their own imagination. All the Mad Max movies do this to their characters and it generates the illusion that the actors and sets are more than just a facade but are only the edge of a greater fictional world.
what was the backstory
For some reason I always got the feeling like maybe she was just a peon, like a secretary or something like that. But then once the whole apocalypse came, and she was one of the survivors, she was able to rise above her rank in life and actually become a queen

I love it. I think it should have been two movies, but it’s still good.
It was always a classic.
As a very small rather deformed but intelligent child growing in up in impoverished Pantarashu Province India, seeing Master inspired me to stand up for myself and no longer allow the other children to take the food or goods that my genius had secured us.

How did you stop them?
This was the most painful moment for Aunty (Tina Turner) in the film, She knows it is the intelligence, chemical, electrical, and engineering skills of Master that help barter town run its operations. She knows that Master is way too important, however sadly, Master is using Blaster to push Master Authority way too far even to step on Auntys past in this scene.....it was both Master and Aunty that created barter town....
No it's the people with vizzzzion that make things happen in this world. MasterBlaster has no vision.

Hilariously though they choose some semi-Rube Goldberg method to do away with Blaster. Why they simply did not kill Blaster is beyond me, they did not need Max for that regardless of what Auntie said. No one cares in such a situation, just keep this lights on and the place moving.

The whole movie is one of my favorites. Best Mad Max film.
Some sort of exchange between Max and Master would've gone a long way to meld the two halves of the movie together. "Thank you for rescuing me." "Sorry about Blaster." "You didn't kill him." Instead, Master doesn't even talk in the second half. Like they tried to make the halves as disparate as possible.
It was fine. The rescue was quick. You don't need to overthink it.
Tina Turner's face at 1:19 is priceless. :D

When I become a parent and if my kid decides to choose to play video games or watch something rather than listening to me, I'll shut off the main circuit breaker, and ask them who runs Barter Town. When they grow up hopefully the understand.. that is, if the power ever comes back on for them to watch.

It was an unbalanced power system, having one who controls the power and the other who controls the people eventually one would want complete power over the other, Master knew he had absolute control over Bartertown, he just wanted her to admit it to stroke his ego, up until this last Embargo pushed her to hire Max to kill Blaster, Master had her eating out of the palm of his hand.
