    Everyone discovers their own writing method that works for them. For me, I have to write in spurts. I'm visual and ADHD so it really helped to map out a graphic organizer of my book with the plot outline and character arc (attached to important turning points in the plot). This allowed me to stay on track with the story, develop a much stronger and more fun and interesting middle, and tie the ending to themes throughout the book in ways I hadn't seen before. That was the turning point where it felt like the story went to the next level and I could write a lot more scenes I enjoyed writing with the exciting new destination I'd discovered in mind. That said, I also encourage breaks when needed to avoid burnout. Creativity requires a certain mindset and for some of us, our best work comes after we do other things and let the story simmer in our minds. It's a balance, so always listen to what your mind and body need and respond to that so it doesn't lead to burnout, creatively or physically.

    Great to see an example of ‘atomic habits’ in practice.

    I love how structured your steps are and how much sense this makes as I keep writing chunks. I don't know if I will ever be able to edit them all together... BUT I do 5min writing - because for the most part i can't do more. My book is going to reflect the fact that I cannot execute all of your other ideas at this point, as I am unfree to do so. But thank you! :)

    Consistency and making a habit is key with any big task. Just eat this elephant one piece at a time.
    Also - I can't thank you enough for actually thumbnailing this video "I wish I had known..." instead of "I wish I knew..." just like most YT content creators do, even though they mean the former.❤

    Hi! Lovely. I have a question: do you have a recommendation for a platform that cloaks or hides the dates of when a blog post is published? For something to truly feel Evergreen to me there must be a sense of continuity even if I’m not consistent with my blog post uploads and only post when inspiration strikes as a hobby. I would just really prefer to not have the dates Public, so I was wondering if you had a recommendation for a platform that caters to that need.

      I wish you luck in your writing and in doing what you're trying to accomplish. I share a similar approach to my CZcams channel. Unfortunately, CZcams itself is not a great platform for "evergreen" work creators. Instead, it favors channels who release new videos frequently and consistently.
      I always envy the Abraham Hicks channels that can just slap a new title and thumbnail on an old video and upload it as something new and get easy clicks. Those of us who want to create something inspired, original, and of lasting quality do not feed the YT engine and appetite with enough grist for the mill. Anyway, good luck to you!

      At my old job, we used both publishing and last updated to show that evergreen posts kept getting updated with new relevant information. I liked this approach since it worked well with the best practices of SEO and showed the readers all the facts.

    RE: fulfilling your habit of writing every day leading to other good habits. The rabbis refer to something like this with the statement that "the fulfillment of one commandment pulls one to fulfill the next.

    It sounds like writing every day basically provided you with a structure of discipline in order to become an author.
    I never wrote every day when I worked as a freelance writer for 20 plus years
    But in one of my writing seminars called the Basics that I have given a couple of times ,
    Discipline is one of three rules of writing I have emphasized .

    • @NatalieForslind
      @NatalieForslind  Před měsícem

      Yeah that is what I did. That sounds like a really interesting seminar.

      @NatalieForslind
      It's a seminar meant for beginning writers and anyone thinking of becoming a writer.
      Its three rules of writing or really building blocks of writing that anyone needs to know.
      I haven't done a seminar in a long time I guess because of the pandemic a n d everything.
      Maybe one of these days.

    I have written every day of my life since I was very young. That someone sees it as a worthwhile challenge is very strange to me. I see it as a bad, time consuming habit. It is effortless to me. It feels like scratching an itch.
