I expected something much more hideous, not that I would punish my wrist with this, but I have seen much worse visually from a brand starting with "In" and ending on "a". The wobbly stem and non-hacking 8215 are worse IMO than the design choices here.
So the reason I tend to say GA2100 instead of "Casioak" is that I think the G-Shocks look nicer than the APs. Or the Ali Express knockoffs of APs. To each their own, I guess.

I quite like the way it looks, I modded a Casioak to look like an orange and black AP Royal Oak.
I've never really liked the Royal Oak models, Richard Mille or Hublot.

Correct. The offshore wasn’t his design, it was following the Royal Oak design but he was appalled by it. However, there are plenty of agents designs that are indeed really ugly (to me) he made some hideous designs back in the days too. Some were genius though.
Its not all bad Jody - I like that they got the screws in the crown aligned correctly to the circumference!! I wonder also if it was AP that got it removed from the interweb
AP doesn't really lose customers to this athrocity.
I do enjoy my original Starking though. A few years in and still running strong!!

Honestly, while the color doesn't work for me, the look of the watch isn't terrible. But the overall craftsmanship looks like if faceplanted. Not even hacking? And that stem wobble is ridiculous.
Apparently Gerald Genta hated the offshore 🤷♂️, probably would love this though

Genta hated the Offshore, and he didn´t design it either.

No uglier than the AP, but at a much lower price point. There'd be a place for this if they get rid of the "Original Design" on the back. Some people like big watches. Def not my style. But when you revealed it, i was not disgusted. 🤷🏼♂
AP aside pretty sure it shares something with another modern iCon... the steel bezel looks skewed to me just like on the Spaghetti Scametti...
And yet, after the build up I had expected something far far worse on first impression. Quite possibly unsurprisng considering what it is approximating a copy of.
Starking released 1 high beat watch (which didn’t work in most watches) and then pretty much everything that they’ve released since has reverted back to the miyota 8 series, and the old one at that. Some one must have motor-boated over from China to Japan and back in the dead of night and whilst in Japan gone through all of Miyota’s wheelie bins…
Put an Invicta Logo on it and toss it on their site with the crazy over the top styles they make, and it would look pretty normal....

I love a good roast. I bought the Starking you reviewed years ago. One of my very early Ali buys. I really liked the watch. The jn-house movement died, I think about 6 months later. I have steered clear of Starking since. Looks like I made the right choice. Ali duds are part of the whole budget collecting experience. LOL. The Starking carcass sits in the plastic bag of shame. For some reason I don’t throw dead watches away.
Even Genta hated what AP did with the design later on.
I hate it, I DONT want it.... Will never understand how companies who have money design crap and then are people out here who know what needs to be done who would die to have that opportunity, crazy world.

That offshore is hideous. I really only like the look of the basic, smaller Royal Oak models.
Its actually not too bad. Theres a market for affordable divers with internal bezels. Sand gets into standard bezels and causes problems

Ok, it’s one for bigger lads, but it doesn’t look much worse than an actual Offshore Royal Oak and at least doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Everybody and their dog now has very fond memories of the SKX, fitted with a 7S26 movement with crappy precision. How does this Miyota movement compare with the entry level Seiko ?
I believe a torture test in the future would be more fun than a giveaway, I never win those things, but I would enjoy a Spencer Crane type torture test 😀
Looks like Invicta made a Royal Oak homage, and then Starking make an homage to that.
I’m not a Royal Oak guy in general. I don’t like yellow. That said, that’s not the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen. It’s not pretending to be Swiss… so the worst thing I can say is that I wouldn’t wear it but, if my hommies wanted to, I wouldn’t hate on them.
Gerald Genta hated this Offshore design. He designed the original Royal Oak jumbo. Not this monstrosity of the Offshore.

Uh.. I like it. Yellow is my all time favourite colour and it's not ugly at all.

Hey now, technically the Offshore was designed by Emmanuel Gueit… and Genta hated it.
It's bloody awful, I wouldn't give it house room - having said that I do have several conventional Starkings with Miyota auto motors which are superb - I reckon you couldn't get the kids to wear this abomination.

It's a limited edition now and impossible to get. It's going to be worth a ton. I want it now.

I love it but wouldn’t buy one. I bought the high beat auto with white dial. It’s still going strong, reasonably accurate and only cost me about £20.

For Invicta standards that's a somber, small, and classy watch.
I don't mind the vibrant yellow but have smaller wrists than you and those inner bezels never really did it for me. You have to wonder how many they made?

This sort of design makes me think that they have shares in metals production, with a little tiny watchface in the middle of enormmous case and thick, non-functional bezel, almost like the designer went "Oops, almost forgot it's supposed to be a wristwatch."
