I was obsessed with this film for years when I was a kid. Even had that gorgeous movie adaptation graphic novel. I hope I can find it in storage somewhere because otherwise I gotta buy it again!
The Rocketeer is my all time favorite superhero!! I use to pretend my school back pack was his jet pack and I would imagine myself flying around.
Not that many people I know remember him though, they always tell me "Iron Man is better" and stuff like that.
If I ever get the money I'm buying a full replica Rocketeer Costume!
A little tid bit about the movie Rocketeer.
Our friends down from our hanger at California City Airport built the Spruce Goose model. During filming they show the Spruce Goose leave the railing and fly. It wasn't supposed to happen. It wasn't in the script. But, yes it really happened.
Also, when Howard Hughes says The damn thing does fly. That line wasn't in the script either.
I really enjoyed this movie as a kid. It was extra special because some of it was filmed near wear I lived as a child in Santa Maria CA. In fact one of the prop buildings (the gambrel roofed hanger building with the brick columns) now lives up the road from where I live now. I pass it daily.
I watched this movie again a few months ago and it holds up fairly well. Thanks for showing it some love.
Now I have to go re-watch The Rocketeer, it's been too long!
I love Cliff Secord aka Rocketeer movie it's so awesome the year which the movie was placed was around 1938 plus it was directed by Joey Johnson who directed Honey I Shrunk the Kids 1 but would later direct Jumanji in 1995 but then Captain America First Avenger in 2011 but set 4 years later after Rocketeer in the year 1942 with Steve until the end of World War 2 in 1945.
I never knew that Doc Savage was the inventor of the jetpack. 😮
Billy Campbell is Bruce Campbell's brother? Yeah, I should have known that a long time ago.
How have I never seen this?!?
That's so cool that The Rocketeer team-up with The Shadow. Wish they did more crossovers with characters of that era.
Love, love, LOVE the Rocketeer. Really hope they make the relaunch and we get to see more of Cliff's adventures. Thank you for making this - there were a bunch of little things in there I did NOT know!
A suggestion that might be fun…. Watch The Rocketeer with the colour adjustments to make it look black and white. They filmed the movie as if it was from the same era, and it kinda feels like it…
…
Damn man this production value made me think this is one of the big channels or something like that good job dude
Thanks!! Be sure to check out our other videos as well. Everything helps our channel grow!
very sweet me and my buds always thought the rocketeer was a pretty sweet movie.
Keep making videos with such detail and research and I will keep subscribed.
I left an idea in your channel comments about Chris Claremont and Jim Lees Xmen and the drama around it.
Great video, I was interested but knew very little about the character and this was a nice way to get a first idea
Glad you enjoyed it! Absolutely check out the movie. It's a classic. Definitely has some effects that haven't aged well, but the movie holds up!
Bill and Bruce are not related whatsoever.
So I just got a Rocketeer 3D print helmet download like 5 minutes before I watch this video
Watched the movie many times!! Utterly awesome film!!
Explain Darkhawk
Explain Comics Version Elektra
The movie was pretty good
I liked the film version, BUT it did have it's faults.
the sfx were hit & miss inconsistent, they seemed to give the jet pack far too much power & speed, to be believable, also the...Golem/Jaws from SPY WHO LOVED ME character felt unecessary, with VERY rubbery makeup from the usually great Rick Baker.
but on the plus side- very good costume design, beautiful cinematography, sets (especially the night club) also impressive stunts
The movie reminded me of a game called dark void a 360 Xbox game
I see nothing to confirm that Bruce Campbell and Billy Campbell are related. Bruce Campbell's Wikipedia page indicate he has an older brother (Don) and an older half-brother (Michael Rendine). No indication on his WIkipedia page or on Billy Campbell's Wikipedia page of any relation.
When are you going to bring back "X-Men" video...???!...
Very Soon. We will be re-launching a ton of old content alongside brand new content in the near future as we push forward with this new channel.
@@totalnerd7410 - OH I forgot something, I understand you showed the "Orchis" in the retcon 'X-Men' video???! But you said ''Osiris'' instead, can you please fix that...???!
top button but no tie -_-
I like the rocketeer but the movie is better because when I found out about the comic it was inappropriate for me so yeah I like the movie better
The image transition sound effect gets really old and really annoying really soon.
Aaahhmmm Billy and Bruce are not related only by the fact that share the last name
The constant swipe noise sound effect makes this video almost unwatchable for me. I mean, Jesus, guys! Everything in moderation, yeah?!
I love the Rocketeer in spite of this video, no because of this video. Incell woke nerds need not tell me what to like.
I HATE THE LAME MOVIE
This guy loves his face too much. We don't watch history movies to spend most of the screen time watching some dude talk in front of a green screen. No subscribe. Try to be a bit more professional like weird history
