The film won three awards at the 66th National Film Awards 2019, namely, Best Feature Film in Telugu, Best Actress for Keerthy and Best Costume Design. The film won four Filmfare Awards South, three South Indian International Movie Awards, and ten Zee Cine Awards Telugu. Keerthy received several nominations for her performance with wins including the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Telugu and the SIIMA Award for Best Actress - Telugu. Mahanati was screened at the International Film Festival of India, the Shanghai International Film Festival, and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
I am from Punjab. I have already watched this movie in Telugu with Subtitles. It’s gud to see u have dubbed this movie in Hindi also but from last two years I always prefer to watch every Telugu movie in original language with subtitles coz it gives me real feel & essence of that Movie.♥️👌Naaku keerthy Suresh mam ante Chala ishtam♥️ she really deserved the National Award for this brilliant performance.👏👏👌👌Overall a Perfect Biopic I have seen in recent times.👍Kudos to Nag Ashwin sir for making such a masterpiece🙏♥️
@giridhar kartik bro I didn’t say keerthy Suresh surpasses the Savitri Amma. I know no one can match Savitri Mam as she was a legendary actress. I just praised the direction and overall making of the Movie. Plus Keerthy Suresh deserved this National Award for sure as he gave her 100%. We don’t discuss Nepotism here. If Nepotism really helps to get National Awards then every star kid takes dozens of National Awards in their kitty…

Rekha's Mother was an ex-wife of Mr. Gemini Ganesan. He married Savitri after Rekha's Mother Sri Valli(2nd wife) got separated from Gemini Ganesan.

@@promitapal9609 No. That lady was Alimelu she is the cousin of Gemini Cousin whom he married and was her first wife although out his life but Pushpavalli wasn't accepted as his Wife and remained as his mistress until they got separated in 1955 but by then Rekha was born. He didn't accept Pushpavalli as his wife coz Pushpavalli was already married to Rangachari a lawyer from Andhra Pradesh by that time and they were not divorced.(India didn't have a law until 1955 for Divorce in Hindus). So it would have been illegal if he had accepted Pushpavalli as his wife so she remained as his mistress. If u want to see Pushpavalli(playing Bhulakshmi devi Character) and Savitri(playing Mohini Character) watch Madhu Bala's Bahut din huwe(1954) movie. U could see all the three actresses in the same movie.

@@promitapal9609 I was mentioning back then there wasn't any law to prohibit us(Hindus) to practice polygamy although it was done mostly in noble families but not in the common society. Yeah, u can call it male chauvinism. It all changed after the Hindu Marriage Act. Marrying cousins were/are common in South Indian communities although now many communities are doing away with it coz of genetic Problems still it is practiced in the South in order to have wealth in the family itself rather than going it to others. U can see many South Movies where the protagonist and his love interest are cousins. I assume that u are a Bengali so it does shock u.
PS: If u watch the Maya Bazar Telugu movie u can see Sandhya Rani, mother of Late Jaya Lalitha (Actress and Ex-CM of Tamilnadu as well in the character of Rukmini beside NTR who plays Krishna's Character.)

Friends I feel Gemini ganesan had not cheated savitri garu becoz before marriage itself he told his life history from childhood to present including his marriage with alimelu and affair with pushpavalli and also regarding his children.If he wanted to cheat savitri then he would have not said the truth regarding his life he also told his weakness i.e: being a womanizer and agree to this point also that Gemini has not loved any of his wife and hadbeen loyal to his wife.
One thing is clear from this movie that mens are not trustworthy. All of this happened because of her disloyal husband.
