- Vatic was one of the first trailblazers in the Pickleball space offering high performing paddles at affordable prices. While their paddles are not perfect they are very good and more than enough for the budding enthusiast to hardcore weekend warrior. I quickly go over their paddle lineup in this video and do my best to explain their differences so you can pick the right one for you.

I cannot explain logically why, but when you get used to the poppiness of the 14mm pro flash you feel almost unstoppable. The power and spin is great and the weight on the paddle is so low that hand battles are a breeze. One of my favorites for sure but does take soft hands!
great run down! thank you!
I love this. Great review man. I just ordered the prism flash
At 67 years old I've played tennis, ping pong and raquetball in the past, I started out in pickleball with the Prism Flash and love it! The control it gives me is amazing and was just what i was looking for, I will stay with Vatic when I upgrade to my next paddle. Thank you for you input it was very informative.
I personally love the Vatic Pro paddles, haven't used the Alchemy though, but the V7 is amazing! Use it in singles and in doubles and it is great, and also for the price!
prism v7 was one of the better paddles i purchased when starting out (for context, i purchased the ben johns hyperion and i liked the vatic more). I played with it stock for like 2 months and it felt ok but something felt "missing." I then started to mess around with lead tape at 9 and 3 oclock...and OH MAN. it has changed SO MUCH. Became one of my favorites in no time. Used it for a while until i found out about sixzero double black diamond lol. But vatic is definitely on the best budget high performing paddles out there
I agree totally ! I think the Double Black Diamond is the best paddle out in Pickleball land … and I also have Vactic nice paddle, but not BDD
I use the Vatic Pro V7 and enjoy it a lot. Also, Nezuko playing Pickleball on your shirt is pretty dope lol
I think it's best to have two or three Paddles in the bag. 16mm PRISM flash for when the ball is going out (cold day, higher altitude, fast ball, fast gameplay, wind at back) and a 14mm Thermoformed Flash for when the ball is falling short (hot day, dead ball, hitting into the wind, high humidity, low elevation). You can get both for the same cost as these newer more expensive paddles. Also, the PRISM is cheaper to replace so it's possible to replace it when the spin drops off as the paddle wears out. So this system would be the cheapest total cost of ownership and give more flexibility to the player to adjust to circumstances. When drilling use old Paddles, when competing use new Paddles with fresh grit.
looking forward to a review of the LH V7 Prism...
New GRÜVN MUVN 16 H and how it compares to rest of the MUVN line. Thank you, Will!
Santa is bringing me a Prism Flash 16mm. Can't wait! I strongly prefer control paddles with low swingweight and high twist weight for hands battles. I can generate more than enough other but need all the help I can get keeping it in. 😮 My current daily driver is a Hudef Apex 16mm after failing with multiple Gen2 paddles.
Great video. Very informative. Would love to see a Vulcan video. I don’t find much about them.
I have the Vatic Pro Flash 16mm. I do think my game improved since I had it for a few months but I think i still not maximise the potential yet. It does get better control from what I feel.
Vatic is a great company and I own a few of their paddles, but i wish they made a product line between the Pro and Prism series, similar to what Ronbus did with the Nova line
Prism and Prism Flash are great paddles!
My guess is he is going to do Ronbus next....great video Pickleball Will
love my Vatic 14 mm flash light but powerful
Great review! I would like to know if you would consider the 14 mil prism a control paddle? I have the legacy pro and pros. I'd consider them a power paddle, and I'm looking for something with more control. Would love to know if you think i would notice a difference even in the 14 mil.
Been using prism flash 16mm for quite a while. I like the control it has for my prefer style of dropping and dinking. It does lack power though. ordered DBD infinity when it first came out but decided to cancel and went with prism flash 14mm. No regrets
how to choose between prism flash 14mm vs 16mm ?
Same question. For a beginner/low intermediate player, how “different” is Prism Flash 16mm vs 14mm? Do you recommend 16mm for beginner?
@@darrinuhl8103 yes I personally would start with the 16mm if you are a beginner or intermediate. The 14mm may be more poppy if you don’t have the control and touch dialed in. The 16mm is a solid paddle and I really think you can grow with this paddle for a while before you need to upgrade to something else. And if you’re lacking power with the 16mm, you can add lead tape.
Are lead weights typically used on the 14mm?
@@darrinuhl8103 I really don't know. I think it depends on the person if they are able to adequately generate power on their own. Remember lead weight can also be added to balance out the swing weight or to create an overall bigger sweet spot for the paddle.
Great review. I am leaning to the VAtic Prism Flash 14mm but am also considering the SLJK Halo 14mm. What are the differences and which is better for an intermediate and current top club tennis player.
Ive been telling all my friends who wanna get more into pickleball about Vatic paddles!
My man on the wheels of steel! Knom Nation 🙌
Coming from the Hyperion as my go to that I won a nationals singles title last yr, I now prefer to play singles with the V7 Prism 16mm & the Prism Flash 16mm for dubs. Both forgiving around the NVZ with very lil pop cuz it's not thermoformed. Both still have some decent power. If someone feels the Prisms don't have enough power, hit the gym, girls. I'm now curious of each in 14mm. I've also played with A LOT of different pricy paddles, & Vatic is my new go to. Thx Vatic 😁
Any experience adding weighted tape to 16mm or 14mm Prism Flash paddles? Does that add more pop/power?
I did at a lil weight at the throat.
It did make it a bit more stable on blocks
Love for you to do Ronbus
It's actually in the editing room
Please do a selkirk labs line up!
Thanks Will. Had the Flash 16mm but sold it. Waiting on the upcoming 6.0 line of concepts/proto types that I heard are coming. Alchemy for sure is "ugly"
How likely is it for the thermoformed Flash 16mm to delaminate in less than 6 months based on regular playing and good care?
how do you compare the pro flash 14 mm and the dbd 14 mm? which is better?
i just refuse to pay more than a hundred dollars for a paddle. so i got the Prism. it's great. it lacks power, but my drops became a lot better
Watching these is like when you buy 10 chicken nuggets and open the box to find 11.
No bias- Vatic Pro is S TIER 😃
Have question: Do I go for the long handle or short handle for the PRISM V7? Just watched your video and I’m sold. Gonna buy Prism V7 for myself and Prism Flash for my wife.
Short handle unless you think you really really need the 2 hands for the backhand but I use a 2 handed backhand and honestly don’t have any issues with the shorter handle
I am excited to learn to play pickleball and looking at paddles. Want one for beginner but can move with me as intermediate level and a paddle that is not basic that may not give me best experience of starting out. Suggestions from anyone please.😊
@susanscandles : The Vatic Prism V7 with a discount code is probably THE BEST value paddle in terms of performance for the dollar and will allow you to grow your game will into your advanced play time... you'll probably wear the paddle out before then... I LOVE mine, controlled power, spin & control out the wazoo and a good looking paddle on top of all that... like Will said - these are EASY to recommend, at under $100...
What makes V7 “better” than Prism Flash? Just the El gated design?
@@darrinuhl8103 I own both, and find the V7 shape to provide a more generous sweet-spot and better "plow-through" on off-center hits.... YMMV, however...
Pro Flash 14mm all day! It honestly feels so plush for a thermo 14mm paddle, it's my hands down go-to for doubles.
Is 14mm less forgiving in the control game than 16mm? And is 14mm less forgiving on the joints?
We need an Onix video
What do you think of the Legacy Pro Air
Very good paddle from the little time I got to try it from some friends of mine who own it
I believe the Alchemy is the tennis version of Roger Federer's Wilson Prostaff.
All Vatic needs to do now, is make standard shapes, and do their version of a “Nova”
2024 Pickleball Company Resolutions: Naming conventions that don't SUCK
Thats a tall order to ask from them haha
Agreed. The naming conventions suck. It’s like no thought went into planning the lines. So confusing.
My man hating on the DreamWorks Animation paddle
Spencer Smith's logo is actually kinda cool I will admit
Selkirks cut out is way worse
Nice but core crush in one month guaranteed. happened on over 4 paddles for me, and 3 for a friend. And I'm not a hard hitter
Not necessarily. I am a hard hitter and I delamed a CRBN 1X 14mm in a month. This Vatic Pro Flash 14mm is still cooking after 3ish months, love this paddle honestly. Probably will replace it for grit wear before it ever core crushes.
well the v7 16mm specifically I have alot of data showing it has lol others not sure@@Jadrianson
