Brother. I love you. From a former Vietnamese gang in Orange county back in the 2000s. There are shoot out almost every week, mostly among ourselves. My brother got shot in the butt my cousin got shot through the stomach and lived, but my younger cousin sitting in the front passenger seat and got multiple shots through the neck and body. I tried to stop the bleeding from his neck and couldn't. Make the story short. My best friend at the time, an og., got time for life, for a shooting. So I took off and joined the military. In hind sight. If I were to stay back. I don't think I would be here today. And I found Jesus in the process. So thank you for your message.
I heard your story on SWU, and it brought me to tears, my whole life, I've always thought because I was kind and understanding,empathetic and wanted to help animals and the hurt people in the world, that I was ok, but my dad was killed by a drunk driver when I was ten and I suffered head trauma and had to learn to walk again, ever since then I've been different, impulsive, irrational, I've lost so many friends to drugs and suicide. Last month I lost a friend I've had since I was four to a heart attack, my best friend committed suicide when I was 19, and last year my older sister committed suicide with fentanyl. It was always my mom my sister and me, no other family, now my mom keeps saying she's gonna kill herself because my sister had problems and always lived with her and was on rugs because she was so lonely and felt like such a loser, and you got me thinking, I've always been a deviant and criminal, no violent crimes mind you, but I always thought I was ok because of what was in my heart not realizing what it's doing to me even though I still wanna do these things. I'm scared a lot, I think my mom is gonna kill herself before 2024 and I don't know what to do. Please keep posting, maybe I can find an answer in your words. Thank you. Wow, Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry for your loss. Last Year, I was counseling a person who had just lost her daughter who was 5 years old at the time. She was so sad and angry towards God as to why he would allow a precious child to pass at such a young age. I explained that although we don't know why God allows these things but I thought about what if the daughter could speak to us? I told her mother, if your daughter could speak to us today, what do you think she would say to you? I don't believe the daughter would tell us things like "whenever you think of me, please always be sad okay mom? Please live depressed and never move on, and never experience joy again". I believe her daughter would say "mom, I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you, but please go on living happily for me", "mom don't be sad, but live happy okay?" "I'm sorry I couldn't be there but please live happily in honor of me". She started to cry and decided from that day forward, she will live happily in her daughters place and for her daughter. They recently just had a new born baby and are extremely thankful. She is filled with joy and attends our church. Likewise, I believe Annie would never want you guys to live in sadness or feel sad every time you think of her. I don't know Annie of course but I believe she would want you guys to live happily and live for her. Please contact me when you can. I hope my words can help you. Thanks again and God bless you!
@@johnnychanglive thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond, my sister had problems, she always did the opposite of what our mom wanted her to do even though she knew it would be bad for her because she felt her only power was saying no. She was covered in tattoos and an artist but never could make herself try and make money with it even though she could have. In her last couple years after I moved out she would drain our mom's account and my mom started to hit her even though she was in her early thirties. Now it's all my mom can think of, my sister would have driven anyone crazy but mom can't forgive herself for the way she treated her no matter how badly my sister screwed her over and she could never tell the truth about anything. You could catch her red handed and she would never admit to anything even if it was not important, she'd lie about stuff that didn't matter and became a recluse. My mom says it worse than when dad died because he was happy but Annie was always miserable so mom says she deserves to suffer because she hurt Annie. She says she wants to die as painfully as she can for penance but nothing can make it right, she thinks about her every second of everyday, she was her life and had put her in such financial problems she only worked and never talked to people or went out, just worked to support her, now she's only hanging on a little longer for me she says but that she can't keep living. I appreciate your words and concern, please pray for us. I will keep your mom in my prayers, and I hope she finds peace and forgiveness toward herself. I think the fact that she feels any type of remorse ( whether she was right or wrong) is enough in itself; she has already punished herself enough by letting "how she felt she treated your sister" start to eat at her. I pray that she sees everything from a different perspective and uses that time and energy for something positive; maybe you can help her find something new to refocus her mind on. Whether that is learning something new, like a new language, volunteering at a children's hospital, or some type of exercise. Something to just give her hope..something to look forward to. I agree with Johnny that Anne wouldn't want to meet your mom on the other side, knowing that she took her life because she felt guilty. I also pray for your strength, that God gives you peace and serenity, and that you lean on him and not your understanding ( no matter what happens). and that your anxiety about this and any other situations you have evaporates. I moved out of Cali to Eastern WA, because I felt my calling was there. I like how you touch about the book of Romans, that is a chapter I go to a lot. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story. Moment after moment in your SWU interview I felt like we had lived the same life. Just a few weeks ago at 19 I felt like my life was over like I had exhausted any purpose and I was going to die. The emptiness, rage, anger, that you described that I have been holding onto for years all lifted when you started talking about forgiving your father. Literally wept tears of joy. 🙏
Great testimony, I think many of us have an emptiness that believe that the world can fill that inside of us. But reality we are lack of God’s word. I was saved when I was 25 years old now I am 32 and although I still have flaws I trust in my Lord and I do my best to fill my heart with the word of God. Because we are imperfect and we need him to keep pushing us to do better and help others in his name! Glad your family is saved and keep saving others ❤

Hey Johnny, i heard your story from another video and I got to say it really touched me a lot. Thank you for coming on and sharing your beautiful testimony. My dad was also very abusive when I was a child, but when he recieved the Gospel back in 2014, he totally changed. I couldn't recognize him anymore because he was a new person in Christ. Johnny when I hear your story, It reminded me of him, but it also reminded me just how real Christ Jesus is. How Christ has solved the problems of Genesis 3:6-11 and gave us a pathway to become children of God. Our backgrounds are changed from sin,satan,seperation to blessings of being a child of God, eternal life, and mission. I truly believe you're gonna go on to do tremendous things for the Lord brotha. I'm also from OC, so If I ever run into you, I'll shake your hand. Jesus is the Christ!

I too have been through a lot of suffering in my life. It wasn’t until I realized that I was trying to pull myself away from those circumstances that I was able to walk away and start over. In less than two years I have cured my own depression, fibromyalgia, I started bodybuilding, I have cleared all negative energies. Without God, my higher self, it would not be possible.
The San Bernardino shooting that occurred recently in celebration of the happy Chinese new year is very sad, best wishes and I am sorry for your loss to the families and friends.

I went in 1996, got out in 1998.Then I went back in fast, and didn't get out until 2004.It was was hell.Our homies were rising by the numbers in there, even back then.In fact, Asians were the fastest rising inmates at that time.It's messed up! Especially when you mentioned your child trying to hide the veggies and going for the gummy bears when no one taught him that. That made so much sense to me. We humans are just imperfect. Hey Johnny, found you on Under The Influence Pod Cast Shows. I am one of their loyal followers and started to follow you recently. I keep myself away from God for a while now because I feel frustrated that I couldn't meet God's expectations. It just feels like too high for me to reach and I gave up eventually. I know God is real and pure. He is our almighty king. And because of that feeling that I have for Him, I tried change according to His standard. You know, like how you love someone and try to change yourself so that He could be proud of you. But I end up exhausted myself and get frustrated. At the end, I feels that God is too good for me to be with and I keep myself away from Him.
New subscriber! Just watched your video on Softwhite underbelly. Thanks for sharing your testamony. It'll help guide a lot of people who have never seen their past in this way. People need to be delivered and healed from deep seeded wounds caused in the past. I had bad parents and did a lot of things that was hurting my spirit and even though I wanted to do better, I couldn't do it myself. It took a whole lot of God! I see my childhood friend Casey Barrientos (from the cat house murders in Oklahoma city) and realize that a lot of us didn't make it out but Thank God I was spared! Many people will make it out even if they think it's not possible, just by people like you who are brave and bold enough to speak up.
I will show your video to my boyfriend. He's depressed and broken on the inside. He has so much hatred toward his parents, ex-wife and his old boss. He's 51 and can't forgive and move on in life. He's such an angry person and I'm the complete opposite. I don't want to be with him if he doesn't get the help he needs. It's been 11 years since we've been together and he's pretty much stuck in his past. I deserve to be with someone that's happy and love life.
Great explanation of sin. Sin is not just missing the mark but it is unbelief. And under unbelief there are so much more layer to that. Unbelief= disobedience to God, believing in ourselves, trusting our own understanding, living in the dark etc. Idk why I never connected sin with the word unbelief. Thought of the symptoms(sinful actions) too much and forgot the root of sin. Thank you for the reminder and revelation. Easy to understand but so profound. God bless you!
Well said. I am sure the atheist and believer, alike, is familiar with John 3:16. Far too many use John 3:16, alone, to claim that all are saved in Christ but this is not true. John 3:17 tells us that Christ Jesus did not come the 1st time to condemn (judge) the world but rather save those that believe. Matthew 25:31-46 explains to us that when He returns, He will definitely judge the world for it's sin. John 3:18 explains exactly what you are referring to - unbelief. Those that do not believe in the Son of God (Christ Jesus) are already condemned. - This is rooted in the unbelief of man keeping God's Law/commands (God's word) perfectly. - This is rooted in the curse of all man through Adam and Eve believing the lie of the serpent rather than God's commands (God's word) God's plan for man's redemption started in the garden. While man's heart was always postured towards unbelief in what is true (God's Word), the Word would be made flesh (John 1:1,14), walk perfectly where we never could, take the punishment on the cross that we deserve, give those that believe a new heart and way of thinking and applying His righteousness to our account, that we do not deserve. In that, rather than believing the lie in the garden, He is the Truth (John 14:6) that we can now rest on.

Brother. I love you. From a former Vietnamese gang in Orange county back in the 2000s. There are shoot out almost every week, mostly among ourselves. My brother got shot in the butt my cousin got shot through the stomach and lived, but my younger cousin sitting in the front passenger seat and got multiple shots through the neck and body. I tried to stop the bleeding from his neck and couldn't. Make the story short. My best friend at the time, an og., got time for life, for a shooting. So I took off and joined the military. In hind sight. If I were to stay back. I don't think I would be here today. And I found Jesus in the process. So thank you for your message.

I heard your story on SWU, and it brought me to tears, my whole life, I've always thought because I was kind and understanding,empathetic and wanted to help animals and the hurt people in the world, that I was ok, but my dad was killed by a drunk driver when I was ten and I suffered head trauma and had to learn to walk again, ever since then I've been different, impulsive, irrational, I've lost so many friends to drugs and suicide. Last month I lost a friend I've had since I was four to a heart attack, my best friend committed suicide when I was 19, and last year my older sister committed suicide with fentanyl. It was always my mom my sister and me, no other family, now my mom keeps saying she's gonna kill herself because my sister had problems and always lived with her and was on rugs because she was so lonely and felt like such a loser, and you got me thinking, I've always been a deviant and criminal, no violent crimes mind you, but I always thought I was ok because of what was in my heart not realizing what it's doing to me even though I still wanna do these things. I'm scared a lot, I think my mom is gonna kill herself before 2024 and I don't know what to do. Please keep posting, maybe I can find an answer in your words. Thank you. Wow, Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry for your loss. Last Year, I was counseling a person who had just lost her daughter who was 5 years old at the time. She was so sad and angry towards God as to why he would allow a precious child to pass at such a young age.
I explained that although we don't know why God allows these things but I thought about what if the daughter could speak to us?
I told her mother, if your daughter could speak to us today, what do you think she would say to you?
I don't believe the daughter would tell us things like "whenever you think of me, please always be sad okay mom? Please live depressed and never move on, and never experience joy again". I believe her daughter would say "mom, I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you, but please go on living happily for me", "mom don't be sad, but live happy okay?" "I'm sorry I couldn't be there but please live happily in honor of me".
She started to cry and decided from that day forward, she will live happily in her daughters place and for her daughter. They recently just had a new born baby and are extremely thankful. She is filled with joy and attends our church.
Likewise, I believe Annie would never want you guys to live in sadness or feel sad every time you think of her. I don't know Annie of course but I believe she would want you guys to live happily and live for her.

@@johnnychanglive thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond, my sister had problems, she always did the opposite of what our mom wanted her to do even though she knew it would be bad for her because she felt her only power was saying no. She was covered in tattoos and an artist but never could make herself try and make money with it even though she could have. In her last couple years after I moved out she would drain our mom's account and my mom started to hit her even though she was in her early thirties. Now it's all my mom can think of, my sister would have driven anyone crazy but mom can't forgive herself for the way she treated her no matter how badly my sister screwed her over and she could never tell the truth about anything. You could catch her red handed and she would never admit to anything even if it was not important, she'd lie about stuff that didn't matter and became a recluse. My mom says it worse than when dad died because he was happy but Annie was always miserable so mom says she deserves to suffer because she hurt Annie. She says she wants to die as painfully as she can for penance but nothing can make it right, she thinks about her every second of everyday, she was her life and had put her in such financial problems she only worked and never talked to people or went out, just worked to support her, now she's only hanging on a little longer for me she says but that she can't keep living. I appreciate your words and concern, please pray for us. I will keep your mom in my prayers, and I hope she finds peace and forgiveness toward herself. I think the fact that she feels any type of remorse ( whether she was right or wrong) is enough in itself; she has already punished herself enough by letting "how she felt she treated your sister" start to eat at her. I pray that she sees everything from a different perspective and uses that time and energy for something positive; maybe you can help her find something new to refocus her mind on. Whether that is learning something new, like a new language, volunteering at a children's hospital, or some type of exercise. Something to just give her hope..something to look forward to. I agree with Johnny that Anne wouldn't want to meet your mom on the other side, knowing that she took her life because she felt guilty. I also pray for your strength, that God gives you peace and serenity, and that you lean on him and not your understanding ( no matter what happens). and that your anxiety about this and any other situations you have evaporates. I moved out of Cali to Eastern WA, because I felt my calling was there. I like how you touch about the book of Romans, that is a chapter I go to a lot. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story. Moment after moment in your SWU interview I felt like we had lived the same life. Just a few weeks ago at 19 I felt like my life was over like I had exhausted any purpose and I was going to die. The emptiness, rage, anger, that you described that I have been holding onto for years all lifted when you started talking about forgiving your father. Literally wept tears of joy. 🙏
Great testimony, I think many of us have an emptiness that believe that the world can fill that inside of us. But reality we are lack of God’s word. I was saved when I was 25 years old now I am 32 and although I still have flaws I trust in my Lord and I do my best to fill my heart with the word of God. Because we are imperfect and we need him to keep pushing us to do better and help others in his name!

Hey Johnny, i heard your story from another video and I got to say it really touched me a lot. Thank you for coming on and sharing your beautiful testimony. My dad was also very abusive when I was a child, but when he recieved the Gospel back in 2014, he totally changed. I couldn't recognize him anymore because he was a new person in Christ. Johnny when I hear your story, It reminded me of him, but it also reminded me just how real Christ Jesus is. How Christ has solved the problems of Genesis 3:6-11 and gave us a pathway to become children of God. Our backgrounds are changed from sin,satan,seperation to blessings of being a child of God, eternal life, and mission. I truly believe you're gonna go on to do tremendous things for the Lord brotha. I too have been through a lot of suffering in my life. It wasn’t until I realized that I was trying to pull myself away from those circumstances that I was able to walk away and start over. In less than two years I have cured my own depression, fibromyalgia, I started bodybuilding, I have cleared all negative energies. Without God, my higher self, it would not be possible.
Keep your head up brother. I’ve been through trial and error myself, we just got to keep pushing 💯. 🙏

Hey Johnny, found you on Under The Influence Pod Cast Shows. I am one of their loyal followers and started to follow you recently. I keep myself away from God for a while now because I feel frustrated that I couldn't meet God's expectations. It just feels like too high for me to reach and I gave up eventually. I know God is real and pure. He is our almighty king. And because of that feeling that I have for Him, I tried change according to His standard. You know, like how you love someone and try to change yourself so that He could be proud of you. But I end up exhausted myself and get frustrated. At the end, I feels that God is too good for me to be with and I keep myself away from Him.

New subscriber! Just watched your video on Softwhite underbelly. Thanks for sharing your testamony. It'll help guide a lot of people who have never seen their past in this way. People need to be delivered and healed from deep seeded wounds caused in the past. I had bad parents and did a lot of things that was hurting my spirit and even though I wanted to do better, I couldn't do it myself. It took a whole lot of God! I see my childhood friend Casey Barrientos (from the cat house murders in Oklahoma city) and realize that a lot of us didn't make it out but Thank God I was spared! Many people will make it out even if they think it's not possible, just by people like you who are brave and bold enough to speak up.
I will show your video to my boyfriend. He's depressed and broken on the inside. He has so much hatred toward his parents, ex-wife and his old boss. He's 51 and can't forgive and move on in life. He's such an angry person and I'm the complete opposite. I don't want to be with him if he doesn't get the help he needs. It's been 11 years since we've been together and he's pretty much stuck in his past. I deserve to be with someone that's happy and love life.

Great explanation of sin. Sin is not just missing the mark but it is unbelief. And under unbelief there are so much more layer to that. Unbelief= disobedience to God, believing in ourselves, trusting our own understanding, living in the dark etc.
Idk why I never connected sin with the word unbelief. Thought of the symptoms(sinful actions) too much and forgot the root of sin. Thank you for the reminder and revelation.

Well said. I am sure the atheist and believer, alike, is familiar with John 3:16. Far too many use John 3:16, alone, to claim that all are saved in Christ but this is not true. John 3:17 tells us that Christ Jesus did not come the 1st time to condemn (judge) the world but rather save those that believe. Matthew 25:31-46 explains to us that when He returns, He will definitely judge the world for it's sin. John 3:18 explains exactly what you are referring to - unbelief. Those that do not believe in the Son of God (Christ Jesus) are already condemned.
- This is rooted in the unbelief of man keeping God's Law/commands (God's word) perfectly.
- This is rooted in the curse of all man through Adam and Eve believing the lie of the serpent rather than God's commands (God's word)
God's plan for man's redemption started in the garden. While man's heart was always postured towards unbelief in what is true (God's Word), the Word would be made flesh (John 1:1,14), walk perfectly where we never could, take the punishment on the cross that we deserve, give those that believe a new heart and way of thinking and applying His righteousness to our account, that we do not deserve. In that, rather than believing the lie in the garden, He is the Truth (John 14:6) that we can now rest on.
